I recently sent a transaction to a gambling account of mine, and since I was feeling a little poor, I didn't put in a transaction fee. It's been two days, and I've started wondering. When will my bitcoin arrive in this account?
Furthermore, what's the average transaction time of: 1) No fee 2) 0.0002 BTC fee 3)0.0005 BTC fee 4) 1 BTC fee
Thanks for all answers that come my way!
If bitcoin network in normal status, 0.0001BTC is enough for fee, your transaction will be included in the next block. If you include no fee, maybe your transaction will be included within 6 blocks, it need up to 1 hour to finish your transaction. 0.0002 BTC and 0.0005 BTC are used by me when unconfirmed transactions amount are so many. When unconfirmed transactions are many, 0.0002 BTC fee need up to 6 blocks. If you input 0.0005 BTC, your transaction will be included in the next block. If you are have so many BTC, maybe you can try to input 1 BTC to fee . Average time to find a new block is about 1-15 minutes. Me? 1 BTC? Lol, you gotta be kidding me. What's the reason I didn't put in any fee in the first place? I was just wondering if it's been don't before, or if it will be instantly confirmed.

OK thanks guys. So it's like a pool of transactions, the ones with the highest fees are put of higher priority, and my transaction will only go in when all the others above are processed?

BTC Should I continue to use Coinbase? Seems pretty popular and secure, but you can never be sure.
You should stop using Coinbase, or any web wallet. Those wallets are typically not secure, and they don't give you access to your private keys, meaning that the service can spend the Bitcoin for you should they wish to do so. Instead go with a desktop wallet. If you want something quick and easy to use, I recommend Electrum. If you want security, I recommend Bitcoin Armory. However, Bitcoin Armory, like Bitcoin Core, will need to download the full blockchain which takes up 40+ Gb of space. What's wrong with blockchain.info? I find it easy to use, simple and seems secure enough. It also syncs for you!

Why is bitcoin purposely made hard to mine? Is it to replicate real, physical mining?
|
|
|
Uh... Sorry if I'm horribly dumb, but if there's a decreasing supply, why is the coin going down? Shouldn't the price go up as it gets rarer?

I'm really split between buying a card and quitting ;~; what, with the btc per block halving every know and then. Another question.
Why do blocks halve the reward every 210000 blocks (I think) ? Is it too replicate the idea of real, physical mining, where a resource gets scarcer and scarcer?

Bitcoin is NOT a currency!
In it's simplest form it is just payment rails. Stop thinking about is as currency and what is left to regulate?
If a merchant selling a pair of jeans for $250 accepts a 1 bitcoin and customer 2 weeks later asks for a refund with a value of a bitcoin going up to $300. Is he going to get 1 bitcoin back or a value of the jeans he bought? Naturally, the value, which means 3/4 of a bitcoin at the time of the refund. So, how does it make bitcoin a currency. ITS NOT!
What do you think?
Well, if you pay the hundred dollars for jeans, and your currency goes up, you will get three hundred when you refund he jeans. Ur logic is weird :'|
