Woot!  I decided to try a rental service... holy cow!  I've got a little over 10 Th/s going on.  This is pretty awesome for a small timer like me!

Well I hope we hit a block early and you make some money!

Payout cron crashed for some reason.  Looking into it with the help of johnny bravo.  Ill get your BTC sent out manually if i have to.  It is safe.

Apparently this is a problem with 0.12.0.  and the RPC user.  Will have to manual payout.  Will sit down tonight about 11:00pm and manually pay everyone.     (should have just left 0.11.2)

I have NO IDEA why NH wouldn't touch my order...

I DID set up a new pool with the 3334 port -- everything else the same...

It was for 1PH -- and started at .0032 -- orders were getting filled at .0031...

I RAISED the price to .0033 -- and STILL NO fulfillment...

Oh well -- I tried -- the order was placed an hour ago and it is now my bedtime...

Good luck everyone!!!

There is a whole lot of hashing going on right now.   You will probably start as a few of those other orders complete.

So I signed up for this pool tonight and put my single Antminer S1 on it.  I have two S3s that I might send over also.  I see it's been almost a month since a block was found.  I can't imagine if I brought around 1.1 Th/s that I'd really make much, especially since the blocks aren't coming very fast.  Then again, I'm relatively new and don't know too much about how pools work and/or payouts.  Even the payout system explanation is so full of jargon and reads like graduate student's physics dissertation.

Why not do something like this... (using Slush's Pool as an example)

"Whatever your Hash Rate is at the time a block is found will determine your reward.  Found a block while having a high hash rate?  Awesome!  You made more than someone with a lower hash rate.  Turned off your equipment for 12 hours and no blocks were found in that 12 hour period?  Awesome!  It didn't hurt you at all since no blocks were found.  No blocks?  No reward!  In fact, you got lucky and saved some electricity!  But understand, if we had found a block during that 12 hours that you had a 0 hash rate... you would have made NOTHING!  So always keep your hash rate high so your reward is maximized."

Anyway, it was nice making .01 BTC every 2 days (since I have free electricity and am only operating at about 1.1 Th/s) but now it seems to be every 3-4 days on Slush's Pool.  It's pretty fun to help start something!

That would only work on a huge pool that is finding blocks  in hours.  It is not a bad idea but during the build up there would be 0 incentive for people to keep there miner here for weeks while a block was found.  The pool is here to stay and we will find more blocks.   Even with a bad round the payouts will come a lot faster than a month as the hash rate increases.  Who is to say that a year from now if we can manage to get to a multi PH/s point that we wont do that.  I really do appreciate your input and I will take all the Hash you can bring our way.  I hope you can get on here and make some BTC.

268  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Empty transaction blocks on: March 08, 2016, 01:54:37 PM

401582 14:50:11 / 401583 14:50:36 = 21 Seconds
401556 10:03:58 / 401557 10:04:39 = 41 seconds
401538 07:35:40 / 401539 07:36:39 = 59 seconds
401511 02:48:24 / 401512 02:48:52 = 28 Seconds

I will say I stand corrected on not seeing empty blocks but all the above were no where close to the estimated 10 minutes per block that the ecosystem that bitcoin is based on.  I do agree some more diversity as to the pool would be good for bitcoin.  After all I have a pool and am running core 0.12.0 over classic or the other options.  People are never going to leave the big pool though and loose the constant dust that they are getting.

2 Blocks in 1 Weeks seems not very atractive for my small miners..
i would eanr less than i would orn on an bigger pool with some more ph/s

i think thoose like gawminer and some are also using the big pools Wink

Thanks for your input.  What exactly are you hashing with?

273  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Empty transaction blocks on: March 08, 2016, 06:22:19 AM
If you find a block 30 seconds after another block is found and there is no backlogged que at all maybe.  Its been a long time since i have seen any empty block.  I have seen some small ones but not empty.

my best share so far is a poultry: 910,529,102

edit: are the difficulty settings too low? an Antminer S7 running 9.56K Difficulty?
can I push my S5 with a high diff like your suggestion for the S7?
At this pool you can not manually set the difficulty. Port 3333 is set to vardiff and will set an appropriate diff for your device. We have found that the diff is usually higher than the standard. (IE standard diff for s7 is 4.7k but seeing diff range between 6-15k)

The other port 3332 is for smaller devices with a var diff starting at 1 and working its way up to appropriate levels to accomodate slower rigs.

The 3332 port is fixed for like Video Cards and stuff.  It is the only thing that would that low.  s1 should be on on 3334 Pretty much everything else should just run the vardiff 3333.    It just controls the rate at which the shares come in.  No effect on the best share.
276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Block size increase - when? on: March 07, 2016, 08:18:22 AM
I looked into converting to classic from normal core.  Pretty much every pool that is willing to put up classic (2meg block instead of 1meg) gets dDos'ed into oblivion until they go back to traditional core.  At this point I think the core developers will finally have to make the decision to make the jump, we are just now to the point that they will have to.  I think the stability of the chain will eventually force there hand.  Doubling the block size does not seem that extreme to me, however I know that there are a lot of people out there smarter than I am.
277  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Anyone tried Spicepay.com buying BTC with Paypal? on: March 07, 2016, 08:10:44 AM
Anyone tried Spicepay.com buying BTC with Paypal? They seems to take only 5-6%, but the account needs to be ID verified, which I don't like it much, but they are legit I'm willing to try. Please share your opinions. Thanks.

Why would they need to ID verify you?  Tax purposes?
278  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is the price sloping down? on: March 07, 2016, 05:51:21 AM
There don't need to be a reason for the price to go up or down. The entire market is under control of the wealthy traders that just keep the market moving. One week the price might go up and the other week it will go down. Beside that, if you ask people for the reason behind a price movement, people will come up with plenty of theories.

Agreed!  All value goes up and down with the big money!

280  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is the price sloping down? on: March 06, 2016, 05:33:16 AM
I goes up and down like this all the time.  4 months ago it was $230.  It has been up for a month or so now.  Time for a little slump.  It will be back.
