81  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Good price at CEX.io on: November 23, 2013, 06:03:50 PM
Hi

If I put in $1000 in this, what kind of profits should I see. Am I better holding on to that $1000 in bitcoin?

1000,- aint that much, just hold one BTC and let the rest run a CEXIO

Do the math, lthere a many mining profit calculators you can use. There is one on cex.io. Current price for 1ghs is bout .08BTC.
That is considered very high. Before putting in money in cex.io or any hardware, you need a understanding of how difficulty increases effect your profit, or lack thereof. Till you know and understand what you are getting into. Stay away from mining, cloud or hardware.

Maybe buy a couple of USB Block Erupters and run them for a month as a learning tool. You could also by a tiny amount at cex.io like .20ghs and see for youself. Risk 20 dollars not 1000, till you know what your are dealing with.

I am not opposed ot mining. I have hardware and cloud ghs. I just dont recommend  getting into it until you have a good understanding of it and the risks involved.

I find this thread funny because I use CEX.io to trade, frequently, so my hashing rate on there is going to go up and down frequently as well.

If you are sitting on your cloud mining GH/s and not buy and selling you may be missing out on non-mining profits.  That's my 2 cents.

I think I bought in to high, I have seen a good price to trade a without some loss. I would think you need to have  at least 100 or 200 ghs to make good on small spreads.

It has reached it on MtGox not on the others.

I mentioned I am using MTGox pricing and it did reach 475 then pull back a bit. We are hitting all time highs as I type this. Good support at 477. If it stays above that level, we should see 500 before Monday.

Butterfly Labs 5Ghps is good if send quick

Quick for BFL could mean 6 to 12 months.

I sure hope it reaches that $475 Smiley

We just passed 475 MTGox prices. Magic 8 Ball was off  by a day or so.
Price hit a wall at 447 several times before we got a break out. Support has move from 410 to 445-450.
We may see a run up to 500  by Monday. Chart looks better with a more gradual slope up not as scary as last week.
Should be a nice rally.

This does not seem like a good deal at all.....am I missing something here?

You didn't miss anything, the hash is overpriced and for some reason there are many people buying them...

Price is better than USB Block Erupters and Blue/Red Furry. Remember when 333mhs BE where selling for
over 200.00. You also have a opportunity to trade your shares. You can average the cost of your shares down by buying lower later.
You can get free shares from referrals. You dont have to wait 3 or 6 months for your preorder/backorder to ship. If you have hardware you can point it ot Ghash.IO and mine with zero fees. I have some GHs some bought, some is from my hardware and some from referral.
Price per ghs will become more realistic when the novelty wears off.

Gox is $447, and even with that we might not hit it.

Which CST?

CST   China Standard Time   Asia   UTC + 8 hours
CST   Central Standard Time   Central America   UTC - 6 hours
CST   Cuba Standard Time   Caribbean   UTC - 5 hours
CST   Central Standard Time   North America   UTC - 6 hours
I'm not sure. Ask OP.

Central Standard Time US and I ref MTGox prices.
94  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does anyone have experience with mining on CEX.IO? on: November 14, 2013, 12:35:04 PM

If you are thinking of using CEX.io then please read this.

Mining alone is unlikely to be profitable - make sure that you understand that the price will fluctuate and if it goes down you need to be mining more than the reduction in price.

Try it CEX.io, but make sure you invest enough and sell it before the price drops.

The experience of mining on there is great, and much more fun than the BFL 60Ghs that I had if done right.

Fluctuating  prices is what can make you money on cex.io. Example you buy 100gh for .010BTCfor a total of 10BTC and at the same time put in a sell order for .102. when it sell you now have 10.2BTC.  You have Just made yourself 0.20BTC $83 bucks USD. How many times in a day/week could you find such an opportunity. There are no fees for trading ghs.
95  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cex.io help please on: November 14, 2013, 05:43:37 AM
I see alot of people talking about cex.io and buying gh there etc. and I dont understand the concept of the website at all. Would anyone be kind enough to explain?
For me on CEX.io over a week now  up to about 7ghs most of it bought with alt coin sales from gpu mining. With that said, i am super impressed with the CEX.IO concept and now they have merged 3 alt coins to the mix. I plan to move most of my focus on cloud type hashing as far as BTC goes,,,will still alt mine as it feeds my G/Hash funds lol,,,I like it so far highy recommend.....and and have also wihdrawn funds and all went smooth.

I am liking it too. Trying to get to 100ghs. I have 51 and I pointed my harware to their pool, and added my hardware hash. No fees on pool. I have gotten .46ghs from refferals.

My stats...

I'm not putting any offers in BTC at the moment but you are currently asking about $170 for the whole setup.

I am willing to offer $100 in MoneyPak tonight. Possibly can do BTC as well. Let me know.

Take the 100 in BTC  and run like you stole something.
97  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does anyone have experience with mining on CEX.IO? on: November 14, 2013, 05:16:16 AM
Before you buy GH/s on cex.io, it would probably be a good idea to figure out how much it will mine. I think you will find that 0.09 BTC will mine less than 0.06 BTC.

Yes but then you can sill it for 0.08 (or whatever the price is) once you are done resulting in a 0.05 profit!

You also can reinvest and increase you ghs. I am just about at the point I can and I ghs daily. I am trying to get to 100ghs. Im looking to sell right before the next diff increase and buy back lower. Looking for .10BTC to sell out and wait. But if price of btc busts 500, I might have to stay in.
98  Economy / Speculation / BTC 475 by 8am CST 14Nov on: November 14, 2013, 04:43:44 AM
Magic 8 balls says that BTC bounced off of resistance when it tried to test 450 level when it hit a wall at 447. Previous support was at 365 and firm support now at about 410. Today's rally was driven my strong buying in the wee hours that broke through the resistance at the 400 lever. Weaks hand continued the rally till it broke an acrylic  nail at 447.

Magic 8 balls says  we have a classic double  head and shoulders chart formation  and we will pass 450. If Chinese Viagra is weak, rally will be flaccid and  well sell off tomorrow to the some where between support level 410 and 425.

You and get you own Magic 8 Ball for only 8BTC send payment to 16MX1SxtVJtaSfpDeSAe2aeL9JiPJMJWPQ if you found this mildly entertaining send donations to the same address. Dont be cheap, you know you spent 200 bucks each for 40  USB Block Erupter. I need the money I lost my life saving when I bought a mule ranch and the dam things would'nt breed.
99  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does anyone have experience with mining on CEX.IO? on: November 14, 2013, 04:21:46 AM
I like the UI and the site is very profession looking. Merged mining is a plus. I have about 25ghs in actual hardware and 40ghs  bought at Cex.io. Price per ghs is cheap if you compare to the large 400ghs miners. However its a much better deal than the other low entry cost that you can lay your hands on quickly. 1btc will get you 10ghs and you can get a ttaste of mining for a tenth of that. You can also sell you ghs and at  all, some or most of you BTC back. If prices continue to rise maybe even make a profit. Some are doing well playing the ghs price swings

Having said that it may be best to just buy BTC and hold. My 20/20 hindsite tells me that I would be way ahead If I had just held the BTC that I spent on hardware. I spent 6 or 8BTC on a BFL Jalapeno that had a selling price of 249USD.  If you really want to mine Cex.IO is not a bad option. You can see my stats below and click on it for more info.
