Well, at least Phraust had a good transaction experience with Trendon on 2012-08-21 02:37:38 while the rest of us were getting NOTHING. He even gave a '10' rating.
Good for him...

Exactly... costly in terms of reputation for all involved. Would you trust anyone who gave pirateat40 a rating > 1?

Guilt by association.
142  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Services with APIs allowing delivery to email addresses? on: August 29, 2012, 04:33:02 PM
So it turned out that Bitinstant don't do email -> Bitcoin themselves - they just have an API call for accessing the Coinapult service that I tried to use before, and the Coinapult guys seem to have dozed off.

Does nobody else do it, and is nobody else planning to? If you're running a wallet service and want new customers it seems like an easy win...

Have you looked at coinbase? They have a new API that might do some of what you want.

I'll put my money on, it was a planned scare the entire time...

That would be one epic troll, and costly in terms of reputation for all involved.

144  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about 10,000BTC Bet (Official) on: August 29, 2012, 03:59:31 PM
So Matthew's subsequent doubling down now guarantees that things will end very badly for him.

Either:

1. he loses the bet, and will be forever remembered as the obstinate idiot who doubled down and lost 30KBTC in the face of an explicit confession.  No one will ever again respect him, or trust his judgement on any business matters.
2. Pirate pays, he miraculously wins the bet, in which case he will forever be suspected as a crook who had inside information.
3. he welches on the bet through a technicality or pretending it was a joke, in which case he will be forever known as someone whose word cannot be trusted or taken seriously.

4. Matthew loses the bet, pays 100%, and will be remembered as a guy we can trust to bet against without any escrow.

5. Matthew wins the bet, gives the money back because he's awesome like that.  Cool

6. Matthew loses the bet because Pirate doesn't pay back everyone by Sept. 9th, but then we find out that Matthew was Pirate all along and he pays out to everyone who won his bet (including many investors/lenders who had 'hedged' their Pirate exposure using this bet). All remaining investors who didn't hedge get paid back too anyway. Win! Jokes on us! Thanks Matthew/PirateAt40 - very funny!

Dear Matthew, you lost, give us are monay!

Matthew said 3 weeks...

Yep... 3 weeks, September 9th. That's when the "It's Official, Matthew Has Defaulted!" thread gets posted and Matthew gets the scammer tag he's been begging for.

Now I know why I can't post on the other threads. =P

Thanks for the thread though.

Yeah, I had to ask reddit to figure it out.  Unfortunately I was in a hurry to get a hold of someone on here and didn't read the thing about the 5 posts.

Hmm... I've made over 5 posts and logged over 22 hours but still unable to post anywhere else. Why?

Oh wait... nvm, I just had to wait 10 minutes! :-)

Not that I don't trust you or anything but can anyone else confirm the legitimacy of bitfloor? I have a chase bank literally 0.94 miles from my house.

Heya, I've purchased plenty of BTC through Bitfloor. They are totally legit! But if you don't trust them just start with a small deposit (like $20) and test it out so you can see for yourself.
148  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have created a New Bitcoin Faucet on: August 29, 2012, 03:28:39 PM
Hi!

After setting up bitcoind and looking over the API, I created a new Bitcoin Faucet I would like to share with everyone. It is currently paying out at 0.0001/day, but I hope to increase that. The site differs from others in that donations are put directly into the pool allowing for larger payouts. It also is not covered with ads.

You can find it here: http://freebtc.com

Let me know what you think!

Thanks! Will give it a try...
149  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HOWTO: create a 100% secure wallet on: August 29, 2012, 03:24:24 PM
Is there any way to get a wallet onto an iPhone or iPad?

You can use Blockchain's wallet on your iPhone via this app:

Here here! I'm a newbie as well (to this forum at least)!
