Mr H[censored]. has substantially edited the responses from staff.

The actual response reads.

Quote
Your transfer was executed.

You are now banned from Intersango.

This is a notice of no-trespass covering all Intersango LTD properties including but not limited to intersango.com and all it's sub-domains.

Goodbye Mr H[censored].

As this means the transfer was executed on the 30th he will likely not receive the transfer until Monday.

So... why did you ban him? Did he try to steal from you or something? Or that's just how you deal with customer's complaints?

Intersango has no interest in doing business with people who threaten litigation without a good faith effort to resolve the problem first.

He opened a ticket and immediately threatened us.

That is completely unacceptable behaviour.

Hi,

I would just like to point out as Gusti continues to harass us and act as a very vocal minority in that respect and in his stating to be unsatisfied with momentovps' service

1) purchased a service
2) used that service (he was charged for the use of ram and disk space)

He was responded to multiple times contrary to his statements. Only after he continued to harass us claiming he was never offered the service (although there are records of his use of the vps) did we stop responding to him.
7  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Intersango Exchange on: May 01, 2012, 01:49:38 AM
The support page (https://support.intersango.com/) does not load. It always says for many days (more than a week) now:
Quote
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.

Intersango support, please help.

That error is indicative of a broken firewall or proxy setup.

Especially slow connections will cause the webserver to drop your connection (this is a security measure).

Did you know that Intersango has a Facebook page?

9  Other / Archival / Re: Intersango Scam on: April 10, 2012, 10:01:02 PM
I'm not familiar with your particular situation, I'm sure our support will reply within a reasonable time frame.

The title of course is unappreciated and defamatory. We operated as a free service for the greater part of a year. We developed open source exchange software. We wrote the first full reimplementation of bitcoin entirely at our own expense (an 8 month project) and while we aren't operating at a loss anymore, we are not operating at much of a profit either. Still we maintain the best security and support.

While I'm not familiar with your situation - perhaps you could tell us the particulars - I know that accounts will only be restricted if there is very direct proof of illegal activity or a direct admission of intent to do something illegal.  Of course we are not an illegal operation; we are not and will not be complicit in any illegal activity.

It's unfortunate that there will of course be some people that attempt to use our services in ways which violate UK law. I'm not saying this is the case with you, however our policy at Intersango is to act only in the event of real proof of a crime or intent to commit a crime. We would never take action without proof and I know my partner who deals with this would not waiver from these principles.

We take great steps to ensure that our users' funds are safe, never discriminated against and that accounts are not restricted unless we are certain people have operated outside of our terms and conditions.

If you wish to waive your rights under our privacy policy my partner can respond publicly in this thread.
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Im in the UK, whats the best way to buy bitcoins? on: April 06, 2012, 05:13:46 PM
Cool, who do I use if I want to trade for dollars or euros? I don't have much but I'd like to use them as well.

Intersango also have some of the largest USD, PLN and Euro bitcoin markets, and you can trade with them all from your one Intersango.com account.

For Euro payments you can make a SEPA transfer, it takes 3 days on average and is very cheap, for USD payments we accept Dwolla, also a fast and cheap payment method.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Im in the UK, whats the best way to buy bitcoins? on: April 06, 2012, 05:05:45 PM
If you don't have a friend with bitcoin who is willing to sell them to you, the best option is to buy bitcoin off an exchange.

Lucky for you, being based in the UK means that you can use Intersango, the largest GBP/Bitcoin exchange in the world.

Assuming you have online banking, once you have set up an account on Intersango.com on average it takes an hour to make a payment to your account (providing your bank supports fasterpayments and processes the payment quickly).

As well as being the largest GBP/Bitcoin market we also have the best customer service.

If you have any questions on ANYTHING just email support@intersango.com
12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mt Gox thinks it's the Fed. Freezes acc based on "tainted" coins. on: March 25, 2012, 01:57:20 AM
Nefario made some comments recently where he went beyond his ability and responsibility to answer such sensitive matters on behalf of Intersango. Account freezes have never happened without an investigation and have been extremely rare. They have only happened when someone flagrantly attempted to steal from us or others using our site in an illegal manner.

