441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: License: is it a guarantee? on: December 29, 2023, 11:20:51 PM
As others have said, it's not a guarantee, and I can say that it's not that expensive to get a Curacao License to start your online gambling site.

Never thought that licenses are so cheap. Really, with millions in turnover, taking 10-20k is just unnoticeable. 10-20k - and these are expenses if a person wants to start all from the scratch. I am sure that there are already pre-made or out-of-the-box solutions. Or previously created, ready to go businesses. Turns out that license does not give any guarantees at all. I can compare it with cooper membership here. Projects buy it to look more reliable, yet can easily turn scam.

Yes, that's true it's so cheap that this gambling sites can really afford it and for them this is just a chump's change. Although there's also the Malta Gaming license, which is more expensive, but still it's affordable for this kind of big business.

And as we all agree upon, they can take advantage of it and just play along in the beginning for being a trusted casino and rake millions in the next couple of months and then turn rogue later because they have gotten their ROI from the initial cost of putting their online gambling sites. Not saying that everyone of them is a scam, but maybe 1 out of 10 or 20 sites, becoming a scam and then rebranding later, rinse and repeat.

Since we are almost at the end of the year, who do you think should be the Boxer of the year?

Here are the list of candidates:

1. Terrence Crawford - beat Spence, another pound for pound boxer, and then captured and unified all the belts at 147 lbs?

2. Devin Haney - undisputed at 130 lbs beat Loma, move up in weight and then dominated Prograis to win the WBC belt?

3. Naoya Inoue - move up in weight, challenge the best champion at 122 lbs in Stephen Fulton, then unified the belt against Marlon Tapales, second man to do so, unifying belts in 4 belt era in 2 different weight classes, second only to Crawford.

If I have to vote, then I will go with Crawford as fighter of the year, the way he dominated a great fighter in Spence, with 0 losses in his record and everyone thinks that this is a close fight. But then Crawford took everything from Spence that night and then he captures his 2nd unification belt in 2 weight class and put his name on the record and cemented his legacy? For me he is the BOTY.

For Haney, his win against Loma is questionable and although he won another belt in 140 lbs, Prograis is not that high level boxer to be honest. His previous win against Danielito Zorrilla shows sign that Prograis is slowin down already and the Haney's know this.

For Inoue, he beat Fulton, but it is expected, same with his conquest of Tapales, odds is like 1.07 so again he what we call outstanding favorite to win that fight.

So Crawford, Inoue and Haney in that order for me.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Pacquiao vs. Buakaw - April 20 on: December 29, 2023, 10:31:56 PM
Oh ok good, and if my memory serves me right, this is Manny's second in this exhibition matches, the first one is against a South Korean Youtuber. Buakaw is legendary as well and again, I think he has a recent fight with another great Kickboxer and he lost that fight.

But this time, this is just a exhibition match for him and against another legend in another sports discipline. And if this is going to be a boxing match then Manny should win, although Buakaw's experience as a striker could help him in his fight. But we all know how Manny's power is and he could still punch even if he is semi-retired and still has that power in his left.

https://gbo-licensing.com/curacao-gaming-license-fees/

I mean this business involves millions of dollars I reckon to start, and so paying like $10,000 or more as gambling license is that small. And it's easily be accomplished and even it's annual and recurrent charges are not that big.

So maybe those who obtain licenses and then becoming a scam? they could have made that money already.
445  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your feelings if Bitcoin price takes your expectations unaware on: December 27, 2023, 06:39:45 PM
As a short-term goal Bitcoin Investor whose eyes has been on the Bitcoin market and has accumulated as much Bitcoin while expecting the bull-run markets to come and skyrockets so you can sell you Coins at a profitable higher price, and then you wake up lately maybe at night or sometimes in the morning and learns that Bitcoins value rate (Price) hitted the market even times 3 of what you expected for example, you awaits the market to hit $65K and then it hits $165K just at your slightest mistake of given the markets charts monitoring maybe few minutes or an hour break and then it depreciated unimpressively against your will probably even below your hodling value at your notice, how would you feel at it?

Definitely, you are going to hurt as the price goes off x3 and that's why it's really hard to time the market, on when to sell. That's why when you sell, you don't look back, and just be content of what and how much profit you got already and then the process goes on again, you accumulate and then sell short term. But it will be very different if you have that long term goal just saying.

