1  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC to 5000$ soon on: July 05, 2016, 03:29:58 PM
Yes possible to achieve the price of $1500 in this year but not possible to achieve the price of $5k very soon and it may take next 5 years to achieve that milestone.

Not even during 2007/2008-like financial crisis situation? Please educate yourself or you are about to lose a lot of wealth in the upcoming months. brexit was just the beginning. Silver has risen again and is now trading at its 2-year high!

If you invest in bitcoin, you will not lose. In a year, the bitcoin price will be more than the gold price each ounce.

If you buy bitcoin for the long term and do not buy during a bubble like in November 2013, you will make profit.
2  Economy / Economics / Re: I'm not gonna sell any coin. on: July 03, 2016, 07:26:39 AM
I am not gonna sell my coins too, cause at my opinion price is gonna increase after halving in 9 days, and than maybe i will sell my coins only if price will be enough to do this.

Exactly, holding now is an good idea, as we are now very near to halving so selling at this point may be unprofitable as we can earn higher profits if we sell at halving.

If you want to hold for the price rise after the halving, you might be disappointed. The price already reflects the halving.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC to 5000$ soon on: July 03, 2016, 07:24:50 AM

If guys like Tim Draper conservatively believe Bitcoin will hit $10,000 by 2018, anything is possible.

I believe the Brexit doesn't look good for the future of the Euro fiat currency. The US dollar is no longer backed by gold, and it seems the logic is that it is too big to fail. Unfortunately you can't earn any interest, and they just keep printing more every time there is a bigger debt problem. We could easily see another financial meltdown in the near future with no way out this time.

At some point it will be Bitcoin to the rescue.

Decentralized currency continues to look better and better

For business, it would be much easier to plan ahead if the monetary policy is known. Bitcoin is much more transparent.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should Ethereum and DAO be bought now? on: July 03, 2016, 07:22:21 AM

The soft fork was reversed. I would like to know if the soft fork is possible to lock the "stolen" ethereum.
5  Economy / Speculation / Re: Going to bed, will BTC be $500 or $300 when I wake up? on: July 03, 2016, 07:19:54 AM
I dont think the bitcoin will drop that low for sure. But it can happen because the value of the bitcoin cant be stable for a long time.
It depends about what people do with their coins what the price will do.

If there is a big bug exploited in the new Core software, and millions of bitcoins are stolen, the price will drop.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth bubble has popped - Will you be left a bagholder? on: July 03, 2016, 07:18:20 AM
I hope the bubble to pop as soon as possible so that I can buy more. But the price is still over $16 at present.

The bitcoin price is 16.2 now. After it rose to $18.9 early today. The price is too volatile. I think not many people will trade it.

The price is quite volatile. It seems many people are concerned about the future of the Ethereum at the moment.

The price is still quite volatile. But that is similar to the bitcoin price volatility. There is nothing special about Ethereum.

Before the DAO hack, the price of Ethereum was about 0.027, it is about 0.021 now. It would be better for the price to recover to 0.027.

The price is around 0.017 at the moment. So the people are waiting for the news about the soft fork before taking actions.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin ever goes mainstream on: July 03, 2016, 07:13:26 AM

Clearly, most regulators haven't realized how bitcoin can indeed became a threat to financial stability.

A bitcoin news site published this :
Powerful U.S. Regulator Sees Bitcoin as a Possible "Threat" to Financial Stability - CCN: Financial Bitcoin & Cryptocurrency News

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/us-regulator-bitcoin-financial-stability/

The study by the regulator can be read here:

https://www.treasury.gov/initiatives/fsoc/studies-reports/Documents/FSOC 2016 Annual Report.pdf

However, its comments on bitcoin are very limited (see p. 127) and clearly doesn't address the main issues. Probably, because, currently, they are no issues.

When the bitcoin becomes main stream payment method and a currency, it is easier for the business to plan ahead as the supply is already known.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum: Good alt or stay away? on: June 27, 2016, 10:21:07 AM
IMO it's rising now due to a soft fork solution has been supported by the community.
They now have an option to get the funds back without a hard fork
Indeed. It's reassuring to see how the ETH community is pulling together.

Can they get the 3.6 million stolen from the hacker back without using the hard fork? I thought soft fork just freeze the funds.
Yes they are working on it. Can't say much more right now but expect gud news.

They get the funds from the hacker, the hacker gets it back again, is there never ending loop? I thought there is 27 day freeze period.
28 days. And this allows for a resolution to be implemented at this time, and any other time such attack happens.

If all the DAO has been moved once now, can they can be moved again within 28 days? If not, we will have a quite period of 25 to 28 days.
Each movement takes 28 days. DAO funds are not released until after a 28 day period. So each movement gives us all an additional 28 day window.

Does it mean we have to do soft fork every 28 days? It is very inconvenient for the miners. Hope they will find a better solution.

The solution will be to dissolve the DAO and return the DAO to the investors. I hope there will be no problem in the process.

