421  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: I am assuming that this would be the Place to find a pool developer or manager on: February 14, 2016, 06:42:34 PM
This means that if a block is found by the pool the reward will be greater than if you were to mine in a larger pool.

Do you just want bigger less frequent payouts? You can already do that with some pools.

Anyway the idea does not really make sense unless you are talking about Proportional Payout pools, which died back in 2011 due to pool hopping strategies adversely affecting this type of pool.
The second paragraph explains exactly what you are asking, at least the first half does. Its not for the purpose increasing you mining rewards on paper.
Why not just test your luck on a solo pool then?
422  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1500 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: February 11, 2016, 11:55:06 PM

I don't much care for altcoins either, & am in complete agreement with you about them. However, if I am able to merge mine them at no extra cost to myself, then cash them in at exchanges for BTC when I feel the price is right, then why wouldn't I? After all, that is what merge mining is for & what attracted me to p2pool in the first place, amongst other things. Alt(shit)coins are simply a means to provide a little extra income - the fact that I merge mine them with p2pool does not mean that I like/trust/care about them. Without merge mining them I probably wouldn't be able to afford to run my node, so they serve a purpose to me, nothing else. It's a pain having to keep checking the prices on all the different exchanges, but if I get it right, it's nice to get those little extra satoshi - it just helps.
What about the performance cost? The server is using resources for an alt coin, slowing down the server = less BTC. I think Kano can explain it much better.
423  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Where to go after Coinbase closes your account? on: February 11, 2016, 08:10:55 PM
What are the reasons given for the closure of the accounts? I dependent entirely on coinbase and I am now worried that they might close the account with coins in it.

They were not specific. I have one site that uses Coinbase. They flagged my account one time before for review and wanted to know what my site did. My site is an affiliate based site, not a HYIP, not a ponzi, not a matrix; a fully legal site. They fully approved my site. I ran it for 2 years until they closed my account.

They original reason was:
Quote
Thank you for your interest in Coinbase. Our primary goal is to make bitcoin safe and secure for our customers. Coinbase is a regulated Money Services Business under FinCEN (FinCEN.gov), and as part of achieving this goal, we are legally obligated to implement regulatory compliance mechanisms.

We regret to inform you that we are no longer able to support your Coinbase account as well as any other accounts you may have created. Please note, we have not blocked access to the bitcoin balance currently in your Coinbase account; while we can no longer process bitcoin brokerage orders via our banking relationship, you may still send your bitcoin balance offsite to an external bitcoin address.

Your site is a MLM, as most are considered scams or just end up being ponzi's that is likely the reason your account was closed.

There are MLM's in the US that are under scrutiny by the government over being ponzi's that actually sell products, not just click on ads  or links. As they wish to comply with government regulations it is much simpler to  ban you, there is no need to give a reason as they will not allow your business structure and seeing there is no way you can change it other than your wording of what the business is that is the reason you cannot be with them.

MLM: Multi-level-marketing (sometimes refereed to as a pyramid scheme)

424  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [18 PH] ** 5x AVALON6 GIVEAWAY ** Kano CKPool (kano.is) [0.9% PPLNS] US,DE,SG,JP on: February 01, 2016, 10:27:56 PM
Dunno then. I sent about 5-10 transactions every day on average and have not had anything hang up in many months.
I send using 5block confirmation as extra. It's so little, who cares..
Same here, I've sent $5-$20 transactions plenty of times and they have always been included in the next block. The important part is to make sure you include a proper fee if you want to be in the next block, not just the minimum the client thinks is required.

