102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin ever did go completely mainstream... on: October 05, 2012, 04:20:17 PM
I'm sure being incredibly wealthy will be nice, but am I the only one who's more excited about the "I-Told-You-So's"? Because those are gonna be epic. Wink

I dont half look forward to that "I told you so" day - the amount of stick I get for being into "magic internet money" is stupid lol - be nice to say "I told you it was awesome".
103  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin silver 1oz custom coin... gauging demand on: October 02, 2012, 12:05:05 AM

104  Economy / Speculation / Re: With pirate gone... BTC gonna crash? on: October 01, 2012, 11:36:58 PM

105  Economy / Speculation / Re: Lets pretend for a minute that major BTC companies are scams. on: October 01, 2012, 11:35:32 PM
Well yes, its possible I think - I've pondered on the same thing myself, it could actually ALL be a giant scam, what more could a greedy person want than a get rich quick investment.

However I do think, that at its current growth, if it did start out a scam, then perhaps if the market growths enough it can outgrow any possible scam - so it will all be ok Smiley.... or the whole thing could just vanish and "poof your moneys gone".
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Suddenly, bitcoin activity near me on: October 01, 2012, 11:28:38 PM
I'm starting to see interest on localbitcoins in my area - but as someone pointed out, I figure its people wanting to use silk road lol.

But still, I think I'm going to trade, spreads the word, spreads the bitcoins.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Possibility of an economic attack on bitcoin? on: September 27, 2012, 10:45:02 PM
I've wondered about this a little, it could turn out in a few years to be one of the few ways bitcoin can be attacked, although at that point I'd hope the economy would of grown enough to sustain it.

As mentioned tho, people still use bitcoin regardless. If there gonna attack it, they better hurry up and give it there best shot.
108  Economy / Goods / Re: I will show you how to trade bitcoins with PayPal *WITHOUT* risk of disputes! on: September 20, 2012, 11:47:51 PM
Got my own ideas so thanks but no thanks  Grin
109  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Intersango Exchange on: September 18, 2012, 03:54:33 PM
Dam it - just stupidly deposited some btc into my intersango account to sell for £, then I realised I couldnt get it back out so had to sell back to btc and move it out.... luckly was only a small amount otherwise I'd be truely pissed at the loss I just made.

110  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Hiring C++ and JS programmers on: September 17, 2012, 11:27:40 PM

111  Economy / Securities / Re: RSM - 120(GH/s)/2600shares 46(MH/s)[0.30BTC] a share 1(GH/s) for 6.50BTC - ASIC on: September 17, 2012, 09:55:53 PM
another thing is that inaba can access the asic much quicker than it would be to post to mathew in the UK. inaba could have the asic set up and running beffore they asics had gotten to a shipping container. potentially saving 2-4 weeks of waiting.

Indeed, I hadnt thought of that Smiley - win win I say.
112  Economy / Securities / Re: RSM - 120(GH/s)/2600shares 46(MH/s)[0.30BTC] a share 1(GH/s) for 6.50BTC - ASIC on: September 17, 2012, 09:38:28 PM
I think it makes sense that Inaba helps us to host them - I havent had any dealings with him, but from what I have read I think he seems like a cool guy.

Some very quick maths and it seems to me like RSM would basically be saving the elec costs over the course of the products 12-18m lifespan.

As for the share question, as much as I agree we cant let the company stagnate whilst we wait for the ASIC's, there are other areas we could work on - other avenues we can look at (investments, other revenue streams etc), dumping all we have into hardware we (no body) have not seen yet sounds like a big risk, and why stop at ASIC's 4, 5,6... I'm not sure diluting the shares this early on when revenue streams havent been proven yet is the way to go.

(hope I'm not treading on the toes with the above btw - this is all still a bit new to me I must admit, so I am still feeling myself around a little).

113  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Currrent Cheapest Way To Convert $500 From Bank Account To Bitcoins? on: September 17, 2012, 06:38:18 PM
Ah Thailand - loved the place. To much sun and smoking for me, got well sick whilst there.

Cant think of a solution to your problem - doesnt seem like you have to many options really Sad.

Its not so bad in the UK, usually takes a day or so to get into mtgox account.

