181  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin goes up very high should i buy a house? on: October 31, 2015, 10:36:13 PM
Always good to cash out a chunk of your investment when you make a good profit.

I've made big mistakes in the past holding on to a stock for example and then watch it correct afterwards
182  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Hits Highest Level Since August on: October 31, 2015, 10:34:41 PM
Fingers crossed that it keeps going higher! Impossible to predict unfortunately
183  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin surpassed $300 USD. on: October 31, 2015, 10:33:44 PM
Hopefully this is just the beginning! Back up we go!
184  Economy / Gambling / Re: After losing all your Bitcoin on: October 31, 2015, 10:09:03 PM
I guess it's the same feeling as going to the Casino and the ATM blocking your card from further withdrawals forcing you to go home!
185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there a difference between buying shares in the stock exchange and gambling? on: October 31, 2015, 10:07:55 PM
If you are patient with stocks, you will make money on the long term by investing in the index.
If you invest in particular stocks, there is always a chance that it doesn't do too well, but then again there is a chance that you do much better than the index!

With gambling, it's all based on luck and odds, and the thrill of course Smiley
186  Economy / Gambling / Re: ☼ ☁ Weathbet.com ☁ ☼ - Bet on weather condition - BTC, LTC, DOGE on: October 07, 2015, 06:08:36 PM

For those who played on it, would love to get some feedback!
187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you used Bitcoin as Real money to buy Real/physical goods? on: October 07, 2015, 06:06:22 PM
Only online for the time being. Looking forward to spending it in real life though!
Just waiting for my favorite stores to start accepting it Smiley
188  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you agree people barrow money for gambling? on: October 07, 2015, 06:02:43 PM
Definitely a horrible horrible idea. Only gamble with what you can AFFORD TO LOSE.

If you're borrowing money to gamble, you're better off reaching out to a gambling assistance program!
189  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: October 07, 2015, 05:59:36 PM
It all depends on your level of risk. The vast majority of people will call you crazy, as the probability is higher of someone 100% focused in a young technology doesn't end up making it, but then again that's exactly how millionaires and billionaires are made.

Fortune favors the brave!
190  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: October 07, 2015, 05:56:16 PM
Absolutely impossible to give you an answer on this, as NOBODY knows what the price of btc will be in 20 years.
Sure everyone can guess, and someone will be close, but predicting the future value of an asset or currency is simply impossible. Same goes for any currency, art, stock, real estate, etc.

Include btc as a part of a BALANCED portfolio of assets!
191  Economy / Economics / Re: Thoughts on "holding" Bitcoin on: October 07, 2015, 05:54:28 PM
Holding any foreign currency is a speculative move, sometimes you gain, sometimes you lose, and holding domestic currency is a sure way to loss long term wise. Holding bitcoin short term is no different than holding a foreign currency, but long term wise the perspective is brighter

I agree with him 100%. It's all about the gains you make relative to your base currency!
192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Describe BITCOIN in ONE word. on: October 07, 2015, 05:52:20 PM
Improvement
193  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: October 07, 2015, 05:41:08 PM
A lot of people say that porn is, or will be Bitcoin's "Killer" feature
So many people pay for porn and risk getting caught or exposed for it. With BTC, a lot of these worries disappear!
194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many friends did you recommend bitcoin to? Did they accept it? on: October 07, 2015, 05:39:06 PM
Our group got introduced and started following bitcoin all at the same time.
About ~10 of us now that are into it and use it!
195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the biggest scam that's ever been in Bitcoin? on: October 07, 2015, 05:29:46 PM
Mt. Gox without a shadow of a doubt.

Everything else pales in comparison!
196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: currency or investment? on: October 07, 2015, 05:27:52 PM
I believe it's a currency.

Many people buy currencies as investments just like they do BTC. (Ex: buying EUROS because I think the price will increase and then selling it when the exchange rate is more favorable, etc...)

BTC is new and therefore that might be why people see it more as an investment for the time being, but ultimately it's a currency IMO.
197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel about the negative reputation of the bitcoin currency? on: October 07, 2015, 05:25:05 PM
I'm definitely hoping that with time, the reputation will get better and better.

We need more stuff like this to start happening:
