leave diff 512, but pay stale shares(previous block job), after all pool server uses shares bellow difficulty to measure miners' hashrate and nothing else.
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MultiCoin][Stratum+GW] multipool.in - Always mine the most profitable coin on: July 17, 2013, 01:32:31 PM
BTW the hashrate really isn't that small, we are #5 or #6 largest litecoin pool when the multiport is on litecoin.

I don't know what I can do to convince people to move here from the 2-3 large pools.  I'm open to suggestions.

just tell them that most of the pool is poolhoppers, like 85% and they earn more from PPLNS if they mine 24/7 litecoin only
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MultiCoin][Stratum+GW] multipool.in - Always mine the most profitable coin on: July 10, 2013, 09:09:09 AM
are payouts for the coin-switching port in each coin it switches to? Unless it is selling the coins right after making them I don't see the point. Example- if FTC is really profitable so it is mined for a day then its value crashes and it switches to LTC. Now I have a bunch of worthless coin and have to wait for it to go back up to how much it was worth when it was being mined to sell. Unless the payout for mining on the coin-switching port is in one currency I don't see how this would work.

There is always a risk that a coin can crash, but generally, coin values are fairly stable day to day.  Most of them are certainly stable enough that you can withdraw and cash in your coins or trade them for your currency of choice before the price changes too much.

it would be perfect if you add price column, and put average if coin is hopped more than once that day, so that you know if you sell bellow that av.price it will be at a loss, stat should be zeroed when coin balance is zeroed

https://github.com/CryptoManiac/stratum-mining-proxy

why litecoin proxy won't split large difficulty shares into smaller one, like it does for bitcoin?
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MultiCoin][Stratum+GW] multipool.in - Always mine the most profitable coin on: July 07, 2013, 09:23:54 AM
Well, the problem is that our pool is different from the others in that there is some inherent 'hopping' involved in just using the pool (for those on the multiport, anyway).

We need to strike a balance between paying the multiport users fairly and also paying the dedicated coin miners fairly.

you can't please poolhoppers w/o hurting dedicated miners, unless you force all to hop by removing dedicated pools

btw ltc stats show that pool is prop atm

Plan of removing the getwork support

Once the hashrate of stratum backend reaches 90% of total pool hashrate, the fee for getwork miners will rise to 10%.

nice plan, pickpocketing clueless miners.