114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC and NWO on: September 17, 2012, 06:26:32 PM
No, BTC makes no sense for an NWO plan with all that decentralization and mining overhead.

They're rather gonna establish a world central bank. Digital transactions will be via the MintChip (tracking you).

If they play out a crash, the solution they'll offer will be something like Facebook credits.

Facebook credits lol. I think Bitcoin is supposed to be anarchist type currency. Grin

It's the legal tender of the Agorist nation. Wink

(which is, of course, total bull, but it does make a great digital currency for agorists)

Is it just me or Internet is already a nation in itself? Grin

No, but it should be, I had an idea to kinda make it one but got shot down in flames Sad lol.

On another note:-

"Give me control of a nations money supply, and I care not who makes it’s laws" - Amschel Rothchild, I dare say he's in the NWO club, so as pointed out, bitcoin removes some of that control away from the people who control us (to a degree) today.

Now just imagine if they lost all of that control and we took it all back and let computers look after it for us instead Smiley
115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitInstant's Trip to Brazil - Global Payments Forum on: September 17, 2012, 05:12:59 PM
So... the fact that Gavin was invited to give a talk to the CIA over a year ago didn't mean Bitcoin was already on their radar?

CIA != Fed

I know a lot of people see "the government" and instantly assume that a presentation at government office A will instantly result in the entire federal workforce becoming aware of said presentation's contents, but that's not how real life works Smiley

In 2010, the federal government workforce numbered at 4.4 million people.  And most of those are hunkered down in their little slice of government, not talking to other branches.

No kidding?

The point of my post was that "the government" already knows about Bitcoin. From the CIA, to the FBI, to Chuck Shumer, to presidential candidate Mitt Romney, et cetera I'm sure. Suggesting that E. Voorhees poked the beehive giving a few bitcents to some Fed employees is silly.

For the record, I was sincerely applauding the poking of said beehive. It needs poking, badly. It should be poked and often, and by someone who knows how.

me, me, please can I do some poking Smiley - your quite right, I think they need poking - the world needs to wake up, and if that means poking a beehive, then poke away I say.

Good write up by the way evoorhess - jammy sod tho, your life seems so cool!
116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need go to the next step on Bitcoin. Real world! on: September 16, 2012, 06:47:43 PM
You make a lot of points that I agree with Sage!

Bitcoin is not ready for the masses as yet, its to hard for none techies to understand and use - as sage says, until its a one click deal people wont take to it as quick as techies do.

Bricks and mortar exchanges is what we need to reduce the fear none techies have until bitcoin can support 1 click type ease, come in, pay your fiat, get bitcoins on your smartphone right there, done.... im my humble opinion Smiley

117  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: FREE raffle for 20 BTC, just answer a quick survey. on: September 16, 2012, 05:49:43 PM
Done.

To expand on one of my comments, if I may.

I'm considerably older than most bitcoin users (in my 50's). When the web was first taking off, older folks were the last to catch on. I don't think it will be that way with bitcoin. My age peers are notorious technophobes but they also have a lot of money that they're about to see drop in value.

Once bitcoin hits, they won't want an exchange. They'll want a bitcoin "store", a place they can buy bitcoins easily. The company that positions themselves to market to the older folks and the technically non-proficient will have an edge on mtgox and other exchanges.

You know I've thought the same thing to a degree, I'm in my early 30's and I believe that one of the stumbling blocks to get over is getting people to feel safe about bitcoins - one of the best ways of doing this is face to face, in a bricks and mortar building.
118  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: FREE raffle for 20 BTC, just answer a quick survey. on: September 16, 2012, 05:47:51 PM
Done. I found it nice and to the point as well. I've had a tonne of ideas around exchanges so be nice to see what you come up.
119  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Automated Trading Platform - Any Interest? on: September 16, 2012, 03:49:11 PM

120  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANNOUNCE] PrivCoin v1.0 - Pendrive Linux for Offline Transaction Processing on: September 16, 2012, 02:01:59 PM
Thats awesome - I'm going to wait for the green light to use it, as I'm not a linux boff so cant check its secure and stuff - however this is something i wouldnt mind keeping an eye and using in the future Smiley.

Thanks for your efforts on this.
