It is not just about the money and with the recent win of Manny Pacquiao to Lucas Martin Matthysse, that will really build up another heat to any of his past opponents. I don't think Mayweather cares too much about pleasing the fans, that's just part of his stage persona. He is Floyd "Money" Mayweather after all, his primary focus is in his name. His record is pretty much the best in history right now, and there is nothing to gain record-wise from beating Pacquiao again other than money.