I hope so. I'm not too excited about the halving because that's something almost everyone already know and it's been also reflected on the price, but well, maybe it could pump it a little bit. I want to see what happen with brexit, new implementation of CSV, that maybe could help to raise the price, but as always... who knows?  Roll Eyes

halving indeed already often do and everyone knew that the effect of halving the effect is indeed very big enough in price bitcoin. But yes indeed how such applies only in some time alone and can't last much longer. But we don't have to worry about in the future certainly there are better ways in how to raise the price of BTC

we have to wait for a while to see the real effects of the halving on bitcoin. it takes a while for halving to happen then there will be a period like about 1 month to really see what effects can halving have on bitcoin when the supply growth was slowed down.

yes I think the effect of halving will not happen immediately, it may take several months. but was previously halving effect has been felt before halving happen, but the current price dropped considerably, and after that I felt it difficult to see what will happen next. whereas if no decline is high, I think we can reach $800-900 before halving

That seems to be difficult now and I will be much satisfied even if I see the price of $700 at halving, that is the price I have set in my mind to sell my coins, I missed the opportunity to sell last week.

after today's prices increased again and was at $650, I think it is easy back to $700 and also halving still about 2 weeks. so I thought there was a chance to reach $800.

$700 is not a problem. I think it is even possible for the price to go to $800 or higher. But it is not sustainable.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There is nothing funny in The DAO "attack" on: June 27, 2016, 10:11:39 AM
He might the owner of the DAO. I do not own any DAO, but I feel frustrated. I am a miner, I will make sure that attacker does not get anything.

I do not own any DAO's or Ethereum. I was frustrated, because they gathered so much money, yet allowed this to happen.
Wow, are you sure? Do you not own any DAO's or Ethereum? That's coin have a good future. The price always increases and back to normally before and after getting attacked.

I think the Ethereum Foundation has to do a lot of work to win back the trust of the investors. That bug has lost investors a lot of money.
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price going back to $250??? on: June 27, 2016, 10:09:09 AM
It will not happen again, bitcoin went only at 250  because of world econmic  crisis that happened before, buti think  it will not fall to that price again.

If there is world economy crisis, the bitcoin will be the safe haven for people's wealth. The price will be even higher.

The bitcoin price rose a lot in March 2013, that was mainly due to the European financial crisis.

If the Briton exits the European Uninion, it will also cause lots of uncertainty, there could be a financial crisis.

In the financial crisis, the fiat will drop a lot including the British Sterling. So there is a chance for bitcoin to rise.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Eth bubble is about to pop on: June 22, 2016, 09:39:40 AM
Maybe there is no need to hard fork now.

14  Economy / Economics / Re: I'm not gonna sell any coin. on: June 22, 2016, 09:35:24 AM
I notice that the price are a little bit fluactuating because most of the users are still holding bitcoin and there is no one wanting to buy that why the price is quite affected for that but for me this is not the right time to sell our bitcoin until the halving comes

I still hold most of my coins. I just spent some to buy the Ethereum as I think apart from bitcoin, it also has some hope.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exactly 1 day before the Bitcoin Halvening I am dumping all BTC into ETH on: June 22, 2016, 09:34:02 AM
A very wise move i think, is to dump all BTC into cash 3 days before halving, bcause clearly no one knows how it will be.

That is a good idea. You think you can be ahead of everybody else. But somebody already dumpled 20 days before.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: June 21, 2016, 10:00:56 AM
DAO is kind of like a faucet to spread to ETH far and wide ... for free!!

Great marketing stunt (not sure how it makes money in the end game though guise??)

That will  finish if the soft fork happens. I think the DAO holders are busy convincing the miners to do a soft fork.

The miners will do a hard fork. It is in their interest not for the thief to dump to the market. But they might not do a hard fork.

There is a voting going on about the soft fork. There is no conclusion yet. The majority of the miners support soft fork.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum: Good alt or stay away? on: June 21, 2016, 09:59:41 AM
for me i will still choose Bitcoins,...none of the two etherium and altcoin are not both
stable as Bitcoins. Undecided

Bitcoin is the base currency of the digital world. But the development is very centralised. The transaction confirmation is still slow recently.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC to 5000$ soon on: June 21, 2016, 09:55:54 AM
Yeah $1500 is quiet possible to achieve at this halving or by the end of the year, but $5k is simply impossible to achieve in this year.

Where the hell do you noobs get "impossible" from? Have you not been around during the early bubbles? Bitcoin has broke many "impossible" barriers... $5k/BTC certainly not impossible by any means.
We have to stay realistic and the value of Bitcoin started of course to rise but it will not rise to that fast because that will takes some jumps.
And it is really hard to know what will happen in the future because the value is always changing.

I am content if the bitcoin price rise 40% a year. If it can rise with the user and number of uses, I will also happy.
19  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2016, The Year of Bitcoin? on: June 21, 2016, 09:54:29 AM
2016 is the start of the new era. We will have bigger block size to accommodate more transaction and make bitcoin very useful.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ethereum a bubble? on: June 21, 2016, 09:35:49 AM
Compared to the technical fundamentals of the rest of the market it's certainly overvalued by a lot.

Real value is well below this price.

You have to be a noob to not see how overbought it is but maybe they'll go even more retard on it. But in the end it'll drop long and hard.

A week ago, the Ethereum price is $20, it is $11 now. Do you think the Ethereum price bubble has popped?
