181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pre-ICO] TexCoin.io - Revolutionizing International Trade - AIRDROP! on: September 26, 2017, 09:43:49 PM
I have sent you a pm. Thanks and best wishes for a successful project!
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is any crypto truly scalable to a global scale? BTC, ETH, IOTA, DCR, PIVX...? on: September 26, 2017, 07:49:05 PM
And now we have this, a new ledger architecture named Tempo which consists of three fundamental components:

-A networked cluster of nodes
-A global ledger database distributed across the nodes
-An algorithm for generating a cryptographically secure record of temporally ordered events.

See the new Radix announcement thread here:

183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: September 25, 2017, 06:17:49 PM
Hi, I use the IOTA Mac Wallet since about a month, is there anything I need to to? Update, new download? Can I just use my seed to get access then?

Thank you in advance

Yes, upgrade to the new GUI v2.5.1 which was released just yesterday. If you don't want to miss important updates I recommend that you join the announcements room of the official slack group and/or the telegram news-only feed: https://t.me/iotatoken
(I leave notifications on... nothing like getting a mandatory update alert at 4:00 a.m.  Cheesy )
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: September 25, 2017, 06:03:26 PM
Just wanted to make people aware of a site called https://megaexchange.trade/ which looks very much like a scam site.

I sent 1 Gbyte there to exchange, with no response.  I wrote to them and the site suddenly went down as soon as I did (or at least it has decided not to respond to this IP address, which is on DHCP so changes sometimes).  A couple of days later it came online.  I'd saved the transaction number and the content of my email before sending, so sent again today.  What do you know the site went down again ("Internal Sever Error" is what it displays).  I'm curious to know if it 'appears' to have an error if anyone else tries to view the site.

I also saved the send and receive addresses, and it can be seen that it was received without issue, and promptly moved here:

https://explorer.byteball.org/#W6GFF5J7USIMLNAXT2GSSXHIUPJVYEO4

When searching google I can't find anything suggesting it is a scam (which is what I looked for before sending to the site since I'd never heard of it), so I'm writing this now to at least start the ball rolling, and strongly suggest that nobody use it.

Lack of information and reviews about an exchange service is a huge red flag. They don't even have contact information (just a generic form) and no social media accounts associated with them which is even worse.
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RadixDLT (formerly eMunie) Discussion on: September 25, 2017, 05:33:03 PM
Impressive White Paper!
The Sharding/Logical Clocks concept is fascinating though I can't say I fully understand the tech yet.
Congratulations to the Radix team for this important milestone.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW XBY ANN] XTRABYTES - INTEGRATIVE MODULAR BLOCKCHAIN INNOVATIONS on: September 24, 2017, 06:37:37 PM
I believe XBY is safe, scalable and unique and once people get their head around it and get the AHAH!! moment that with due respect to other individual decentralised ICO projects will wipe the floor with all of them cause they wont have the sustainable internal economy that XBY will provide or the connectivity of having everything under one decentralised 'roof'.

In short its FUCKING HUGE!!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin[/b]
All we need is a 3 character tweet endorsement by Charlie Lee or someone of that caliber. (see his 'buy DCR now' tweet).  Wink
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Request Network - A decentralized network for payment requests on: September 24, 2017, 11:03:53 AM
Such perspective project, and such silent topic.
Now there is a registration in slack. All participants slack of Request will be included in the white list. Time till September 30.

In more detail
https://blog.request.network/request-networks-token-sale-terms-overview-ca4278606c3

Also wondering why this thread is so silent. I learned about this project almost by accident and am very impressed by the vision and quality of the team. I think that the most exciting prospect relates to IOT (machine to machine economy) and AI. We are at the cusp of one of the most disruptive technologies in human history and perhaps this project can position itself as one of the leading pioneers.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: September 23, 2017, 03:08:00 PM
Hi! What do you think about Ethereum Raiden network?? Is it competitor for IOTA?? It will grow faster as the number of users goes higher, used for micro transactions and IoT transactions, as per Raiden devs... Can somebody clear this out??

Lightning and Raiden are only payment channels and can't transfer data as IOTA does. IOTA can transfer value and data freely in the network.

Could this be solved with the implementation of Raidos which is part of the Raiden project? It is currently in its planning phase and described on the raiden network website as followed:
"Raidos (or Raiden 2.0, “dos” is spanish for "two") is a proposed sidechain technology to generalize state channels. While the Raiden Network is limited to ERC20 token transfers, Raidos aims to scale Ethereum’s generalized computation capabilities through a network of satellite chains, which can host any smart contract. This technology is similar and complementary to Ethereum's sharding."

