1  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Personal Server on Windows 10 (was 7) on: July 23, 2019, 02:46:27 PM
Okay, I would like to get this issue resolved. The Electrum Multisig wallet is working fine but I would like to get Electrum to run on a Bitcoin full node.
I’m offering 1M sats (0.01BTC) to anyone who can get EPS to work on my laptop. Contact me via PM to arrange details.
Here is my setup:

Windows 10
Electrum multisig wallet (version 3.38)
Bitcoin Core (0.18.0) configured to run via TOR
TOR browser (8.5.1)

Which should not be used at all, regardless of whether it works or not.
All types of cracked windows OS are infected with malware and backdoors. That's their business model.

Also applies to original windows OS which done by Microsoft, expect you also might get infected by 3rd-party malware/backdoor who share pirated distribution.

Which OS would you recommend to run Electrum multisig wallet on? How does it compare in terms of security to running Windows 10?

"won't launch at all" is not much information at all. Could you be more precise? Error message, anything ?

I'm getting "failed to execute script", with a "missing section header" error. Any idea what this means?

However, is there a specific reason you want to stick to an outdated and unsecure OS instead of upgrading it to at least have a bit of security?
I, personally, don't see a single reason.

No specific reason, just trying to save some time and money. I will no doubt do the upgrade if necessary.

The guide on the GitHub repository is for Windows 10 users so, 7 may not be supported.

You can, however, check this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2825916.msg28950183#msg28950183

It's about the wallet but If the error mentioned there is related to Python, then maybe it could be a solution (hard to tell as you didn't give much info).

Alternatively, you could create an issue on the GitHub repo or contact the developer on the forums (inactive for some time).

Thanks for your reply.
The issue is that after adding Master Public Addresses on a Multi-Sig wallet and entering target for the Bitcoin Directory, when moving the config file onto the .exe app, EPS won't launch at all.

Hi,

Was anybody able to install and run EPS on a Windows 7 machine?
Doesn't seem to work for me, just thought I'd check here to get pointers to the reason.
Thanks!
6  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory 0.95.1 will not run bitcoind in the backround on: February 15, 2017, 01:57:05 PM
I see. Will I need to enter the command line manually every time I use armory or is there a way for it to save this change?

In 0.95, yes. For the next version I'm introducing config files for DB and client.

For now, is there a certain order to execute this command?
I'm not too familiar with using command line.
Can you please explain like to a five year old.

Makes me wonder- how can we save the blockchain data on another drive?
Since we can't use the "run in the background" option anymore, how does armory know to look for that data?
Armory has various command line options to specify certain things. Basically anything in the settings has a command line option, and some more that also aren't in the settings. If you want to move Bitcoin Core's datadir to another drive, you need to set the --satoshi-datadir=<path> option where <path> is the path to Bitcoin Core's datadir. You can also specify a different location for Armory's datadir with --datadir=<path> where <path> is the path to wherever you want Armory's datadir.

I see. Will I need to enter the command line manually every time I use armory or is there a way for it to save this change?

There have been some issues with Armory managing Bitcoin Core. These should be fixed in the next version but for now, just run Bitcoin Core manually.

Thanks for confirming this. Appreciate your reply.

I recently upgraded to the latest versions of both Armonry and Bitcoin Core on a windows 7 machine.
Now I am able to run and sync armory if I launch Bitcoin Core manually but when I switch to "run in background" option, armory is stuck preparing Databases 0% 1 sec.
Any idea why is this and how it can get fixed?
11  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Best way to upgrade offline wallet on: January 11, 2016, 11:45:49 PM
After doing some more research I ended up upgrading Armory on the offline computer to 0.92.3 which solved the problem.
I am now able to sign and broadcast transactions.
For some reason the 0.93.2 Windows 7 installer does not support 32 bit machines (contrary to what is said on Armory's download page).
12  Bitcoin / Armory / Best way to upgrade offline wallet on: January 08, 2016, 01:52:53 AM
My offline wallet is on an older Windows 7 /32 bit machine running Armory 0.90
I have been having an issue signing transactions. The offline wallet does not recognize the unsigned file (it does see it and opens it from USB stick but says that it does not recognize it).
I was hoping to upgrade to version 0.93 on the offline wallet to solve this issue but unfortunately the 0.93 installer would not work on a Windows 7/ 32 bit.
Would upgrading solve this issue at all? What would be the fastest way for me to send coins from my offline wallet?
Thanks!
13  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Mac 10.7.5 with version 2.0.2- can't connect on: March 19, 2015, 01:24:53 AM
Managed to connect via Terminal- pasting what the above poster suggested.
Does that mean Terminal will need to run in the background all the time?
Will Electrum run reliably this was?
14  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Mac 10.7.5 with version 2.0.2- can't connect on: March 17, 2015, 06:31:42 PM
Hi Nerioseole,

I managed to get 2.0.3 running but still can't connect.
I did the "start the program, quit, and re-start it again" you suggested- but still no connection.
Also noticed that the network Proxy option within Electrum is greyed out.
Could it be that the network setting on my mac are not configured correctly?
I have full wi fi signal and Firewall is off in the system preferences.

Thanks!

Can you start Electrum by opening a terminal and pasting this in
Code:
/Applications/Electrum.app/Contents/MacOS/Electrum -v

Please give me the output that it gives you.

Hi Tachikoma,

I have sent you a copy/ paste of output from Terminal via PM.
To make things even worst, I have now upgraded to 2.0.3 and I'm getting an Electrum Error message at startup with the option of either "Terminate" or "Open Console".
16  Bitcoin / Electrum / Mac 10.7.5 with version 2.0.2- can't connect on: March 16, 2015, 09:22:25 PM
I'm a new electrum user.
Tried deselecting "auto" server and reopen with different servers several time but nothing happens.
Also reinstalled the app but that didn't help either.
Any ideas what to do. Searched the forums here but can't find a solution. Thanks!