@Kano would you be able to add the feature to allow us or others to pay a fee to the pool to include a transaction into the next block?
Well, no fee, but maybe based on how much time you've been hashing and how much hashing you are doing Smiley
Maybe one a day if you mine enough ... but the 'enough' is the trick to decide.
I guess people with tiny amounts of BTC tend to not do that many transactions, and if they do have a lot of mining, then point it here to get a free txn each day ... or something like that ...
The main problem of course is that until we get to 10% of the network, paying for the pool to include a txn may not get you confirmed any faster, but if it's free as long as you mine enough, it's could be worthwhile I imagine.
Yeah that would be interesting, you create an account and there would be a new tab on the menu to include a transaction, or attempt to include a transaction in the next block. As long as you are pointing a few TH towards the pool, the pool will attempt to place it in the next block. How about, if you are active for the week you get 1 transaction included for free otherwise a donation equal to the fee you should have paid, possibly make it refundable if the pool didn't include it and another pool successfully placed it in a block or keep it as a donation as the pool was required to do the work to try.

I have noticed other pools doing this at one point, but they all seem to have stopped maybe they had a reason too and people should just include the proper fees in their transactions.

Instead of changing the rules completely, how about keep them the same but add one little part.

When you find the block you must maintain at the very least an average hashrate equal to what you had when you found the block or equal to the red line for a week. If you rent your hashrate then you would need to ensure you maintain that rental and keep a steady hashrate towards the pool.

LOOOOL....go ahead, rent all you want, fact is, it really doesn't matter what you calculate your odds to be. Lady Luck hands it out in very strange ways. Sooo, Good Luck to All and all the spent BTC on rentals will surely be accepted with good intent and well wishes.

"Comon, Daddy needs a kiss.... ". Just kidding folks. Can't believe we haven't hit yet.

     Cool

Well, at current rental rates one is likely to get the money back anyway. Possibly profit, so it kinda makes sense.

I guess this is what I don't understand. You need BTC to rent. If you are limited by the amount of BTC you have, then it limits the amount you can rent. It brings to mind the saying, "You gotta have money to make money." So, what if you are 'old', Daddy's money went to feed you, you spent your money on raising your children, and, low and behold, there is none left to play with. How do I rent more hash without the funds? And don't tell me American Express!!

Horrible, vicious, cycle, huh? The only ones that made out are the young ones (life noobs) that don't give a crap about expenses to begin with. Life sux!!

If you want to gamble you need to have money, that's exactly what they are doing gambling. You could also be an early adopter that has plenty of BTC to do whatever you would like with.
428  Economy / Services / Re: URGENT: Looking for TRUSTED Escrow on: January 31, 2016, 09:14:45 PM
what you are buying/selling ? and what is amount of the deal
if amount is big I will suggest to choose from Big 3 escrow
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0

else you can choose from list of other available escrow who is online at the moment

If you could speak proper English I might've chosen you.
He never asked to escrow for you, he gave you a link to the "trusted escrow list" and told you if your transaction was big use one of the most popular 3 / big 3 or you can pick from any of the smaller ones that are listed.

Neotox's English isn't great, a few missing words but still very easy to read and comprehend.

430  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer: luckypyrate on: January 25, 2016, 01:15:24 AM
Didnt he say he would send it Monday? Just wondering. He pm'd me because I am looking for s5 or s7 miner.
He PM'd me about a miner also and said that I was looking to buy one, when I left a neutral saying what he did he got defensive and left me a negative, saying I wanted to buy a miner and that is why he contacted me.

Edit* I was "newbie" rank when he did this, not sure if he just messaged anyone around that rank that made a post that had mentioned buying or selling asking if they wanted to buy it from him.
431  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Eva 18 here! Selling SeXXXy Pictures & Videos >>> BTC (CHEAP!) on: January 23, 2016, 08:50:12 PM
Quit hounding the woman and let her sell some stuff. People can sell stolen/cracked goods all day, yet this person can't sell her pics or vids? C'mon, you have plenty of other trolling you can be doing on this forum. Let her do some work! This is the exact reason women don't like to participate in Bitcoin. The trolls who could never get a beautiful woman IRL attack their every move. Get over it! She even gave some samples!

Run a reverse image search on them and they are found all over the place on multiple sites and accounts. If it was actually her they would be a bit more unique and there shouldn't be a problem with selling them.

