I noticed there's not as much information regarding staking with the Silk wallet as with some others. For instance, getstakinginfo doesn't return your staking weight, the network staking weight nor an expected time till next stake. Am I right in thinking Silk uses PoS v3 and so coin age isn't a factor?

My SLK withdrawal was processed. Silk team is doing a great job of making this transition smooth! Keep up the good work!
I would say something. But anything that questions this team, it's actions, timeline or the validity and security of my funds is removed and directed out of this thread. I'm not very certain about the transparency promise. Mods please delete, we have an unbeliever! ^

That's a nice quote. Wise words.

I wonder if you guys will find the easter egg in Silk Core.........
Hahaha I had to rub my eyes, a little lost camel just wandered by!

Thanks again. The withdrawal is now showing up and has 8 confirmations, but Weaver isn't showing any balance. I'll continue to wait, but once it's in my wallet should I be able to send coins out to Silk Core?
No Weaver swaps to SLK are being processed in the next 24-48 hours, after which you'll be able to withdraw to Silk Core. A lot of this stuff's already been asked by others, if you check SilkNetwork's post history there's a good chance there will be an answer within the last few posts. The OP is also full of useful info.

Thanks for the information, OrsonJ. I've made a Weaver account and am doing a small test transfer of SILK from Polo to Weaver, them from Weaver to Core. Will update with results.
EDIT: am also getting up to 16% CPU usage on my 8-core i7, Win x64.
EDIT 2: Poloniex shows a complete withdrawal, including a txid. Waiting a bit for it, but not looking promising... Can't find an old block explorer to check up on it anyways.
Explorer for the old chain: https://silkexplorer.silknetwork.org/

Cheers for the feedback guys. This is what I've got in top in a Lubuntu vm:
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 17833 user 20 0 1656724 116332 59736 S 99.7 4.7 8:55.76 silk-qt
I checked in a second Lubuntu vm on a different machine and was getting the same thing, and it was hovering at around that level for most of the time the wallet was open (fully synced). It is a weird one. I guess if it isn't happening to anyone else it must be something on my end. Only wish I knew what.

Poloniex does not allow withdrawal to new Silk Core addresses. How can I swap them out? Do I *have* to transfer to Bittrex, then from Bittrex to Core?
Poloniex had the old Silkcoin (SILK) listed. You'll need to swap them via Weaver to SLK, which is what Bittrex will be listing.

Got the new wallet running, looking good but is anyone else finding its CPU usage heavy? It's consistently using 100% of one core on my machine.
edit: Ubuntu 16.04 if it's any help.
That is very strange. Are you mining with 1 core? Are you sure it is Silk using that much? We tested the CPU usage to optimize the wallet so it was as fast as possible with as little resource utilization as possible. In Ubuntu 16.04 LTS 64 Bit, while staking, Silk-Qt used between 0.3 - 0.7% of a single core on an i5 It's definitely Silk as I had a look in top when I heard the fan speeding up. Let me check on another system.

To stop people losing coins to hackers who search for crypto wallets and steal coins, why not add 2FA to this coins wallet when its launched? vTorrent has released a new 2FA wallet feature and it runs great New features: -multiple windows for trading on bittrex -2FA via Google Authenticator -Key management -HD addresses -Block explorer If you add 2FA to your wallet don't forget to give the vTorrent devs some credit for this great security feature which will help all crypto projects. PM if you need some help with implementation. Give credit to the vTorrent devs if they add it? It's not even open source. Maybe you should have checked that before spamming this all over the place.

sent my coins from cryptopia, and still 0 confirmations after few hours now
Okay just a quick question..which wallet are you receiving the coins? The old or new esp wallet? cryptopia is still using esp 1. Cryptopia stated that they will not list the new chain until the end of swap. How is the current staking (POS) set up.. Rewards seem pretty good? Is it a set percent or variable? Thanks
PoS is working well, however monitoring the staking the chain might have to be brought to 5% sooner as the gain is very rapid. We'll monitor the situation for a little bit first. No cause for alarm it'll just be another update. I need some HELP, please!
I am using the old wallet, it did sync but for some reason, it does show only unconfirmed balance. I want to send my coins to NOvaexchange, but i cant cos of this. What should i do ? I got 500,000 EXP in my ESP1 wallet. It used to work very well, but now when i open it, after the syncing finishes it keeps saying unconfirmed 500,000 ESP.
What could be the problem? Help me, please
Best regards.
EDIT: I have 15 active connections to espers network.
Just forget about them. In old wallet -salvagewallet don't work. Backup your dat file and re-sync your chain. Should fix your issue, @Samai. Salvagewallet never really worked on btc either lol. It's not my problem. But new ESP chain have a huge problem. and it requires solutions Already taking care of one thing. Will have to update the windows client link on the ANN and announce when the new client is released (code fix not adding anything new yet). Nova will have their client recompiled within 30 minutes of change and it won't occur for another day or so. Nodes will follow suite. As for the ESP2 having huge issues idk about huge. Just an issue that needs attention and it's getting it What will the new pos reward scheme be?

Escrow only thanks

So now ESP must be swapped into ESP2.0 or its the same chain? Sorry for not reading hundreds of pages back.
Yes, different chain so must be swapped. See the very first post for a visual guide to swapping at nova.

Hi, I noticed the new source code isn't building on Ubuntu, is it still being worked on?
what errors you get? src/qt/blockbrowser.cpp: In member function ‘void BlockBrowser::updateStatistics()’: src/qt/blockbrowser.cpp:507:64: error: call of overloaded ‘toString(int64_t&)’ is ambiguous QString qVolume = QLocale(QLocale::English).toString(volume); ^
Follow this steps: 1. https://github.com/CryptoCoderz/Espers/blob/master/src/qt/blockbrowser.cpp#L507 change to QString qVolume = QString::number(volume); 2. Build wallet 3. Be happy! Good man! Thank you

Nope it should be working for Ubuntu. (at least daemon compiles fine) Will have a look at the issue you posted. We're working on getting a Nix GUI client up so we'll keep you posted. Great, looking forward to staking. Thanks for all your work guys.

Could we get some nodes please as the wallet isn't finding any. I see the explorer has 54 connections so just the addnodes from that would be fine. Thanks in advance.
