421  Other / Meta / Re: mods don't do anything, report function pointless. on: July 26, 2017, 03:07:01 AM
You just can't just say that "mods don't do anything" just because a certain case didn't get solved.

They're donating their time to this community and always delete tons of spammy posts and replies all around the forum.

Just don't come as a .. and say such abiut them.

P.s: They literally don't get paid that much. It's almost considered free work from them.

Thanks mods
422  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it too late to buy bitcoin? on: July 26, 2017, 03:03:00 AM
It totally depends on how you look at it. If you want to invest but you're not ready to settle down and wait for some time till you make solid profits, don't get in.

I'm telling you this because the prices of crypto is volatile. No it's WILDLY unstable. So it can break the roof and the next day die on the floor.

If you're the kinda person who enjoys this bumpy ride hop on. 😃
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: scammed by a bot on: July 26, 2017, 02:45:28 AM
Too sad to hear about your losses.
But it is also a lesson not to trust any form of "invest your money here and we'll send a daily income somehow".

That's just plain scam. I can't believe people still fall for this kinda stuff.
Even if they do pay you for the first time it's just because they're sure you're gonna get excited and send mich more than you did the first time.

If everyone understood that there's no easy way to get money, these ponzi schemes wouldn't find any victims to attack.
424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Have CPU-Only Coins Died? on: July 25, 2017, 01:31:20 AM
I don't think it's possible. It's much easier to mine those coins on GPUs since they have much higher computing power.
So cpu-only coins don't grab much if not any attention.

When miners are attracted to a coin, investors are so it gets some value. But if no one is hooked up to it, errrr dead.
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What sites do you use to track new ICO? on: July 25, 2017, 01:29:15 AM
Mainly the forum itself. Each and every  ICO has to create an announcement thread on bitcointalk if it wants to survive.

Maybe add that section to your watched list ?
ICOs are really interesting and seem to be a good and quick way to make a lot of money in short time but what I keep hearing about ICOs getting hacked makes me pull off.

I think everyone should do a full research before thinking about putting his money into something.
426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we know about Aug 1 before Aug 1? on: July 17, 2017, 09:41:21 AM
I'm pretty sure you know the answer to your question.
It's of course totally impossible.

You'll see threads popping hear and there saying "hey bitcoin is gonna fall and die" and others saying "hey it'll be worth more than $4k".

These are just people "talking".
No one has assurance what's gonna happen.

Is segwit gonna be fully activated or a hard for is incoming ? I just wish for the best with no split and segwit.

We just need to have some patience.
427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Vnc crashing rig is there a better solution? on: July 17, 2017, 09:36:08 AM
I use Team viewer and it's working like a champ.
Just download it and create an account then add your device as allowed entry.

Working stable on my 1060 mining and doesn't affect mining hash rates at all.
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Probably answered a zillion times on: July 17, 2017, 09:33:10 AM
1- as I understood that bitcoin mining is becoming less profitable every day, unless you have a massive hash power, I'd like to try mining altcoins, but am I wrong thinking this is profitable ?

Altcoin mining is actually profitable but I don't suggest joining until the middle of August as there is a lot of turbulence in prices because of some stuff in bitcoins (I just don't wanna go into details since you're new)

2- following that, are there ASIC miners (I only see those for bitcoins, unless antminers are also able to mine altcoins?)
GPUs are used in altcoin mining (ethereum, zcash etc.) ASICs are only currently available for bitcoins and litecoins (thank god )

3- last one, when scouting for a pool, would you recommend a pool/software that mines a bit of everything or a pool for each cryptocurrency I mine.

There's no such thing as a pool for everything. You choose a pool for every currency you mine (and it's not that big of a deal).
Here's what I use when I mine the following.

Ethereum - ethermine.org
Zcash     - zcash.flypool.org
Decred    - dcr.suprnova.cc
Lbry        - lbry.suprnova.cc

429  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Forum search not working on: July 17, 2017, 09:24:47 AM
Use google to search for whatever you're looking for here and follow it by site:bitcointalk.org

For example if you want to search the forum for "ledger nano" you type in google "ledger nano site:bitcointalk.org"

Like in this link:

430  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Please educate me how to use mobile application checking coin prices! on: July 17, 2017, 08:59:54 AM
I personally use Coincap app for iphone. It shows live price changes for a lot of coins instantly in the app itself (something like preev but for a lot of coins)

I literally open it every single day. It's just very useful.