Incident 1)
A user was advertising a service telling would be customers of his to send funds to Intersango referencing his personal reference code. Users would make a fraudulent bank payment to our bank. His practices were easily seen to be beyond suspicious. (Having many different people, with many different bank accounts deposit to the same Intersango account is already against our policy).

Incident 2)
A person contacted us stating that his personal bank account was hacked into and a SEPA transfer was sent to our business. He was able to state the exact amount of the transfer and the name of the transfer. These details alone prove that he has privileged information as to the transfer and isn't someone just yelling "tainted coins".
13  Economy / Currency exchange / Intersango - Lloyds deposits delayed. on: March 06, 2012, 05:43:04 PM
We're having an issue with getting access to our Lloyds account at the moment.

As a result, all deposits to Lloyds since Friday are going to be delayed.

We are working to try to resolve this ASAP, and hopefully will be able to do so before Thursday

The worst case scenario for the delay will be this Thursday.

We apologise to our customers for these delays and will update this thread on any status changes.
14  Economy / Currency exchange / Intersango have switched banks. on: March 01, 2012, 01:37:32 AM
Dear Intersango Users,

You may have noticed some delays during the past two weeks if you use Intersango in the UK. This is because Lloyds had internal restructuring recently and removed BACS payments as a payment method. In doing so their system caused us considerable complications. This added work meant the Intersango team had to sacrifice an excessive amount of time to process transactions each day.

We are happy to say that we have moved to a bank with a better online interface and will be working to automate the process as much as possible. By this time tomorrow we will at least be processing transactions at the previous rate. We have not closed the Lloyds account yet so do not worry if you have sent a payment to Lloyds.

We are really happy about these developments as they will both free up hours of our time a day and allow you to enjoy intersango much more. We will put those new found hours towards further developing the site. We are already in the final stages of completing a loyalty program which we should announce in the next week or two.

Our new UK bank requires a 20 pence deposit transfer fee which will be charged to new deposits and withdraws. However, we will be maintaining free deposits and withdraws for amounts equal to and in the excess of 100GBP.

Remember, feel free to contact us at support@intersango.com with any questions or suggestions you may have. We are happy to answer literally anything!

Team Intersango
15  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [Update] CryptoCoinMedia's False Accusations on: February 29, 2012, 01:16:20 AM
Nefario: You shouldn't knowlingly take possession of stolen bitcoins.  Particularly when the owner of the service is so litigious and vindictive.

Misery: What was the nature of your agreement with CCM?  Do you have a written contract? It seems like you dont.

It sounds like CCM claims somewhere between 70% and 100% ownership of witcoin.

It sounds like you have the only copy of the wallet in a full system backup.  You have been acting as sys admin, and may have a claim on up to 30% ownership.  You should renounce any claims of ownership, and argue you were working as a contractor for CCM.

This means he is solely liable for returning witcoin deposits.

You can legally delete all backups. A backup of a key is not possession of bitcoins, it is access to them.  You are not destroying the value, you are destroying your access to the value. The bitcoins are legally property of the witcoin entitiy which you are no longer employed by.  You are not legally obligated to retain copies, seeing as how you are no longer employed by him, and he has not been paying you.  Witcoin (owned entirely by CCM) is entirely liable for returning these "stolen" bitcoins.  The fact that CCM does not has backups of his customers' deposits is just negligent business practices, and liability falls to him to pay them back.

Wash your hands of this and let him deal with it.  Don't let him threaten you.  He is trying to blame you for his own mistakes.

legality aside, it would be highly unethical for misery to delete his access to the coins no matter how inappropriate cryptocoinmedia behaves. Even if the coins were cryptocoinmedia's and not the users of the site, I would still believe this to be true. Please do not suggest he delete his access.
16  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [Update] CryptoCoinMedia's False Accusations on: February 29, 2012, 01:12:24 AM
cryptocoinmedia said, WHY WOULD I CONTACT A THIRD PARTY ABOUT MY OWN SITE HuhHuhHuh

Why would you SLANDER a 3rd PARTY???