However, if we look at your scenario though, it's not realistic as this point. Maybe early on when the price is still like in the single digit or even like in the $10.00, it's possible to get that x3 in days in trading. But not at this current price, it's too high to see it multiple at that speed.
446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun, is it a lie that we tell ourselves? on: December 27, 2023, 01:41:27 PM
I think if you have the money to play and say to yourself that you are going to play and have some fun then that's it. The problem is that there are gamblers who doesn't want to admit that they are losing money already and think that they still being entertained.

So it's either you play with small amount to have some fun and then quit. Or believed that even if you continue to play and losing a lot of money and that you are not addicted then that's where the issues is and you can call it a lie. Most of the time our minds are going to play tricks on us specially this form of entertainment called gambling.
447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 27, 2023, 08:07:44 AM
Naoya Inoue just made history by becoming only the second fighter to become a 2-division undisputed champion. It was a brilliant display of ring IQ, hand speed, footwork, and stamina as he disposed of Tapales in the 10th round. Tapales made the fight interesting as he came to win, unlike the previous Inoue opponents who went into survival mode once they tasted the power punches of the talented Japanese.

For sure as he said before the fight, he came to Japan to win. And although he was hurt in round 4 and thought that the fight will not last, he had the Filipino mentality to go all in and finish the fight with his shield. He had same moments when he hit Inoue, but then again, Inoue's chin hasn't been crack.
He lasted 10 rounds, I can say Tapales does have a tough chin and the heart for the game. He is also crafty using his technical skills in the boxing ring and I think that's the best plan against the Monster. Battling him through a brawl would be a good strategy and I can see that they carefully studied everything so that they will have a chance to win the fight in a decision. He just needed two more rounds and who knows what the result will be if it ended on the judges decision.
Next time, I want to see Tapales strengthening those punches. Why? Because the Monster said in his interview that he will stay in the super bantamweight for now and that means another chance to claim the throne with all the belts on the line.
I bet Murodjon Akhmadaliev will also test Inoue and I do believe that if these two boxers clash we will see a brawl could happen.

Yes, it was survival mode for Tapales, but it's more of the body shot that maybe hurt him more than the shot in the head or face as he has a high block defense everytime Inoue will go and try to bust him.

He did shows that he has the uppercut, but it doesn't have the power to stop Inoue. I see him with his good lead right jab, but Inoue eat those at if nothing to him.

Murodjon Akhmadaliev is the mandatory for the IBF if I'm not mistaken, and it was him who own the belt before Tapales took it from him. So they can make that storyline of Naoya Inoue vs Murodjon Akhmadaliev next.
448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 27, 2023, 06:27:32 AM
Tapales survived the first round, it was very slow, but we can see the speed and power of Inoue already.

Marlon is very cautious in the first round and I think he slip just one left counter, so I give the first round to Inoue obviously.

More movement in round 2, I think both are settling down, Tapales though slip. Just observed the feet.

Edit: Tapales down in round 4.

All Inoue show for now, hope it will last 8 rounds. Seems the punches of Tapales never hurt Inoue so I think in the third quarter, Inoue will throw all he got to knockout Tapales here.

Edit: round 10 KO win for Inoue, he was just too powerful for Tapales' defense. The consolation here is that i won my bet of over 7.5.
excited now about what's next for Inoue, will he move up again to the featherweight division and conquer the 130-pound category.

Congrats to your bet, but yes it was all Inoue show, Tapales didn't offer that much resistance, but at least going 10 rounds against the Monster is the best that he can do. Featherweight division? yes, I think he can go there without any problems whatsoever. Vargas will be happy to give him a fight and but his belt on the line to test Naoya Inoue.

I'm not sure 130 lbs, currently we can only hope that he will be boxing for many years and conquer at least 1 or 2 divisions north of his current weight class. I think he should target about Filipino in Casimero. We want to test and see how Casimero's power will do against the iron chin of Inoue.
449  Economy / Speculation / Re: Historical price of Bitcoin on Christmas Day on: December 26, 2023, 04:27:58 PM
And if we look at this historical price:

https://www.coinglass.com/today

The pattern seems to be like the 2016 pre-halving years, but we might see an new pattern emerges as we will be looking for a Spot ETF approval in January.

