That's really shame for giant company like Twitter. Twitter is like haven for crypto currency users. From past few years we continuously seeing this kinda pathetic news. If this is going to happening every moment then people won't believe twitter anymore. They should shut down their platform and they should find out their lick and working on it. And people should stay away from any kinda Twitter giveaway for a while.

Can't do and won't work. There is a reason why projects paid their own crypto instead of stablecoin. The overpaying is a non-issue compared to problem like they have to pay money when they are trying to sell their crypto to gain it. See, the risk of their crypto underpaying will only on bounty hunters instead worry about overpaying and put the risk on the project.