You would contact a 3rd party if you didn't believe them to be a 3rd party before slandering them.

You said we were responsible and slandered us. I said we were not and were a 3rd party and that you made no attempt to contact us before posting your slander. The proof came out and you offered no apology and you are saying "Why would I contact a 3rd party?"

If you believed us to be a 3rd party, why would you slander us?

If you didn't believe us to be a 3rd party, why would you not ever attempt to contact us?

Please cease the slander.

PS: nefario, I agree that you should try to separate yourself from this issue. You can see how our name is slandered for doing free work. I would seriously consider RaggedMonk's opinion
17  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Miserydearia needs to return peoples accounts and bitcoins [Replied-In progress] on: February 28, 2012, 05:18:06 PM
This is the first time you have asked us to remove witcoin. Next time please ask nicer. When we update the site next we will change this.

We will specifically have our site show that we have done some amount of free work on witcoin and we will specifically mention that we are not the owners if we choose to list our free work.

We are currently working on a new site layout so it should be up in the next week or two.
18  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Possible Bitcoin theft [ Intersango/Bitcoincconsultancy on notice] on: February 28, 2012, 05:14:32 PM
EDIT: Nefario is handling this matter. While our anger is justified it is perhaps not necessary.

Get any mention of witcoin off your site then and instead of hosting furry conventions concentrate on getting peoples accounts back.

Are you serious?

We have been proven to have done nothing wrong.

You have falsely slandered us continuously. This has been proven.

Every slanderous word you have said continues to hurt us and our only association is having HELPED you.

You have offered no apology.

We are an innocent 3rd party who you have carelessly slandered to bring attention to your private matter.

All we have done is months ago given you FREE help with witcoin and in doing so listed it merely as a project we worked on. Before this slander you made no attempt to contact us and you have no reason to think that we are responsible or have any way of getting people's accounts back. We were never in possession of witcoin's bitcoins or anything related.

I am astonished you are responding like this. We have given you FREE help and publicity because we supported your project. You posted a highly slanderous thread against us. It is disparaging and every second this thread lingers it hurts our good name. THESE ARE THINGS PROVEN TO BE FALSE which you have posted without confirming (they have since been proven to be false).

You have lied and when confronted with the truth you have changed the title of this thread. But you have not rectified the situation. However, there has not been an apology and you continue to criticize us and demean us. A 3rd party that has no involvement with this matter.

Please act responsible and do not defer your responsibility. You should be dealing with your problems instead of creating problems for an unrelated 3rd party.

Before posting the slander you made no attempt to contact us. Even users of Intersango who do not understand why their bitcoin cashout isn't showing (they need to download the blockchain) sometimes email the consultancy email address if they do not get an immediate response from support@intersango.com

20  Economy / Currency exchange / Intersango switching banks, not taking UK GBP deposits until complete on: February 24, 2012, 12:43:22 AM
Dear Intersango Users,

We have been experiencing difficulties with the online banking for our UK based Lloyds account. They recently re-structured their systems, which has only exasperated the problems. The changes have made it effectively impossible to process transactions without massive amount of time. Incoming transactions over a certain number require an amount of work that is unmanageable. We will cease using the account.

In expectation of this we have been looking for a new bank for several weeks. We have found a bank who we expect to be able to deliver the performance our users demand. Our new account will be opening within the next week. The bank has reviewed Intersango and are surprisingly supportive of bitcoin. They are the first bankers who have taken the time to look at bitcoin and we are very pleased with them. We will be discontinuing the receipt of funds until this account is open. Do not worry if you have already sent funds. Transfers which do not bounce back will be processed.

We do not know exactly how long it will take us to integrate with our new bank but they seem very capable. We are simply waiting on the processing of our documents and have been told to expect the account open either on Saturday or early next week.

This effects UK-GBP customers only. USD, EUR, and PLN are not affected at all.

Intersango