So in any case though, sentiments are very bullish.
450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Innovation in online gambling on: December 26, 2023, 12:50:40 PM
I would like to make this topic to discuss innovations in online gambling.
Crypto gambling has brought on a lot of innovation in the scene, however some might say that in the last few years online casinos have been sticking with tried and tested strategies, not really introducing that many new games or innovations to existing ones.

So what has been your experiences with gambling recently? Have you seen any games that impressed you?
For me personally I really liked the provably fair blackjack at Stake. I wish there would be more single player card games that are also provably fair.

Not sure what innovation you wanted to see, it seems though that every gambling game has been invented already. Although for slots, it's the theme that they completely developed by this operators, but still the same basic concept, RTP and then bonus rounds.

Black jack has been there and I don't think that there is going to be an innovation, either 21 or bust, easy as that.

I can only think of innovations as like the local plays being adopted by casinos, but I doubt it as it won't bring them more money that's why as much as we wanted to see our version of games rolled into online casinos, it's not going to happen.

452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teofimo Lopez Vs. Jamaine Ortiz WBO Welterweight Title February 8 on: December 26, 2023, 10:46:58 AM
Yeah, but that's still considered a dominant win because he won on the 3 judges scorecard, although both scored 115-113, that's close but we haven't heard any complaints from the side of Teo that they have been cheated or the score is not fair.

You might not call it schooling, but if you read this article from below:

Quote
Despite Lopez's clear dominance, the scorecards were a bit of a scare for the new champion, reading 115-113, 115-113, 117-111.

https://www.cbssports.com/boxing/news/josh-taylor-vs-teofimo-lopez-jr-fight-results-highlights-the-takeover-scores-big-upset-to-earn-wbo-title/live/

The score was close but if we were able to watch the fight, we can say that Teofimo was really the one dictating the fight, so we can also call that schooling since it's expected that Josh Taylor would have a good fight, IIRC, he was even the favorite (probably slight only) but Teofimo steal that moment in the fight as right from the start, it's already evident that Teofimo was very comfortable and winning every round.

I think even Josh Taylor himself knows he lose the fight, so that alone is already a proof that it he was dominated.

Quote
Josh Taylor believes he simply had a “bad night” when he lost to Teofimo Lopez earlier this summer.
https://www.boxingscene.com/josh-taylor-on-rebounding-from-lopez-loss-i-plenty-option-just-bad-night--177694

Yes, that's what I'm trying to say, most of the time the judges scorecard doesn't really reflect what the "real score" inside the ring. Even in the Bivol vs Canelo fight, it's very close in the judges scorecard, but we know that Bivol took Canelo to school and dominated that fight. And yet the judges seems to make the score close to even a conspiracy that they might want Canelo to win on that fight.

Anyhow, fight is still very far and maybe fighters are not yet into serious training right now as they want to just enjoy the holiday with their families.

Or just maybe hitting the gym but not putting serious work, just loosening and maybe next year is where the hard work starts.
453  Economy / Economics / Re: Blockchain fiat Currency on: December 25, 2023, 11:21:25 PM
I have a very serious question to ask Europe and pretty much the rest of the world have a stable financial system that works well for themselves but a lot of other countries especially in Asia and Africa don't have a stable financial system due to mismanagement and corruption I wanted to ask would it be possible to make a financial system in such a way that all monetary transactions took place on the Blockchain with the introduction of a stable fiat currency that runs on the Blockchain and is backed by tangible metals and raw materials like gold, oil, land but such a currency would be available to the entire continent and would be run on the Blockchain mind me it depends on if people use it but it would be their choice let's say the stable fiat currency has more value than the local currency and the local currency could be easily exchanged for the stable fiat currency I think people might adopt it but I would like to know the pros and cons

I don't know, but before we have Venezuela's Maduro having their crypto called "Petrol" and according to reports they've raised around $700 million if I'm not mistaken, but it was a failed experiment though, because they accused Maduro of bloating that numbers and it's not really back up by oil and by today we haven't heard about anything on what happen to this project.

So perhaps if some government in EU or even in ME can come up with a great plan of a crypto being back up by gold or oil or something, it could be a good alternative.

But so far none, and perhaps they are not interested on building one as they know that Fiat is still the king.
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 25, 2023, 11:00:17 PM

Tapales is underestimated, that's not surprising at all as anyone who would fight Inoue would always end up a heavy underdog in the bookies market.

