Ahem... I'll just leave this here. http://virtualminingcorp.com/  Grin

Trying real hard not to be rude when you post a counter point using a project that has a 10x higher valuation providing less proof of working tech.

Sorry, an eASIC press release is pretty much proof of working tech.  I think ActM has a lot of issues but their chips should have zero problems.  They'll actually have the exact same wiring as the FPGAs they're copied from, as they are using an FPGA copy process - which means 100% testability as well.

The problems I see for them are putting together circuitboards, delay, and so on. Plus competing directly with hashfast and cointerra in the same time frame.

Labcoin's major benefit was it's time to market, and that's being eaten away.

boards should be ready when chips arrive and putting chips onto boards isn't exactly hard - a one man operation can do ~400 boards/day (quoted from memory from a avalon building project). the only delay can be the chips, and with avoiding overloaded TSMC, i think they are in the best spot possible.

we have actually met ken in person and nothing has risen suspicion, the share price is low because some whales decided to dump out of nowhere and weak hands followed.

You mean it's not related to a tremendously disappointing announcement?

the only announcement i remember is where they released the easic press release and share price tripled and then returned to slightly above normal.

Someone please help it get over 0.003 again, The Show Must Go On! I guess.

More seriously, I see no reason to buy that stock in the short term (they said themselves nothing would come out before 6 weeks... 3x Two Weeks *cough*), and neither in the long run: the difficulty is going up crazy, about 50% a month, and there will likely be several flavours of 28nm ASICs not even in six weeks... so do the math!

They act like if the hold up doesn't matter, like if difficulty wasn't playing a crucial role in a matter of weeks *now*, not in 6 weeks. Well anyway... people will say they will put more hardware, but what kind of hardware, what profitability in 1, 2, 3, 6, 12 months?

Anyway...I'm out already. I was really disappointed in tonight announcement, obviously. Maybe the future will prove me wrong but I consider holding being at risk atm, sorry for supporters (and holders...)

take the opportunity to buy cheap activemining shares man!

The next update will include a mining address as well. We are confident in fact that the price will raise tenfold in respect to IPO price in reasonable time, and advise anyone until 30/10/2013 to take any final decision.

Labcoin

When will you rename the company Lostcoin? That's what happened to your investors.

i thought we were all stupid for investing in other companies instead?

132  Economy / Marketplace / Re: A natural market for bitcoin on: September 11, 2013, 06:01:25 PM
Unfortunately, I can't find a link to an online version of this article.  I found an article in last week's Business Week that is an issue that just seems like the natural market for bitcoins: pot stores.  Marijuana is now legal in Washington and Colorado states, but still technically illegal on the federal level.  The article was titled "Banks dread contact high from pot stores" and these stores were forced to deal in cash only and pay sales tax in cash.  They were asking if they need to have an armored truck service just to pay their bills.

I was immediately thinking that these merchants using bitcoin would make their lives easier when I read this.  Sure there's security issues involved with bitcoin too, but they've gotta be a lot easier to deal with than transporting cash around in armored trucks.  They were having to pay their sales tax bills in cash because of this.  Coinbase could be a solution to this problem if someone could convince the Colorado and Washington state tax boards to accept it because they convert it into cash immediately so they wouldn't have to deal with bitcoin price fluctuations.

Know a pot farmer in either of these states?  Let them know about bitcoin, you may just make their lives a lot easier.

These guys are already getting lots of trouble from the Feds & Federal laws, which as you might know, still consider weed illegal. I would think it twice before I added a payment system that would potentially gather more legal attention towards my business.

this is called a chilling effect.

i doubt the feds are gonig to knock on your door for accepting bitcoin - its not like they would be able to prove you have ever done a transfer in btc

the clear solution is to let lew work on the website and reimburse him.

how do you think bfl got so many sales? it wasn't their back end that is for sure. it was their professional looking website and advertising. we have the advertising down for the most part, we just need a modern looking website. it gives the impression of professionalism.

i just really want us to succeed. more sales equals more dividends and increased share price in the long run.

we have the opportunity to be the best of all worlds. the allure of bfl, the efficiency of asicminer, and the efficient miners of avalon.
135  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: This exchange offer a scam?? on: September 11, 2013, 04:54:25 PM
Hi - in this deal the buyer is wary of the seller....
Its not about the Paypal.
Thanks.

due to the mechanics of the trade, the person PMing is selling bitcoin and accepting paypal.

this means that if the person does not deliver, OP, the buyer, can easily get their money back. as you can then see, it does not matter who sends first what so ever. for being around longer than me, you should know this by now. especially because you espouse yourself o be a bitcoin trader.

you saying this isn't about paypal is like saying this thread isn't about bitcoin.
136  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: September 11, 2013, 04:50:59 PM
for selling holders - estimated next div is 9/14 if done day of difficulty change, 9/15 if done day after.

next difficulty estimated ~111mil, around 27.5% increase. just estimates.
137  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Did i just get Fucked by BFL on: September 11, 2013, 04:17:16 PM
well, you did "purchase" a bfl "product", so by definition you got fucked.

fucked hard.

suspending production while your roi goes out the window...

the best you can do now is sell off your preorder for maybe slightly more than what you paid.

good luck on your unfucking.
138  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: September 11, 2013, 03:32:37 PM
So the price of mining or price of selling really does not matter. Even if the MINING is over priced, holders of SELLING will only win when the MINING price comes back to the correct value. Selling holders  lose money if the MINING price keeps high unless you hold it till the fund closed. But remember, when fund closes, MINING holders get 365 * daily dividend.

"DMS.SELLING - Is a bet that people will pay too much for DMS.MINING."

apologies - i should be irritated at myself for not reading 100% of the the fine print.

i will stop whining and try my best to get out of this with as little loss as possible, and perhaps buy a lot of mining when it looks like the fund is going to collapse for a massive protection.
139  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: September 11, 2013, 03:05:20 PM
The selling's dividend is a refund due to difficulty increase. It equals 388 * old daily mining dividend - 400 * new mining dividend + invest income. So the price of mining or price of selling really does not matter. Even if the MINING is over priced, holders of SELLING will only win when the MINING price comes back to the correct value. Selling holders  lose money if the MINING price keeps high unless you hold it till the fund closed. But remember, when fund closes, MINING holders get 365 * daily dividend.

yes, i should have done more research before investing.

it seems mining investors are heavily favored in the terms.
140  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: September 11, 2013, 02:47:57 PM
i did some napkin math and looking at the current price of dms mining compared with the new price of USB miners, basically the least efficient mining option, and dms mining is almost twice as expensive per mh. very rough calculation, obviously excluding electricity cost but still. am i missing something? for some reason i feel like something is off.

i hope this means for some good dividends for selling.
