The game WORKS! Finally! Huge props to the original dev, who's been very patient with me and worked with me over skype awhile to squash some problems. Now I've just gotta make lots of tiny mods, because the game is setup for Bitcoin. I've successfully tested it, though, and it works! Give me a couple of hours or so and you guys will be able to play.

Good news guys... I'm one step closer to having our betting game going.. We have the app at least running now, problem is it won't bind port 80 at the same time as apache, and when I change ports on it, even pointing the html client at it, it won't work. Node.js is just... strange. I'll figure it out eventually, and there will be GAMBLING! lol

Pool is being temporarily taken offline, if there continues to be interest I will bring it back. For the time being I need the server for something else.

We have a 32MH miner on the pool.. I'm jealous. Shocked

and take a look at the movement on bittrex! seems like a nice low-key trading site, not going anywhere near cryptorush with a 20 foot pole...

by the way i finally made the switch to fedaykin's pool, been meaning to for a while just too lazy Wink gotta spread the hash-love around baby! i'm diggin' the UI too, it's not like any other pool's i've used before, but it's well laid-out, clear, and concise. it feels both familliar and alien at the same time.

Well, thanks for switching over! We're at 130MH now, I didn't expect that! Awesome.

I've been going round and round in circles trying to get our game running. I think I've gotta take a break. I'm getting a bit burned out and my eyes feel like they're about to rot inside my head.

Guys, I'm really sorry for the delays getting our 888 betting game up and running. I was hoping to have it going night before last. I keep missing the developer on skype, he lives in Georgia (the other Georgia lol), so our times are pretty much opposite. I'm pretty excited about getting it going, so I'm doing my best!

BRD market was removed from coin-swap.. How lovely. At least they sent my coins back..

Could anyone please help me out, buy 103M Birdcoin at .5 BTC? I'm getting a bit desperate now, I'm about to go under.

How about promoting the coin instead of being desperate. You will make MUCH more money that way.

Yeah, seems like a good plan, lol.. Anyway, time of desperation has passed, the servers are paid for and will stay alive!

Anyway, I need to ask but I think dallas was going to make up another thread to get some more visibility. I'm supporting Bird from behind the scenes, maintaining the project, pool, and will be setting up other services as well.

Please bear with me for a bit, folks. DigitalOcean, in their infinite wisdom, decided that I may not be who I say I am and asked me to verify my identity, so after I filled out their form, they shut off my servers pending a scan of my ID. I have sent that to them and am waiting to hear back. I don't understand why all of a sudden they treat me this way, I've always had nothing but pleasant conversations with their support staff.

Ew, DigitalOcean is bad!

I've had really good experiences with them, up until tonight.. They responded to me really fast, though, and the pool is back up and running. I understand the need to verify clients identities, especially when their server hardware is being used in a manner such as this, but the way they did it, ewww. Here's exactly what happened... A few days ago, I opened a support ticket to inquire about billing, because I knew I'd be late with my payment for this month. They responded, letting me know it's ok, and just let them know the date of my payment, etc, so I did.. Tonight, I go log in just to check and make sure there's no big evil billing warnings or anything, and get stuck on a page that's telling me I must verify my identity, so I punch in my info. A few minutes later, as I'm working on one of the servers via SSH, it stops responding, so I knew something was up. I try to log into my panel and it's telling me my account is blocked due to a billing issue. So I go into the support page and see a ticket telling me "thanks for sending my identity information, we also need a scan of your ID" and to email it to them. I figured since they shut me off because of the ID thing they surely wouldn't turn me back on while my account is past due, but not long after I sent them a photo of my ID, bam, they turned it back on and just reminded me of my bill. I'd say that's a little bit above and beyond expectations, to say the least. So, I've got to give them props for that! The shutdown did murder the DB in one of my other pools, though...

Anyway, you guys get your butts back to http://tesla.fedaykin.us and mine! :b

Just found teslax3 and just joined your pool. There are only 3 buy orders very small on the 1 exchange and Im the only miner. Ill be here for a few days, but is this coin dead?

It does seem so, but only we, the community can do something about this. We need some kind of publicity campaign!

hello everybody,

who think 1  octcoin = 1 dollar  in the futur ?

edric i can't at this moment sent you btc but i can give you 5 % octcocoin when i mining (fedyakin's) pool.  i send you btc  when i have .

you are a good man and work very hard for the communauté .

you work on a bet 888 ?

Yes, I've been working on getting a betting game working for 888. I'm in touch with the original dev for the game I'm working on, he's gonna help me get it running. Some kind of node.js dependency issue, and admittedly, I'm out of my depth there.

I appreciate your donations! It makes every hour spent at my computer worth it!

to fusionhash, I have tried in several ways to get an answer from you guys, my murray coin account does not work please help me out 2 weeks still no reaction.

