762  Economy / Economics / Re: Holdings of gold vs Holdings of btc on: February 10, 2016, 09:45:22 AM
Does anyone have any idea how many people are using gold as a store of value vs btc?  And how long do you think until we have the same user Base as holders of gold?
i think more people use gold for store of value, because all of people can do this, gold is more popular in this world. i think need more than 10 years for bitcoin to reach same users like gold holders.

768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Should you stay or should you go? on: February 10, 2016, 08:13:13 AM
Without a defining killer app, I am confident that Bitcoin will, in fits and starts, inevitably return to its 2009 levels. It would be pointless to guess how long that process will take; or when that killer app will appear although I am also confident it will appear at some entirely unpredictable point.

I'm easily old enough to remember the very early days of personal computers. I remember a story from The Wall Street Journal in which a reporter interviewed a small-business owner (I think an auto-repair shop) who had bought an Apple II. The reporter asked the man what he thought of his purchase. The man stared glumly at the Apple for a moment and then sourly commented: "The damn thing just sits there."

Exactly. The world was just never going to buy into a command-prompt environment in a really big way. But the Mac came along and then the world began to change. (Be like the Mac! Bill Gates commanded his troops developing Windows 95.) And so it will be with Bitcoin. The world will never buy into it until an environment comes along that makes it easier, safer, and a lot more fun to use. Until then, the price will suffer periodic whale-dumps and then sort of bounce, spurt, and finally just roll along long enough for people to start talking (again) about "Bitcoin's recent price stability." And then yet another whale-dump will splash the water and the retroactively obvious cycle will begin again.

If you decide to go, then you will miss out on the killer app that will send Bitcoin to the moon and beyond. If you decide to stay, then you will watch the value of your stash just ebb away before your eyes. That choice defines your control.

As for me, for now I'm going to stay. But I've got Coinbase and can go in a second. That could happen at any time too.

[Comment added June 23, 2015:

My conclusion: stay. The blockchain itself will be the killer app upon which all other apps and bitcoins' fiat value will depend.]

i am stay as long i need bitcoin,i need money and instantly trade bitcoin to fiat or money, and if i must go,it because so many reason, one of that is when i dont have time with bitcoin anymore.

771  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in 2020 on: February 10, 2016, 07:33:34 AM
I began my career in the bictoin . In 2010 the bitcoin was worth 0.01 euro , now a bitcoin worth 400 euros. I ask myself a question: what will be its value in 2020 ?.

Sorry for the spelling for I am french . Wink

772  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'll try to pay my dentist with BTC on: February 10, 2016, 07:29:29 AM
At the end of the month, I'll fly to Budapest for some heavy dental work, and I'm planning to pay with BTC. Has anyone ever paid his/her dentist with BTC? The dentist I'll see mostly has foreign patients traveling to Hungary because it's much cheaper, so BTC would be convenient for many of them. Any argument I could use to convince my dentist?
wow,i never heard this before,ts easy to tell your dentist to accept bitcoin for payment?i want to try ask some seller or store to accept bitcoin, but i still have no idea o explain with easy understanding.by the way,its cool Wink

774  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How I was scammed ...... on: February 09, 2016, 06:15:20 PM
Hi........I just wanted to give a brief summary of how I was recently scammed......mainly for informational purposes and so others can be on the look-out for this method. I also would like to hear if this is a fairly common way to scam people...or something rather new.     I know I will get a lot of ridicule for falling for such a blatant scam............but I thought this could be a learning experience, so hopefully I  won't get too many negative comments.   Tongue

The scammer saw my post and asked me if I had ICQ      (trading BTC for prepaid debit card codes)

I set up my ICQ, and we negotiated rates, etc. He was very professional, patient, and he said said "I'll go first."  (He would start the transaction)

He asked me to create a Bitcoin wallet on blockchain.info so he could see that I had the coins ready for trade. So I moved my coins to the blockchain wallet.