Right now all of Inoue's opponents in his weight division are underestimated because nobody comes close to beating him, Donaire was the closest opponent but on their second fight Inoue knocked him out, Tapales in his last fight, he did not show a performance that can equal Inoue's skill and power, I hope he can put a good fight and Inoue will not hurt him like he did to Donaire.
The fight will be held tomorrow, it is the best gift for both boxers, the winner takes everything, prestige, all the titles if the fight proves to be close there could be a rematch, so let's see how the fight will turn out to be I'm hoping that Tapales could be the one to give Inoue the toughest fight of his life or beat him

Tapales is no exemption of being part of the too underestimated opponents of Inoue. Judging by the betting odds of his fights, you can see how sportsbook sees Inoue as a heavy favorite, this kind of odds looks like a sure winner already.

Inoue is a -400 favorite vs Fulton
Inoue is a    -8,000 favorite vs Butler
Inoue is the -800 favorite vs Donaire (2).

I agree, book makers are putting Tapales currently at almost 10:1 underdog, and then fight not going to last full 12 rounds. But that's it though, we have seen the destructive power of Inoue, just knocking out his opponents and even the American Fulton who some of us think is a great fighter that can give Inoue a challenge, he just steamroll him and then knocking him out.

Tapales though might be different, his demeanor in the weigh-in, his facial expression. He even said that he didn't go to Japan to just have Inoue get a easy fight. He is there to win and beat the Monster. So goodluck to bettors, I personally haven't put my bet yet, but let's see.
455  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fear of December dump is fading away - for Bitcoin on: December 25, 2023, 10:30:08 PM
The market always calculates the news within a week or two of its occurrence, and since the date of making the ETF decision is on January 10, I expect a decline in the price of Bitcoin at the end of the Christmas holidays. The more accurate question is: where will the price fall? Will we see a temporary correction to $38,000 or $32,000 or $28,000 all options are available.

I don't expect any ETF approval in January so I'm betting that by the end of the year we will be at $32k.

Why so bearish at the end of December though? the market is very bullish as this stage and I don't see the price crashing from $43,000 to $32,000 unless there is a big news that can impact that kind of price movement, like a black swan even or something similar to FTX collapse, but there's none.

We might not have a Bitcoin spot ETF approval next month or even this year, but you have to think that around April we have the block halving and that alone as we have seen in the past is the trigger for a bull run. So we will have to wait what 2024 offers, but for sure majority could  be leaning or a bull run. Maybe can see the price going about $69,000 or the current all time high, but it might continue to grow and that magic number of 6 digits.
456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It is you who can't stop betting. on: December 25, 2023, 10:10:20 PM
Happy Christmas to all gamblers. I have been reading some threads and comments that many people have been saying that they find it very difficult to stop gambling (not only gambling addicts), but on one hand, I really think that it is not hard to quit gambling even when you are winning and not winning, but it is you who can't control yourself. Bets can not force one to stake, but a gambler can force themselves to stake a bet, even when he or she does not have money to bet. Some gamblers did not learn how to gamble. They just see themselves doing it, but they can't stop it. Why because they can't control themselves, even when they are not an addicted gambler?
What do we have to say about this?

Everything is based on emotions though, but there are gamblers that can control themselves, maybe they have a budget or just playing for fun. So they don't count as addicted gamblers. I don't know if you gamble though or not, because most of the time we give advises base on our experience.

But if you haven't gone through the process, you wouldn't understand what gambling addiction means or what is gambling per se.

Maybe you try it yourself and see how you can "control" yourself.
457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL bitcoins, you can do it! Look at HODL camp map to build up strong hands on: December 25, 2023, 08:30:35 AM

And see where your current HODLing at and maybe you can project yourself where you want to be in that chart. So you can build your strong hands thru DCA and then in conjunction with this site, align yourself so best of luck.  Smiley
458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teofimo Lopez Vs. Jamaine Ortiz WBO Welterweight Title February 8 on: December 24, 2023, 09:24:50 AM
I thought Lopez has already announced his retirement from professional boxing? These boxers announcing retirement cannot stick to their word probably because of money and the desire to fight.

Ortiz is probably an easy opponent for Teofimo. Teofimo is still quick, so in terms of points he may outscore Ortiz. In terms of powerful punch that will bring the fight to an end anytime within rounds, Teofimo has also more power than Ortiz, so I think Lopez is still at an advantage. But I voted Lopez by UD.

