Why is the price of Ethereum sinking? : BTC speculators have left the building!

Proof: Look at Poloniex BTC cold wallet!

Link: https://bitinfocharts.com/bitcoin/address/17irB8xLxhVRerCoUyypnmpoak3QBpVp2z

When will it stop going down? :
1. When more and more value investors (not speculators) buy and hold ethereum.
2. When BTC crashes hard and speculators return to Poloniex.  It appears that (Poloniex) speculators are selling their BTC for cash.
3. When Ether mining becomes unprofitable or Ethereum switches to POS.

true, but remember volume also shifted to shapeshift and finex aswell as a few other decent exchanges in canada, india, poland and others

i would seriously advise against selling large amounts of ETH now, you might be lucky and make 10-15% profit but i warn you will risk losing 30-40% ETH coz demand is increasing as it drops.

Crypto has no mean at all being a holy essence of thin air however i think somewhere around 0.005 today and 0.01 tomorrow Smiley But only if ethereum really meets up some of its promises and potential.
kl, crypto is a game of speculation and opinion and you have yours, fair enough. ( ill post my lil chart ltr tonight )
if it going down much lower.... it will be due to some exchange hack or something and will recover very quickly.
I expect many big exchanges to add ETH and everyone of them will be scooping up the coins aswell as every single person that holds any form of crypto.
Monday will be very interesting.

referring to your chart....wheres the mean?

Room for Cooperation
However, as was mentioned earlier, this does not mean that we should simply go our own way and try to ignore – or worse, actively sabotage, each other. Even if all of our projects are necessarily specializing toward different goals, there is nevertheless a substantial opportunity for much less duplication of effort, and more cooperation. This is true on multiple levels. First, let us look at a model of the cryptocurrency ecosystem – or, perhaps, a vision of what it might look like in 1-5 years time:

http://blog.storj.io/post/142435522148/storj-labs-joins-the-microsoft-azure-blockchain

According to Ethereum founder, Vitalik Buterin, an important shift is underway in the industry: “Distributed file storage systems like Storj have the potential to eliminate high markup costs and market inefficiencies and provide a much higher level of privacy, reliability and quality of service than we see today.”

Enterprises are also beginning to notice the potential of distributed object storage. Companies like Coca-Cola, Cox Enterprises, InterContinental Hotels Group, The Weather Channel and Capgemini are now exploring the commercialization of Storj within their own organizations.

IDEA
A new ETH ONLY EXCHANGE , allowing users to trade their $, £, Euros, for ETH, REP(Augur),SLK(Slockits coin, i made name up btw) PLT (Plutus) maybe even SMG(Samsung) UBU(Ubuntu) etc.
Lets do it  Smiley

Some people may say why?, id say as time passes do we really want to keep buying BTC and then ETH,then GAS or REP etc, we lose money in transaction fess, changing coins fees...we could eliminate the baggage, save money and time, do it direct , fiat for ETH or GAS and Dapp Tokens all from one exchange.
This gives buyers more coin and ETH more overall market value as the fiat is going directly into the ETH ecosystem.

lol, i never knew about this, its almost what ive been thinking about...

Openbaazar, is here, lightning network has a date, halvining is getting closer...wheres the bulls? wheres the pumps? ,lol hope im wrong, but part of me thinks they worried to pump coz so many peeps made nice amounts of BTC on ETH and know they gona get dumped on.
cmon guys pump to $500 at least.  Tongue
4573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: April 06, 2016, 04:05:54 PM
As people sell or short their ETH , price goes down a bit ...no probs coz  someone/group is scooping every coin up with thousands of BTC everyday, buy support gets eaten a bit then an hour later another 2kbtc turns up lol, excellent stuff tbh   Smiley

BTW get ready for some awesome news soon

That article was clearly written by a left-handed ape, why is phys.org engaging in Bitcoin FUD Mrpumperitis?
i actually agree with most of the article. ( which part do you have a problem with..all of it?,lol )
I do hold BTC but as the halving gets nearer, for me the risk in holding BTC is getting higher. I was around at the first halving, i watched the dumps....the pump came around 6months ltr.
So many people ready to dump when BTC hits $1k+, they dream of people buying fractions of BTC sats for hundreds of dollars, lol and miners getting less rewards makes me think we could see a repeat of last time.
Another thing i notice a lot is when i speak to peeps and say , would you buy 0.5btc for $500 or 30eth for same price, they always choose the full coin with new potential.
I also think when ETH switches to pos that could be the time BTC gets its next big pump, the halvining pump imo was priced in for the past 4-5months.

Somebody who neither understands Bitcoin, Bitcoin mining or economics has written an article on said topics. Not only that, while discussing bitcoin mining he's tossed in ASIC but in reference to the Australian Securities and Investment Commission to add to the confusion.

Their section on "Astronomy & Space" is proof positive that the ignorance of the of phys.org and our author go far beyond Bitcoin and economics.
lol, i agree on the ASIC bit, lol, i had to read it twice there, lol.
anyway, i got another concern.....wheres all the gifs gone from here...all deleted?? has bitcointalk banned gifs?? ,lol

Millions of Microsoft developers are now able to build decentralized applications using the Athereum blockchain thanks to a collaboration between the software giant and ConsenSys, announced today.

Microsoft announces Xbox One Dev Mode to turn retail consoles into developer kits
The XBOX One specs would make it a great candidate for running a full node. Plenty of memory, powerful CPU, plenty of storage and/or
Mist wallet as an app on xbox and maybe PS store...woooaaa, think of the effect consoles had on youtube, netflicks, twitch and many other apps.
