What caught my attention in yesterday's fixture was that Chelsea got the 3rd place. And not because they won, but because Everton managed to get a tie against Tottenham. It was a great gift from Everton to Chelsea  I don't think there's any difference for finishing either 3rd or 4th position in the premier league, In the end both teams are automatically qualified for group stages of the Champions League next season, except if there's a difference in the what the FA would pay respective teams for finishing in either position, but I still doubt it would be a significant difference for the club, if it were to be so.