I didn't think that you will believed his retirement announcement though? I mean he is still very young to retire and you can see from his personality that he make controversial statements and probably his retirement announcement is just one antics on his fight. I guess he already proves that he has power in this division and now he beat the unify champion in Josh Taylor. So this is his first time to defend his belt, so I think he will be the favorite and has all the advantage and possible that he can KO Lopez here although I think Ortiz could be bigger fight night if there is no rehydration clause.

Yes, Teofimo's mouth sometimes releases words and statements that haven't gone through his brain. But his decision to cancel that retirement is probably just right. He is still young and can still do a lot of things in the ring, not to mention continue making money. It's still easy for him to look for opponents.

What do you mean he can KO Lopez? You mean Lopez can KO Ortiz? That's possible because Teofimo has strong punches. But I'm not expecting so much from Lopez anymore. That UD win over Taylor is not an indication of power. That was a close fight and Taylor wasn't even knocked down.

Yeah, but if you look at the score, it was UD win for Lopez, so meaning he almost win every round and you can say that he schooled the former unified champion at 140 lbs. And the handed the first defend of Taylor so that shows how good Lopez is, despite his showboating at times and then releasing controversial statement in the media.

And what's important is that he won, he might not knock down Taylor, but it's a hard fought fight and in the end he emerges as victories.

So in this fight, we might see Lopez style, maybe going into another 12 full round fight is Ortiz is tougher, or if he can take his punch then maybe he will push and want to score a knockout win.

A unanimous decision win doesn't mean the winner is winning almost every round or schooling the opponent. Teofimo indeed won via a unanimous decision against Taylor, but did you take a look at the official score cards? One judge gave 117-111 for Lopez. That's a score which means Lopez dominated the fight. But the other two judges gave the same score, 115-113 for Teofimo. That means Lopez won 7 of the 12 rounds and Taylor won 5. 7 versus 5 doesn't mean the winner is schooling his opponent. Schooling is like Haney recently winning over Prograis. He won via UD with all three judges giving 120-107. That's schooling.

Yeah, but that's still considered a dominant win because he won on the 3 judges scorecard, although both scored 115-113, that's close but we haven't heard any complaints from the side of Teo that they have been cheated or the score is not fair.

You might not call it schooling, but if you read this article from below:

459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between Physical and Online Gambling which makes a person more addicted on: December 24, 2023, 04:01:29 AM
I have been wondering with a little doubt in me between Physical and Online Gambling which makes a person prone to being addicted cause I have this friend of mine who doesn't know how to gamble online but when it comes to physical gambling he does it without compromising any of the consequences before hands.

Now it has made every little discussion that leads to argument an avenue to gamble, always ready to stake huge amount just to prove himself right. I consider this being addiction and I am always advising him to drop this lifestyle.

Do you think Online Gambling has the worst potential of making a person addicted?

Both of them have the potential to produced more addicts in the future. But I would say though that online gambling might be taking the numbers from the physical casinos. It's obvious that we have access to online casinos more than ever.

And with the pandemic like 2-3 years, a lot of old school gamblers learn how to play online and I believed that some of them are now just staying at home playing at the comfort of their home without going and traveling to land base casino. Of course, from time to time, they will, but I think they're more fine playing at home and anytime they want.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder Vs Parker & Joshua Vs Wallin Boxing Mega Saudi card 23rd December on: December 23, 2023, 11:33:15 PM
This is a big shocker Wilder just lost to Joseph Parker by a unanimous decision Parker dominated Wilder from start to finish he could not land his big right he was stationary while Parker was moving and had good timing with his jabs and right, it must be because of a very long lay off and not facing a high caliber fighter like Parker, Joseph attributed his winnings to Fury's advice and training with him, it looks like we are not going to see the Wilder -Joshua match, after this upset.

Most like yes, we will not see the fight between AJ and Wilder anymore as he lost this fight. What's the record if Wilder in the last 4 fights? 1-3? I think he is done with this lost. Of course he can still make a comeback and make some money along the way. But I guess he is no longer in his prime, we can say that it's because of the long layoff, but with the way Parker dominated him? Nah, I don't think so.

Judges even didn't give him a round to win in this fight. So AJ might have been pissed off because he won't be able to fight Wilder.

They should have face way before, like 2018 when both are two of the hottest HW. But now, it's going to be too late as fans might not be interested anymore.