He then said that since he will be taking the risk by sending the codes first, he would like to view my screen to make sure the code is used properly. (There may have been another reason for this too.)  In order to do this....he wanted me to download a program called "Team Viewer" that allowed him "see" my screen in real-time.

I downloaded the program "Team Viewer" and started it up ...... he told me he could see my screen, etc......then somehow he asked to see my bitcoin wallet to verify the coins on blockchain.   Once I logged into my bitcoin wallet on blockchain........BLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAM....... I saw my bitcoin balance being withdrawn in a flash.     END OF STORY

So obviously, besides my stupidity, it was the "Team Viewer" program that allowed him to pull off this scam.  I'm still not sure how that program works.....for instance, how could it allow him to also be logged into my bitcoin wallet on blockchain???  How could two computers be accessing the same wallet like that?

Thanks for any input and hopefully this will help somebody in the future from being scammed in this way.   I appreciate any constructive feedback...........

i feel sad t hear your story, and tobe more aware to keep my bitcoin, and of course more warn to spam activity from unknown people, thanks for sharing,i hope you get better amount of bitcoin.

776  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best Price on Buying Bitcoin? on: February 09, 2016, 06:06:36 PM
Actually I'm thinking of buying bitcoin since today bitcoin's price is just at 380+$$ should I wait for it to down?? What's the Best price to buy bitcoin??
(o.0)<(??)
today is good enough to buy bitcoin,i believe next month will up again, the best strategy is buy 2 BTC for now, sell 1 BTC one month later, and keep 1 BTC for next month,i think you will make profit.
777  Economy / Economics / Re: I'm not gonna sell any coin. on: February 09, 2016, 05:48:30 PM
As you see, the Bitcoin is crashing and trying to break a new low until it stop.
But I won't sell any Bitcoin at this time, I believe it will rise again as it always do. Smiley
so you just hold and buy bitcoin for investement?how about the main purpose of bitcoin, being alternative payment, have you try to buy something with bitcoin?
778  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people keep saying BTC is dead?! on: February 09, 2016, 05:39:40 PM
Every time, for as long as I remember, that I go on bitcointalk, everyone keeps posting "BTC IS DEAD" "SELL" etc... And then a few Sr/Hero members come and explain how thats wrong.

I just don't get it.

Aren't we used to the price fluctuating by now? Whats with all the crying/moaning about price bubbles, crashing, inflations, Russia, China blablablablablablaaaaa!

Jeez... Do some research before posting, I saw one post which got LOADS of attention, yet the first post was done by paint, with an unlabelled graph which showed wrong data!

This is getting to the point where we are affecting newer members or gullible people into selling/dumping all their coins instead of keeping them. I mean when I come on the forum, I see that its crashing, why would I buy in?

I think we need to stop giving the panicking people attention and focus more on positive sides.
now people not said it anymore, even the price is not going up like the first time they said that bitcoin is dead,so i wondering what will they said now?
779  Economy / Speculation / Re: PANIC BUYING !!!!!!! on: February 09, 2016, 05:36:07 PM
Give me cheap Bitcoin.......  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

never mind panic selling at what price will we be panic buying....lol  below $200 would be nice to see again.
panic buying, panic selling, will be funny moment when i see some traders do that,i just laugh and wait formy time to earn bitcoin, because i dont care with the price,i just earn bitcoin as much as  i can.
780  Economy / Economics / Re: Big Crash coming on: February 09, 2016, 05:30:07 PM
Just to let you guys know a big crash is coming in 2016 in the economy. There is going to be a huge financial crisis but it will be worse than 2009.

The bitcoin price will skyrocket to over $10,000. However  bitcoin will be banned in all western countries. If you are reading this living in the west you should make preparations to move to Russia or China they are the only places you will be safe owning bitcoins.

The crisis will be so big it will destroy entire countries and in 2017 there will be a civil war in the USA, UK and western europe. After this the world will never be the same again it will change so much by 2020 it will be unrecognizable compared to today.
such like big news and i can't believe this, yes because you dont put any source of your post, please gve us some links or another proof of your post Smiley