Here you go:

431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The great tsnuami of selling used GPU's..When will it commence on: July 16, 2017, 03:03:27 PM
I'm waiting for that too! I'm 100% sure that a lot of people who thought that this is an easy route to get rich in a short time and bought mining rigs are going to sell in no time.

Just give them a week or two. You'll see cards everywhere.
Idk at that time if I should buy nvidia or amd but let's just wait and watch.  Cool
432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Possibility of lost coins after August split. on: July 16, 2017, 02:58:28 PM
Theoretically, it's possible. But why are you talking as if the split is something that's going to happen for sure?
There's still 14 more days to go!

Any way if you're really worried don't make any transactions until everything is settled down.
Make sure you have the private keys to the wallet where you have your bitcoins (don't use an online wallet that doesn't offer that )
433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: what do you expect of the bitcoin price? on: July 16, 2017, 02:56:19 PM
We will never find out until it's August 1. At that time we'll see how the price goes.
If it's up a lot of altcoins (mostly eth) will hopefully follow.

Some ppl suggest a btc split and price decrease but we just need to wait and pray Cheesy
434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After Aug 1st and SegWit on: July 16, 2017, 02:45:43 PM
The price is about $1800 now for one bitcoins which is very  low for the past period of time.
This was actually expected as ppl want to play it safe so they cash out.
Price dumping before August first doesn't worry me, what really does is what happens after.

Hopefully it goes up or at least gets back to normal $2500+.
The thing is all altcoins depend on btc price (therefore altcoin mining). And since I'm mining I want it to get back up ASAP Cheesy
435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people fear 1st Aug hardfork? on: July 13, 2017, 02:41:12 AM
And why don't they make it a softfork so Bitcoin won't be splitted?

That's exactly we all are anxious. We fear splitting bitcoin into two.
So price might go up or fall really hard. Soft fork ? Sounds great but too many greedy people don't agree (I really don't know much why ).

It's just messy and needs to be solved out. Hopefully no HUGE price drops happen.
436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sorry me, but it Very important information about litecoin (LTC) on: July 13, 2017, 02:38:31 AM
Wait what ?
Are you truely seriously talking rubbish about litecoins ? OH yeah and then comparing it to some crappy whatever syscoin.

Well that's not how marketing works mate. You don't go say "hey the second most trusted car in the world is bad and dangerous come try mine".

Pulling out some big red lines and arrows here and there shows nothing.
Leave ltc at a side. Show me what Syscoin has. Does it have anything unique ? Anything amazing ?

You need to reconsider how to market or gather attention.
437  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1st August questions - can you invest safely? on: July 10, 2017, 03:09:58 AM
Which will happen on August 1 we must be ready to face it. Therefore we must prepare from now what to do is seek information from now through a trusted network so that we can later control the bitcoin we have safely. Nor do we lose ourselves.

Wait what ??
You want a bitcoin that you later control ourselves ? What ?
Do you know what crypto is all about ?
It's about creating a currency that's is decentralized i.e: not controlled by anyone.

That's what we exactly don't want to happen.

And actually I think it's safer to cash out everything until we see what's gonna happen on august first.
Hopefully no hard fork or any thing serious.
438  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Successful Login from New IP [Poloniex] on: July 10, 2017, 03:06:21 AM
Did you check if all these ips are not from your region ?
Because sometimes your router gives you a different ip address.

The best solution is just to add 2FA security to your account. That way it won't be possible for anyone to login to your account without your phone.

There's also a possibility that you have some type of malware or keyloggers on your pc.

TIP : Don't use the same email/pass combination anywhere else as well.
439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which Altcoins will grow to $hundreds millions or to a $billion market cap? on: July 10, 2017, 03:02:00 AM
Many coins have a lot of opportunity to take off but when !
I like ETC, LTC, and some more but the current general theme of coins value is scary.

I really don't want to invest a penny in any crypto now till prices steablize.
All coins are decreasing in value from 2% to 15%. Imagine that kinda a loss in two successive days for example :O
CHAOS !
440  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-05] Unconfirmed Transactions Queue and Bitcoin Fees Drop Considerably on: July 06, 2017, 05:59:00 PM
This is the hot wallet of a tiny small company that I know.

https://blockchain.info/address/19D1iGzDr7FyAdiy3ZZdxMd6ttHj1kj6WW

Just take a look. All the transactions that have been processed for the past 3 days have been in the range of 25-40 sat/byte !! And all of them got confirmed easily without any interference from any accelerators or such.
Which is compared to a week ago where all transactions where at least 100+ sat/byte.

I guess we don't need a fork or anything. Since it's clear and vivid that this was a spam attack.
