21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone remember when Bitcoin was hard forked? on: July 28, 2014, 01:37:09 PM
Not all hard fork necessarily heal, there are currently 3 full-time developers working on Bitcoin, if this monetary system would be developed by say, Oracle, with +200 programmers working on it fulltime we wouldn't have that risk.
What are you trying to say? That the quantity of developers matters here? Something could go wrong even if we had not 3, not 30 but 300 people working on it.
The problem is that people panic when a hard fork is about to happen/happens. Else it should/could go smooth.

@OP Why is this relevant? This gives some people even more reason to spread FUD.

The quantity of dedicated developers matters here, if there were enough skilled developers the hardfork would be detected before it occurred.

Is birdshot adequate to take down a drone, or would you need buckshot?

Wonder for how long you'd have to slave away to pay the owner for his property

Still more fair than Bit777 and other clown casinos, and they get some action.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Having Its Moment But There Are Better Sustainable Currencies on: July 28, 2014, 12:47:38 AM
Proof of stake is shit, why would I use a currency where an elite can issue and reverse transactions as they please and only they get issued new currency, kind of reminds you of the existing monetary system doesn't it? The whole argument that if the elite would become tyrannical in a PoS system they would hurt themselves the most by devaluing their own assets is incredibly stupid, doesn't nearly every major monetary system create inflation in excess of the "ideal" or "projected" rate and the sheeple still eat it up? The sheeple can put up with a lot of abuse like razor thin safety margins, defaults, uneven distribution and even gambling away their life savings by letting criminal tyrants control them financially as long as you have a couple of clown experts in suits saying that it's all for the best.

Don't assume that POS means that an elite can issue and reverse transactions or get issued new currency.   Sure that may be the case with Peercoin, but it isn't the case with Nxt or BitShares.

In fact, I would argue that POW means an elite can issue and reverse transactions because they can control the POW with their access to the latest manufacturing and economies of scale.   Regular users get debased with all POW systems.   So sheeple will tolerate POW based upon the bogus cost-theory-of-value economics.

You see it isn't technology that rules, but the people using the technology the define what is "valid" or "legitimate".   So POS and POW are protected against inflation and arbitrary rule by the same social process.  POW just consumes 100's of millions in resources every year that make us all poorer while creating barriers to entry that protect the bitcoin elite.

So what are the barriers? Intellectual barriers? Perhaps you'd be better off siding with the commie bastards that claim that bitcoin is too complex for the average joe thus distribution is not fair.

How can we know for certain that someone will not buy out Bitshares or Nxt to gain 51% or that the distribution was fair to begin with, you do get issued more currency the more you have after all. The current banking system is wasting such significant resources that if they all switched to Bitcoin it would cost less than 1% of the resources that the banking system is wasting currently, it's nothing more than propaganda aiming to harm BTC that the whole system "wastes" anything.

All that energy is allocated towards securing a monetary system in a decentralized manner and it does so in an extremely secure way requiring a fraction of the energy that centralized monetary systems use and I would rather have it take up 100,000 times as much energy as PoS and have it secure rather than based on words of tyrants.

27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will bitcoin be the irrational exuberance of our times? on: July 27, 2014, 11:38:24 PM
The dotcom bubble is tons and  tons of shitty altcoins with no original innovation that prey on the foolishness of the general masses (since only the elite can comprehend the genius behind BTC).
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Satoshi Nakamoto be world's first trillionaire ? on: July 27, 2014, 06:38:50 PM
Nah. He would have to sell his coins to become a trillionaire by definition. I can't see the market value of Bitcoin being anywhere near high enough for his current holdings - assuming that he can still even spend them - to amount to enough.

Then you need to find sellers - any spend activity around satoshi's known addresses would cause a huge push for sells.

Maybe he can become a trillionaire in some weak currency.

LOL, someone is thinking in fiat.

Investing your life savings into Bitcoin is borderline retarded and indicative of a low financial intelligence.

Knowing the U.S. and the history of inflationary monetary systems we'll all be trillionaires in no time

34  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinobit - LIVE ROULETTE - [INVEST] - BEST CASINO OF 2013 on: July 26, 2014, 03:00:25 AM
Sorry that I have been gone for so long everyone.

I wanted to apologize for the losses that my customers have endured, I know it doesn't make it right but I was 18 at the time and grossly mismanaged my business. It sure gave me a lot of experience and after witnessing the epic fails of Mt. Gox and other manchildren-run businesses I feel as if I was wiser as a teenager than Karpeles, Kluge and a couple of other honorable mentions of businessmen gambling with the investments such as Klye and so on.

I might have grossly mismanaged my business but I never lied about the risks associated with investing in my casino, nor did I lie about having any experience which I did not or any profit which you couldn't have potentially made.

I was always taught that a true apology must start with a confession and the person apologizing taking responsibility. So what happened in Casinobit exactly was that the investment calculation script was introduced to a live website instead of testing it first on testnet like many casinos do, a small bug was present in the calculation of the stake which resulted in a minuscule difference between the amount invested and divested. Dishonest members have quickly found this problem and exploited it by repeatedly divesting and investing so their sum of BTC grew unevenly, once ~100BTC was lost (1/3 of the investment as I recall at the top of my head) the bug was quickly fixed by me. Aggressive measures of damage control have taken place with me attempting to keep the flow of income from the casino by discouraging other members from divesting (since no additional BTC was being lost) to ultimately make all the investors whole.

I take full responsibility for introducing the investment bug into the casino, it was extremely foolish, very unprofessional and juvenile. No responsible businessman would do that to a functioning, live casino without testing it a million times over first.

Ultimately I haven't made a single bitcent from that casino and in fact lost some of my own Bitcoins to investors as well as months of my time. I am quite flattered that people seem to think that I ran off with 80,000$, I would probably be on a yacht somewhere in Thailand if this was true. I ask all members that withdrew to be honest and admit that they have the BTC instead of blaming me for stealing the whole sum.

Also to clear things up a bit I am not in any sort of legal/civil trouble despite the fact that multiple criminal cases have been opened against me in a couple of countries for running an illegal casino due to the reports of my customers.

My main motive for coming forward today is that I don't want to be associated with the fat pigs that live in skyskrapers in Tokyo while holding million dollar debts to our dear community which I very much care about.

Your humble servant, Max.
