13 weeks left for ICO participation  Shocked

Why do they last so long?  Wouldn't a shorter timetable result in more interest?

We'd keep it even longer but by the beginning of December we have to consolidate. And we need coins to be for at least one months in open trading before the launch of the first module for users. Making offerings short is just a marketing trick, it doesn't benefit projects, doesn't benefit contributors either.

So you want to completely revolutionize how online ads work through businesses using the Mass Network instead of normal advertising?

Our primary goal is to completely change the price of user data for advertisers and webmasters. We are going to make advertisers to pay us for information about us and for our attention.

Are you a male or female? How old are you? Are you interested in traveling? Do you have a child? — Google and Facebook knows everything, smaller ad networks know most important information and they do exchange this information to show ads to you. Why do we donate our private information?

Of course, some of us use ad blockers, but this does not solve problem...

I have left the project in December. No information about escrow and investor's funds.

Please, contact Alexander Kuzmin (CEO and escrow) and Alexei Oschepkov (Alexai Kontegna https://www.facebook.com/kontegna, project founder).

How  are you issuing Mass coins?

Have you read our whitepaper and website? Smiley

Does that mean that the more I browse the more I make? This can be a bots' space....

Sure, there will be a lot of bots. Internet has a lot of them, they do search and click Google, they have Facebook accounts and some bots behave like real people. Bots "use" different browsers/devices, and some of them have Bitcointalk accounts. Smiley

How do sites solve this problem? The easiest way is to show captchas, but large sites like Google have enough stats from you GMail and search to determine whether you are a real human.

Mass will offer completely new way: signed user accounts.

In the near future anyone can create authority, online or offline, which will sign user personal ID with their key. For example, BMW will sign your account as "X5 owner" and advertisers will be 100% sure they pay for BMW owner attention.

The same with any other organization, business or even club. Anyone can issue their authority, and webmaster can announce which users he is interested in.

No private information! Just an ID and a signature to prove membership. No "search queries", "visited sites" or shopping histories, no social profile spying, no name/email/phone data.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Mass Network on: August 23, 2016, 11:46:03 AM
I will explain more about ads.

Brave idea is to sell ad impressions without giving any info about user. That works sometimes, but in general such ads sucks. People are different and they have different needs. Even more, people use proxies/VPNs, so you could not target even by geo region correctly!

May be you know, I'm a CTO of small Bitcoin-related ads network CoinURL, which has high quality crypto traffic, and does NOT use cookies or track visitors. But CoinURL is very small, there are too few sites where BTC ads could bring good revenue. CoinURL ads are good, but it's very small network with thousands of clicks. We need million of clicks and billions of impressions. BTW, CoinURL could not grow and sell non-Bitcoin ads, because knows nothing about visitors and such ads will not match user interests.

So, for ad networks there is a choice: to be a small network or to track/spy and buy stolen data! That's awful, we need something else!

Mass project is the solution. Users will sell webmasters their data and get paid for watching ads. Such ads will cost much more than usual ads and will be useful for visitors. You will choose which ads are interesting for you.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Mass Network on: August 23, 2016, 11:24:17 AM
So, in the end, Mass sells the user data whereas Brave does not?

No! Mass does NOT sell anything!

It only gives protocol extensions for user to sell his/her information to webmaster. BTW, Brave browser can also support these protocol extensions, because they are easy-to-implement and won't harm user privacy. Smiley
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Mass Network on: August 23, 2016, 11:05:05 AM
How are you sure they will use the data for what it was intended for and not use for other services

May be I misunderstood your question... is your question about user? How can a user be 100% sure your personal data are safe? That's good question!

First of all, we will block all data-sync cookies, as adblockers do and browsers like Brave. So, there will be no way to track user.

Then, we will store user private information locally, we won't send or store anything not encrypted on servers. Your private key will be used for backups like all wallets do and such cloud storage services like Mega.

Webmaster will do requests for your private information (or part of it), but you will get payment first. Of course, webmaster can save it, but there is not way to share this information with anyone, because you need cookies to be synced. The same scheme will be used for showing ads.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Mass Network on: August 23, 2016, 10:14:45 AM
There already is such a browser, https://brave.com/
Are you planning on forking their browser or creating something entirely different?

I'm user of it! Wink

It's awesome product, and they are doing right things.

But Brave does not allow me to tell webmaster about myself, my needs and interests. I won't get ads, but sometimes I need them. And I want to help webmasters to earn some money by selling allowed info about me.

In my opinion, Brave is a good ad-blocker and privacy guard, but not a MASS solution for new era of online ads.
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Mass Network on: August 23, 2016, 09:28:25 AM
There is no consensus algorithm mention so what do you plan to use?

We are not going to create new blockchain, our project is NOT a new blockchain! Smiley

We are going to create new software for users to browse the web. Of course, we will start with Chrome/Firefox browser extensions for blocking ads, which will have wallet enabled. And you will be paid for browsing websites with whitelisted ads.

Next step — standalone browser for desktops and mobiles.

Bitcoin Core on: August 19, 2016, 11:49:10 PM

178  Local / Новости / Re: Steemit против Reddit – свобода против цензуры on: July 31, 2016, 08:15:33 AM
