"electrum -p socks5:localhost:9050" doesn't work for me.
gives : electrum: error: no such option: -p  Undecided

Are you using latest electrum?

electrum/precise uptodate 1.0

127  Economy / Securities / Re: GLBSE is offline We will update our users on Saturday. on: October 06, 2012, 04:54:51 PM
the Bitcoins that you had in your account will be returned. Bitcoins that were used to buy assets cannot be returned by GLBSE because they were traded for the asset,  the issuer of that asset has those bitcoins.

That's if Nefario and/or Theymos give us back the bitcoins. If i judge how the whole story evolved until now, (there wasn't even a warning ) there is little chance to get our bitcoins back.  Angry

So, OP was wise...  Sad   Damn you Nefario
129  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: October 06, 2012, 10:51:27 AM
Using your bitcoin client, you could sign a message saying that you transfer the rights to the shares over to me provided that you get payed a certain amount. If friedcat is willing to accept it, I send you money and that's that.
The problem is of course that you need a way to prove that you actually have a GLBSE account. Can you do that?

well, the only way to do that, is my login credentials to glbse, which are useless atm.  Undecided
130  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BTC-Mining on: October 06, 2012, 10:04:16 AM
So what will happen with our shares, now glbse.com is off?
131  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: October 06, 2012, 10:00:55 AM
If anyone wants to cash out I'm willing to buy your claim if it's not too large. Provided that friedcat accepts the transfer of ownership.

Send me a pm if you're interested.

I hold 3 shares.  How can i sell it to you tucenaber, since glbse.com is off?
132  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Thoughts on Pyramining? on: October 05, 2012, 11:59:53 PM

135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin uptick in Iran/Middle east? on: September 25, 2012, 07:06:47 PM
How's the climate for running encrypted traffic on Iranian network ?

If someone uses a webwallet to access bitcoin, over https, or running ssh into a linux host somewhere, how could this get them into troubble ?

Can you inform the rest of us what the dispute is about?
137  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to buy bitcoins anonymously on: September 25, 2012, 11:18:10 AM
going to a bank is not anonymous..  Undecided

Why not? Anyone can make a cash deposit. The teller is not likely to ask you for ID.

Nanaimo Gold offers several anonymous vectors for payment and some others that can be proxied by creative folk.

Also fully automatic trading of several hard currencies.

Nobody is ever asked for ID and you don't even have to make an account.

You don't even have to share your email address for most trades, and for those that do need it, you can use mailinator, jetable, tormail or other email anonymisers.

For anyone capable of lifting his ass from the chair, anywhere in the world, it's possible to buy bitcoin anonymously from Nanaimo Gold.

in your site, it seems impossible to buy bitcoins with cash by mail option. Right? Why's that?
138  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BTC-Mining on: September 25, 2012, 11:16:08 AM
Its some time now that even though TotalVol฿ is increasing, shares number is stuck at 2369. Am i right? Can someone explain this?
139  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: FREE raffle for 20 BTC, just answer a quick survey. on: September 24, 2012, 06:27:46 PM
perhaps you could also post the transaction of the prize.
140  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Searching alternative client... on: September 23, 2012, 10:51:44 AM
electrum seems cool but misses a feature i want : socks proxy support.

You're in luck, this feature has just been added (check the main Electrum thread)! It is still under testing though, but if you're comfortable enough with github and feel adventurous, you could try it out.

oh that's great. Thanks flatfly, i'll give it a try.  Keep up the good work.
