It can be as simple as two clicks. All that's needed is Bitcoin wallet app devs to implement the needed functionality.
Why not use something like OpenPGP that was designed for it? Why can't users have web-site login sub-keys they access with two clicks? Edit: thought on one possible reason: Bitcoin is standardized on one signature algorithm. Because not every Bitcoin user has some pgp software installed, but all of them use a Bitcoin wallet already. +1 and its much much easier to generate/use/mantain a new address/id than a gpg id. you can have ONE HD wallet (offline if you dont trust on you pc) only for ids, and can sign on every site you ever use ( only one pass, only one backup., lots of ids)

Nobody has access to the private key except your wallet.
..Unless you wallet is running on a compromised general-purpose machine. Call me paranoid; but you have to plan for the day Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, and Google may be compelled to steal your funds. If you are paranoid the only thing you must do is signing your message from a cold address. ( or trezor like device) And then login on your favourite site. you dont use the same wallet for cold storage (or even hot storage of funds) as the one you use for authentication....derp and where I said you had to use the same wallet or an address with funds why dont have as much id/addresses as you need and use different ids for each site you need a different id. if all this addresses comes from a cold wallet. you can sign offline and login without compromise your private key.

You can see the roadmap here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=427617.0Stealth addresses are not on the roadmap. AFAIK the stealth address specs haven't been finalized yet and that is stopping people from implementing them. This is a long journey. BIP38, multisig etc. have still not gotten widespread support after many years. HD wallets are just beginning to come out. Thank you. sorry to hear it multisign and stealh addr, are IMHO two of the most important security features since BIP38 and HD wallets.

Now, the pretty cool darkwallet has just been released.
Are stealth addresses going to be included in our favorite wallet any time soon?

I'm not selling my MSC, because I believe it is an awesome project, and I really think we are going to gain money in the next months. But said that, I cannot understand how people can have this mild criticism about this issue.
Pricing going from "16" to "42" depending on how you are paying is an unfair( or even illegal) movement for whatever IPO we are talking about.
Giving more msc, till prices are equal dont affect to the fundrising, except giving them more credibility. They didnt say clearly in their web that buying with msc would be much much cheaper, so If anyone, who transformed their btc into msc to exploit this IPO, loses this advantage is fair enough to me.
But this is only my opinion, and besides this "faulty" IPO. I'm still supporting the project.

This would probably set MS apart from all other IPO's, in the world, ever, and set a precedent of all IPO in crypto in the future. It would set the bar. It would also make MS be legit, and avoid endless scam at ts genesis
I invested 1 btc into this IPO because I find the concept interesting and it looks like it has potential. I think maidsafe knew that they screwed up the ipo, but it seems they're not willing to compensate the btc investors because it would eat further into the money they raised. I think it's in all of our interests (investors/maidsafe) to discuss this and reach a resolution as soon as possible, as it may grow into a bigger issue later on if left unchecked. They can compensate btc backers: 1) giving back some of the btc. 2) sending more maidsafecoins to the btc addresses both of them would be fair.
|
|
|
so lets do this
One way would be to send a % of BTC back to the BTC addresses to make equal to MSC. Lets see how legit they are.
We will call this Proof of Legitimacy. POL.
Crypto are unique in that we have a mechanism that is open, and relatively easy to do so that all IPO people in BTC can be put back to actual MSC / BTC rate. MS even have the list of all BTC addresses.
This would probably set MS apart from all other IPO's, in the world, ever, and set a precedent of all IPO in crypto in the future. It would set the bar. It would also make MS be legit, and avoid endless scam at ts genesis.
What will MS's IPO POL be, 0 or 100%, its not like they cant do this thing. They admit they were is error.
+1 If unfair price was a fact. they should try to fix it.

What percent of IPO was BTC/MSC?
50/50?

clonning an "official web" is not fair.
I can sell maidsafecoins 17000 per 1BTC Edit: even 20k...
Re-edit: Anyone interested? look at masterxchange.com