I can mine, but withdrawing coins doesn't work. The biggest issue I have is that I initially tried to withdraw to an address that now is unusuable (lost passphrase). So I want to make sure that any open withdrawals are canceled so that I can withdraw to a new address and not loose my coins,

Could you please stop any open transactions / withdrawals and make sure I can withdraw again from my account. You have not been reacting to posts/ emails/ contactforms so I try it through the octo forum now.

please help and give me an emailaddress where I can send details to.

I'm going to go out on a limb and speculate that they have some sort of trouble with their email configuration with their pool.. I've had trouble with mine as well, but I've tested pretty rigorously lately, it -should- be working properly.

The problem is (this is a feature of MPOS, not a glitch) is that if your account is "locked" from trying to incorrectly sign in too many times, no amount of password reset emails will unlock, admin has to unlock it first before you can reset it.

Ok, I un-borked the database.. It left us with quite a few blocks that were found, but unaccounted, so I'm going to take the amount of Coin that is in the pool's "Liquid Assets" and proportion it out to the people who were mining, pla8896, MrCon, and mmx888. I'll only be able to approximate it based on your shares in a current round.. I'm really sorry for the mess, but it's really the best I can do given the circumstances. I appreciate you guys!

Edit: Sent Wink

I hope I got it right.. I went by your share percentages for a round right before the pool went offline.

Hopefully that's our only hiccup for a good long while.

Had a problem with my hosting provider and the server was shut off for a bit. Unfortunately, this did some damage to our DB, I'm currently working on fixing it.

Ok, they're back on.. Give me a minute to fire back up the daemons and fix the crons!

PS. I am having a heart attack.

Ok, I am about ready to explode right now. I logged into my panel at DigitalOcean, and there was a notice asking me to verify my identity, so I did. I put in all my information, and how was I rewarded? They shut off all my servers and opened up a support ticket telling me I need to send a scan of my ID. Ok, sure, not a problem, you could have asked me to do that BEFORE shutting them off. I just responded to their requests so I'm hoping they'll get them back on quickly. I'm a bit astonished that they'd actually do it that way, instead of just emailing me and asking politely.

Will report back in a bit.

Edric, I can't wait to see your super secret surprise game Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool

It's not really all that exciting, but it is different from all the "satoshidice" games out there. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on the script that runs ggdice.com, though, very nice.

Hey guys, sorry for the delay but I've finally gotten around to doing the giveaway. I went ahead and did 3 weeks worth since I've been running behind on everything. Congrats to users dzaky1982, adam, and bioplague05! Each winner received 628.33 888!

In other news, I still haven't been able to pay my hosting provider, right now I'm about $70 behind and just don't have much assets to cash in. I've spent a great deal of time in the last few weeks on a Freelancer programming project, but haven't gotten my milestone payment yet, and starting to have doubts as to the intentions of who I'm working for. There's a few other coins I have been working on but as of yet I've been unable to sell or trade anything to get everything fixed up! Seems like everything has been blowing up in my face lately, and definitely is costing me more than I get back, but hoping in the long run that it pays off. I really don't want to sell what 888 I do have saved up, but it looks like I'm going to have to do that tonight, though it's only about 4800, not enough to pay the bills! Everything would have been fine if I hadn't got an unexpected charge on my account that ate up last month's savings. Any donations or loans would be gladly accepted and very much appreciated (and the favor will be returned eventually)! Also, very soon, hopefully within a couple of days, I'll finally have a game up and running where you can place bets and win 888 (not dice, it's a surprise), just have to squash a couple of bugs.

0.2 BTC sent - no need to repay. Keep up the good work, edric.

WOW! gotta love the Octo devs for this Smiley nonetheless, i committed $8. .0214 btc sent. there's your cherry on top Smiley the way btc is dropping today, you better cash it now before that doesn't = $8 hehehehehee

Oh man, THANKS guys! Seriously, I love being part of a community of people who'll help each other out in a time of need! I really hate asking for donations and it's really hard to just come out and admit that I'm in financial trouble, because I really am trying to provide a dependable and trustworthy service and maintain as professional an appearance as possible, but you can imagine how stressful it is knowing you may get shut down soon! Anyways, I've got quite a few things in the works, there's several projects that I'm working to revive and make to work with OctoCoin, some are old, broken and unsupported, but the one I'm working on getting running in the next couple of days is a game written in node.js, I'm just trying to figure out the dependencies on it and it'll be going. I've never touched node.js before, ever, so I'm getting a crash course (literally). Once it's done, though, you'll be able to gamble your hard-earned Octos! I'd be more than willing to set up some kind of brainwallet or faucet, though I see that coinok already has one. Ya'll just let me know if there's anything you want/need and I'll do my best to help out. I have a lot of time on my hands right now and I'm hoping to build up more services around Octo.

Again, I very much appreciate the donations! It's going straight into the server fees and will keep things going for at least another month!