In regards to your future plans for integration with IOT, have you considered developing sensor chips of your own or are you taking an agnostic approach? Also, do you see yourself competing directly with MODUM & Waltonchain?
Thank you

190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [RPX] Red Pulse Token – Next Generation Intelligence and Content Ecosystem on: September 22, 2017, 04:25:52 PM
I bought 200 neo @ 33.5 $ for red pulse before the china ico ban issue. Now i am regretting it very much.
I never know what to make out of comments such as this. Do you regret not timing the market perfectly or anticipating china's ban? When the FUD is over and prices recover & beyond (as they usually do), will you regret not buying more?
It is said that hope and regret are an investor's worst enemies.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NoLimitCoin NLC for Fantasy Sports Game [SHA256d][PoW/PoS][ICO] on: September 22, 2017, 03:51:21 PM
My Mac qt wallet is still offline after a couple of hours. Is there anything I should do to connect to the network? My Network setting are on the default  "Map port using UPnP". Also, will I need to keep the wallet always online in order to stake?
Thanks!

You may just need to wait for it to download the block chain. It can take a number of hours depending on your Internet connection speed.

ok, thanks. It's actually a couple of days (!) now and still no connection. I'll try of a different setup of computer and network.
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Wanchain - Connecting blockchains to exchange value on: September 22, 2017, 03:48:29 PM
The idea of having your own virtual teller window in this future “bank” is incredible!
Will the platform allow users with zero knowledge of smart contracts programming to easily create teller functionalities?
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Initial Investment Amount on: September 21, 2017, 01:28:43 PM
I don't know, I think these freebies aren't really worth the effort, unless you happen to find something really good, which doesn't happen too often.

Time spent on this kind of stuff could be put to so much better use, perhaps learn a valuable skill which you could then offer in return for Bitcoin.

If I had to choose between spending a week looking for giveaways or other free crypto-related stuff or spend that time learning how to build a website or programming, I'd choose the latter. It's a far better investment of my time.

There's never enough time to do all the nothing you want.  Wink Cheesy
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NeuCoin - Easy to use, free to try, focused on micropayments - Official on: September 21, 2017, 01:05:30 PM
why is over? what we need to run it?

The developers released a statement here:
http://blog.neucoin.org/post/153643496591/neucoin-project-update-foundation-to-cease
As a platform for social tipping, they failed to retain active users so there was no point to carry on. As far as I remember, that was the last time we heard from them.

let's recover it by ourselfs  Roll Eyes

That would be nice, can you lead this effort? Wink
However ,imho, reviving a coin for the sake of bringing it back to life makes no much sense.. we now have newer coins that emphasize community support and enhance features to attract mass adoption. Some examples: Decred, Byteball, DeepOnion...
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: September 20, 2017, 07:45:24 PM
Some of the projects are establishing strong partnerships with top ranked companies and governments. As we are rapidly moving towards more regulation of crypto assets, I would probably add at least one of these to my portfolio: IOTA, OMG, NEO, XEM, XRP, ETH, WAVES.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Airdrops on: September 20, 2017, 06:36:33 PM
Hello dear bitcointalk community, would you like to tell me where i can find actual airdrops?
Does exist the thread of airdrops ANN?

Just search the announcements section, there's always airdrops and giveaways happening, also a lot of bouties to work on, you can make some real money there, but you need to do your own research and work.

Also join the crypto community in one of the many telegram and slack channels. It can be a daunting task to keep up with the inflow of daily information, but if you pay attention you will discover many hidden gems. Look at my signature for a really good one  Wink

198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WavesGo - The Official Blockchain Explorer of the Waves Platform on: September 19, 2017, 04:49:30 PM
Will the profits generated by WavesGo be shared with all WGO holders via additional airdrops or was the airdrop a one time event? (I understand that WGO tokens are also rewarded on an ongoing basis to those who are leasing with you.). thanks!
199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin needs to be worth $1,000,000 to be a legitimate currency on: September 18, 2017, 01:30:15 PM
It argues that the success of Bitcoin as a currency depends on sentimental value consensus. The issue I have with this argument is that when Bitcoin will be considered a legitimate currency (which personally I feel it already is), it's dollar value will be irrelevant. The article's argument only serves those who undermine decentralized cryptocurrencies as a superior alternative.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AMP - The Currency That Powers Your Attention On Synereo on: September 18, 2017, 12:33:47 PM
As an ex-holder i still follow this thread, and there is one thing that still baffles me.

There is not a single post since wildspark came out, that talks about how cool, useful, exciting, and profitable it is, to use the plugin.

Not one.

That should tell you a lot. But everyone just talks about the price.
I might be back once someone actually gets excited from the product.

As good as a product this may be, notice the cynical wording they use to describe the motivation in building this browser plugin: "Synereo’s founders have been working on decentralized, liberated attention economy solutions since 2014."
So the solution for the problem of a centralized social media platform such as youtube is to reward it's users with a decentralized token via a plugin?
I'll try to keep an open mind but somehow this reminds me of the Emperor's New Clothes story.
