I'd rather play the bitcoin game than the stock market game, personally I'm not willing to take part in a rigged economy set up and 'controlled' by central banks and other elite financial institutions who think they own and control the world. The stock market is in for a big crash soon, they are pretty much at their top now and can't be pushed much higher anymore. Bitcoin however hasn't even begun to blossom yet. You can wait for a big correction to buy in, but there is a very good chance that bitcoin will be worth many multiple times of todays value in 2 years from now. Invest what you can miss for at least 2 years, and don't stress over short term charts.
+1 "don't stress over short term charts" - easier said than done! especially this last week!

What time is it in the USA?
4 to 6 AM But USA does not drive shit lately. China does. I'm thinking more in terms of panic selling when they wake up and see the price.

It's at times like this that my principles of Buy And Hold get seriously tested. Thanks goodness for cold storage. It makes it too much hassle to sell....
If only i did that back when BTC was at $30 a couple of years ago... id be a millionaire now at these prices! hindsight eh...

Quite a lot, but still not so many. To comfortably retire you need at least BTC10, it's not getting much easier than that. So it will be 100,000s of people at most, not millions. Unless bitcoin rises really high, that is. how much do you think BTC needs to be before this is reality? (really hope your correct as i have allot more than BTC10...)

Ain't it the truth.
I think truth is - buy low - sell high ... - buy higher "Losing all your money" is difficult w/ bitcoin. Ain't it true!

I didn't see much whale buys during this rally btw, this was different in april if i remember right. Or am i wrong?
Whales are selling slowly and constantly putting medium walls (1k-3k) on bitstamp, little fish are buying the current hype and may bleed later on.. As for Gox its an abandoned house. I propose a better terminology for grouping the different kind of market actors. Or please tell me, what are the behavioral characteristics of the whales, as opposed to smaller fish? As far as I know, big holders don't sell. Agreed, most big holders won't sell they are true believers in this system. Although i do think some youngsters maybe selling now, the computertechies in their early twenties who discovered Bitcoin and mined some coins. They have enough now to buy nice things and improve their life quality. That is a difference with the investors who bought in during the March/April rally, they already have money of course. My question is, why don't we see new whales coming up yet? Or do we have to be more patient? Theres been alot of hype about big swings this week... a smart person would sit on the sideline to see what happens before investing... i know i would if i was in that boat.

This is sort of nonsense...
For there to be only a single money, there would be no money, as nothing could be exchanged with it.
All things are a type of money when there are people that exchange them.
I think your getting confused between money and currency. two different things.

One big market order is all it takes to swing the market either way. The trick is to be ready to take advantage of each by not being 'all in' with bitcoin or with fiat if at all possible. its nice to see big numbers on the screen but until you want to cash out either way, it doesnt make sense (in my mind anyway!)
point being, it doesnt really matter if the price goes up or down... as long as it doesn't sit still, im a happy bunny.

The main thing ive noticed when explaining bitcoin is that the vast majority people don't realise how the current fiat monetary system works. When i show people this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFDe5kUUyT0#t=71, (which i think explains it the best) most people are shocked and dont believe it. Even if bitcoin doesnt work out in the long term, its opening peoples eyes to the way the current financial system is being run, how it isnt sustainable and gives them a kick to do something more intelligent with their assets. Is that bitcoin, gold, silver, property, antiques, etc..? ive not worked that part out just yet!

See the bigger picture folks. we all knew that growth wasn't sustainable. It'll be back up there at some point. if anything, the last 2 weeks have shown the ATH is more than attainable in the near future.

Pulled my sell order at 265... Convinced we are in for a shock in the next couple of hours.
Put up 50BTC ask at $410... Hope that shorting will not burn me as bad as buying Butterfly Labs Hardware back when it was $6 a BTC Likewise. I was one of the first to get a jalapeņo delivered bit it went faulty after a week or so and took over a month to get replaced... In the meantime difficulty skyrocketed and I'm earning pennies with it now! Luckily it's being run for free though so it's not all bad.
