441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Report Predicts Boom in Bitcoin Adoption by Marijuana Dispensaries on: April 18, 2015, 06:12:15 AM
The usage of Bitcoin ATMs and vending machines could increase among marijuana dispensaries, predicts Green Rush Review.

In its recent promotional press release, the medical marijuana news website blamed the absence of proper banking infrastructure as one of the major reasons why cannabis businesses would move towards other bankable options such as Bitcoin.

Once MJ is legal, people won't need to hide the fact they are purchasing it.   Undecided

Nobody who buys marijuana gives a shit about who knows that they buy it, even in the states where it isn't legal

445  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW / Josh Garza discussion. Paycoin XPY CoinStand Mineral. ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: April 17, 2015, 08:02:12 PM

a.  How did he convince the power company to keep the power on so long and not pay their bill?  At home they shut mine off after 15 days late.
b.  How did he ever come to be involved in with Josh in a small town far from Connecticut?  Why didn't he do his homework before he took the job?  Maybe he did?  I don't know the answer.
c.  Is he going to be personally responsible for this bill since he signed for it?  Wow! That would suck!

Non-residential business places tend to be extremely lenient on this kind of thing, I've heard of web hosting companies not paying the company they colocated with for nearly a year, with server power/housing/bandwidth being provided before being cut off.

The Business to Business world operates on a much wider timescale than the consumer-facing one

Josh is backed in to a corner and starting panic and blurt things out that make it perfectly clear that he was commiting fraud with the Remember Hashlets. The lying fucking prick is now saying that he does not have to disclose the charitable contributions the corporation makes.: https://hashtalk.org/topic/36666/remember-hashlets/17

448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SOFTWARE SALE LIVE] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: April 17, 2015, 02:51:20 PM
Dont wanna be annoying, but I found this comment under the one of Factom videos.

"Here's another easier way to secure the integrity of 29,000 books.
Create a torrent for each book, or a torrent that contains all the books, keep the .torrent, you'll have SHA1 hashes for each torrent, and you'll have the file pieces hashed as well. A .torrent file is a Factum used to validate the integrity of files transfered.

Then grab the .torrent hash and put it into a Bitcoin transaction.

You can create torrents of just about any data source, and add those torrent infohashes to the Bitcoin blockchain.

I still don't see why Factum is needed."

Can someone elaborate? Im not techie, but I guess simple solutions always win.

Bittorrent does everything Factom does and allows for efficient filesharing, and is much more distributed/resilient

I regularly backup archives of ebooks and music by creating torrents of them and using that to distribute data + hashes across lots of storage
449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Factom Will Sell Up To 100% Of Its Bitcoin Reserves on: April 17, 2015, 02:37:29 PM
I really don't understand why factom needs so much funding at all. From what I understand they just store some data in the blockchain. Almost anybody can do that today: Choose an encoding scheme, convert data to transaction values based on the encoding scheme, make a (multisend) transaction, done.

I don't see why you need millions to develop some software to automatize this.

ya.ya.yo!

this is exactly spot on, its mostly just a scheme to defraud crowdfunders

lol maybe it is time to go look through those moderator chatlogs that got posted:

Josh tends to speak semi-freely inside the moderator chat.  Without knowing
the content he holds I am unsure of the level of concern.  Judging by how
"official" statements are twisted and skewed and used against us, I can
only assume that daily chatter would be a magnitude worse.

So yes, I am quite concerned.

Hm. Any mining experts want to weigh in?

I can't speak to mining specifically, but CPU processing abilities are always in a state of flux...

...but not to the degree that it would have a noticeable impact on hashing over time

What I see happening is the new leadership and team are trying to find their way through what is indeed a storm.  I see a separation from GAW/HJG.  I see a first round agreement with the PC owners for an initial drop of staking interest, including the burning of coins that exceed current allowances.  I see acceptance begun of the wallet that effects the staking change.  It's only a start, but it is a start, a beginning of applying brakes to a runaway train.  I also saw a willingness to reach out to someone with greater cryptographic experience than perhaps themselves.

sorry but said train is off the tracks, smashed through a wall, and triage is being attempted on the few survivors, it will never run again.

They said they could not allow us to use CC for straight crypto purchases.
That is why I came uo with buy merchandise with free paycoin. According to
Revolution they will allow straight crypto purchases. So I have Revolution
for straight crypto and IP PAY for purchase of merchandise with free
paycoin as well as Heartland said they would also do the same. I have not
gotten a confirmation that IP PAY bailed but I'm not waiting for them to
just deny us I needed to work on backups.

straight laundering

Yesterday I was reading a discussion between Josh and one of the lawyers and he clearly stated that the Honors Program would not work, not just because of legality. Josh acknowledged this, and proceeded anyways. What imbeciles like ikeboy can not come to grips with is that Homero lies to EVERYONE, not just the suckers like him. He needed the GAW team(at least most of them) to believe that they were working on something real, when he knew full well it was all just a puff of smoke being used to buy more time to dump more XPY.

I will try to dredge that Email up again.

yeah, here's one of many emails

Let's Brian invoked. That makes no sense.

That's like taco bell saying we will sell you tacos and 10k show show up at
4 in the morning, and saying they have to open up and serve everyone
person.

So if a store runs a promotion that says you can buy a tv today for 500
bucks. And a guy comes in and ask for 1000 tvs, they have to provide them
all?

I could keep going, but I am not going to do it based on the reason you
just sent. I may not agree with the realm, but it at least has to make
sense.

Let's also not forget that it's still questionable, asked a friend of my
that has done legal work on this, whether or not our company is even bound
to a commitment based on a personal Twitter post.....as those were the only
ones that even actually said anything.

he uses a similar not-applicable analogy using 'free coffee' in another document that wasnt published

lol, editing post for further responses to josh in this chain:

When Taco Bell does a promotion, they usually include language that says “limitations may apply”. We did not do that.

The commitment wasn’t just one twitter post. This customer sent us 5 different links.

Read the links bud. Only two says something of relevance.

This was a not a promotion, nor was my analogy. It's a question of
reasonability. Just because a company says something can happen, it does
not mean no matter what and unlimited amount.

Using your logic, could the guy had shown up with a million coins? How
about a billion?

Like I said, the only link he sent that has any real merit is the Twitter
link. Which is a straw man argument at best.

He does list one ht link some a similar reference, is actually focused on
restrictions and verifications. Which would void this entire conversation
(if you went to look)

he might be too dumb to realize what he was doing is illegal
455  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW / Josh Garza discussion. Paycoin XPY CoinStand Mineral. ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: April 17, 2015, 01:34:06 AM

All I said was that they planned some of it. There was no proof of that before this, now we have the text. No need for personal attacks.

I didn't say it was a well thought out plan or anything like that. I just thought it would be interesting and relevant to this thread.

clearly the planning never hit the "get the right documents to and approval from the SEC" stage or the "have enough capital on hand to enable this" stage (but got announced anyways

Anyone notice the thread shrinking? Someone's been deleting posts today, when I come back the latest posts have shifted backwards.

Probably miaviator/Jonah. He nuked his big post from a couple weeks ago on that other thread also.

Archives available?

/r/buttcoin's archive bot might have it, i think

he does the same shit to his wife, as you can tell from the emails

pure psychopathic behavior with no exceptions, even for his loved ones
there is no such thing as "loved ones" for a psychopath. at best those he uses as cover/pretends to love.

Good point, poor word selection on my part