The OP is most likely just a dude that found some pics online and wants to make some cash.
432  Economy / Goods / Re: FOR SALE - 50 COKE BOTTLE TOPS ( 2 LITTER BOTTLE CAPS ) - BTC OR LTC ONLY on: January 22, 2016, 08:20:36 PM
Well someone has played too much Fallout it seems. Trust me in a post apoc world you'd need a lot more than just a few thousand caps. I alone have around 50k + on my person when I am roaming the wastelands.
Hey I don't blame you stim packs are expensive and you never know when you will need to pick some up or run into a deathclaw same basic principle.
433  Other / Archival / Re: Some Avalon6 safety news. (How not to burn a board) on: January 21, 2016, 04:42:16 PM

and that is the lack of clarity   oh my input is 12.73 I am good ,  is not true  if you have 15 awg wires   as you do not drop to a gui of 12.2

which was my case 12.73 from the psu dropped to 12.5 on the gui = burned board

I will be the first to say if read really closely  I could have picked up the  inconsistent issue.

But I missed that   under 12.8 is only good if the gui drops to 12.2  which is what they meant to say.,

anyway still waiting on a rma answer from block_c
I am not saying what they will or will not do, hopefully they can work something out for a reduced cost or out of warranty replacement for the damaged board. I am just stating it was very clear on the wiki under the PSU requirements

Input voltage no lower than 11.7V and no higher than 12.2V (numbers
take from the controller) Lower voltage leads to lower hashrate and higher voltage leads to possible device burning down.

The part that I might have not mentioned was this
Follow up on under volt. The gear will run as low as 9.6 volts .

The problem is smart speed it comes enabled so  no matter what you set volts at smart speed  lowers the hash rate to make no hardware errors.

Some one with good ssh skills will need to get in and figure out how to turn off smart speed.

the gear does over clock if you set your psu to 13 volts it does over 4000gh

Thanks for sharing!  What does watts used look like when hitting 4000 GH, that is a decent OC from 3.5.

That is a 14 percent overclock.  So better then a lot of machines as far as OC with your nice PSU.

13 volts let me do 4000gh  all via smartspeed  which means  it overrides the 500 freq max.
I read somewhere you said you did over volt the unit past 12.8, which is why I thought you were way too high.
434  Other / Archival / Re: Some Avalon6 safety news. (How not to burn a board) on: January 21, 2016, 04:12:02 PM
I am curious about BlockC's warranty process for high voltage burns, please share your experience.

well I will  I just pm'd

I also wrote this up for two reasons.

1) I am hoping for a break in the replacement price

2) I WANT IT TO BE CLEAR WHAT A SAFE VOLTAGE IS!!!!

The wiki had under 12.80 volts in one spot

The wiki had 12.2 volts or under in another spot.

Not clear enough.

SO CLEAR IS :      THE GUI NUMBER NEEDS TO BE 12.2 VOLTS OR LESS

If you look at all the write ups I did on the finksy/j4bberwock dual 2000/4000

I wrote time and time again how the avalon6 would do 3900gh on high volts  which was 12.73 volts to 12.75 volts  from the psu  and 12.5 12.4 on the gui.

So people need to know the high setting on the finksy/j4bberwock  is too high  and any input setting of 12.7 volts   can result in a gui reading of 12.3 or 12.4 or 12.5 volts  which in turn can burn a board out.

Taken directly from the wiki under PSU requirements
Quote
PSU requirements:
Minimum 1100W output, recommend to use high-quality PSU for server
with more than 1200W output and high quality power cable.
Input voltage no lower than 11.7V and no higher than 12.2V (numbers
take from the controller)
Lower voltage leads to lower hashrate and higher voltage leads to
possible device burning down.
NOTICE: Poor quality cable may result in low voltage.

This piece here from the MM update changelog means that they implemented a check to determine if the input voltage equals or exceeds 12.8V. I think there were a few people who posted screenshots of their ui's where the input voltage was 12.8 or 12.9 with no errors.

Update Input voltage check rules (Input voltage should not >= 12.8V)

I think these threads are started solely to help people boost their sig campaign posting totals.

Almost any opinion thread one is, and I would also say any that have the exact same response from multiple people as if they didn't read the other 5 posts before theirs.
