The blockchain has been stuck for days... It shows the network is on 6133.. Well 6133 is the last block my pool solved, but also the current block? Strange.. I've reindexed the blockchain up and down and sideways and still coming up with the same result.. I think there's something funky with the Getnextworkrequired retarget function, I've been digging in the source. Not sure exactly what's going on but the debug log really looks strange. At the least we may need a checkpoint put in.

sent octocoinpool (dot) tk pool operator a message about gaps about an hour long where coins do not show up even though dashboard registers me mining. Not sure if it's faster to contact here or through pool's email.
Maybe just because your coins are unconfirmed? Not really sure, but I know everything has been working fine. |

I sent this same basic message to the Octocoin dev but haven't heard anything yet. The transactions been sitting in my wallet for a couple days now unconfirmed. There must be something that can be done right, it'd be pretty damn upsetting to loose out on 50000+ Octocoin. The transaction happened around the time the block explorer site went off line, is it possibly related??
1. Make a backup of your wallet.dat 2. Create a shortcut of octocoin-qt.exe 3. Right-click on the shortcut -> properties 4. Write "-salvagewallet" behind the command in the target line (like octocoin-qt.exe -salvagewallet) 5. Save it 6. Double-click on the shortcut 7. If the wallet is broken, replace it with your backup wallet (still hold a copy of it!) 8. I'll try adding the explorer to the pool but I think the only thing that's gonna work is the TX explorer since it appends the TXID to the URL.

i deposit 5 octocoin and i have 10 octos now  I noticed Keeping an eye on the console and wallet to make sure there's no problems. Just make sure when you're finished to withdraw to your address. If you clear cookies while you have coins in the game they will get lost! |

Edit: seems to work fine with multiple players clicking at once, I see the pieces disappear in realtime same as it comes across the server console, so good! A decent strategy is to bet .01, I've noticed I lose pretty quick betting .1 but .01 I can usually do better than break even. |

I see someone's playing! If you get an error, 207, I think, would be because you've wiped out the bank. I'll keep an eye open. It's pretty easy to break even or come out ahead if you play for awhile. I'm getting a "crash" course in node.js but starting to understand the code a little better, so I'm going to try and get an idea of the odds and randomness the game's betting engine uses. The point being is that I'd like it to be as fair as possible.

Also, please note, I still have a few changes to make, so anything referencing "Bitcoin" on the site is in fact referencing 888. My version does not pay out or receive BTC at all, only 888. If you click on a blue box and get an error that a bet has already been placed, it's likely because of another player online at the same time, not sure how it handles updating the game graphics across different sessions.

A couple of things, when the "remaining button" counter gets to 0, you'll need to refresh the page. Also, don't clear your cookies while you have coins in your account, you'll LOSE them! As of right now, I'm considering this a beta test, though it seems to be working as it should be. As always, don't gamble any more than you can afford to lose! I seeded some coins into the game's wallet, so it should be good to go until you guys clean me out! I'm playing too, lol. Have fun! |

Bird pool is back online. Whether it stays that way is up to the miners! It's been empty for the last several days. Likely because solo mining is just too darn easy. I soloed a couple of blocks with only 10kh.

Haha, thanks There's one thing I'm noticing, since I'm testing the game, I withdrew my coins and was charged a .02 tx fee (1.7 coins), after that it showed my game account balance as -.02, so next I deposit 1 coin, and it did deduct that .02, so it looks like it is passing TX fees to the user. I wasn't aware there were tx fees for small transactions like that. Ok, I got a question real quick before I start making changes to the game code and let you guys play. Right now, bet sizes are .0001, .001, .01, and .1. What do you say I knock off the .0001 and make it where bets are .001, .01, .10, and 1.0? Sound better? Edit: for now I'm leaving off 1.0, if the bank gets emptied it will obviously cause problems! 10 minutes. |
