601  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders :: Get bitcoin loans, and earn interest on your deposits! on: June 05, 2013, 04:42:58 PM
So you have opened and withdrawn from cd's with no issue?

I am always hearing about how you must keep your coins stored offline and backed up etc for safety. How safe is it to leave your money with coinlenders?

It is less safe than offline, but it generates profit. Profit always means risk!

An essential solution is keeping part of your coins offline and part in different investments, so you never lose all your coins.

A couple more questions here.

In which city are you going to host? Russia is so big and Russian Post could sometimes be so slow and unreliable, you know.
What experience of mining and/or hardware hosting do you have? Could you please give some more details about hosting (power supply, ISP connection, security etc.).
1. I go hosting in Barnaul.
2. I  have been mining since 2011, i have 4xHD5870, Now i have 2x7870 and mine for idea.
3. Maximum capacity of the wiring in my apartment is 10 kwatt, in addition I have the non-residential premises. I have two personal computer with USB 3.0 on board.
4. ISP - Rostelecom, 12 mbit/s by GPON. http://www.altai.rt.ru/
5. The apartment is constantly in my family, so the security is high.

Thank you!
However, asking about network connection, I rather expected to hear which backup options you are planning. See, at current BTC price and 10x current difficulty, 5 devices will be making $235 per day. This means that several hours of downtime (which may eventually happen with any ISP) are worth a wireless modem, which can provide backup connection.
604  Local / Барахолка / Re: [Предзаказ] Bitfury ASIC 65nm on: June 05, 2013, 11:35:29 AM

A+C, you didn't ship my order of 40?

I'm not amused and very disappointed if you didn't ship mine. Unless it's packed and ready for shipping.
Why did you bought 40? That is 84BTC+. You get a blade for 49BTC direct to you and has same about hashes... If you would add just 3 USBs you would get the same for 55BTC only... And it would probably worked more stable and be setup more easily(no need to buy USB hubs).

These sticks are not profitable anyway, so no sense to compare to blades. Probably he ordered for local resale or maybe for souvenir presents.

So you have one of 500 early pre-orders, right? Could you show a screenshot please?

Also, why don't you pick a new clean BTC address for the group buy instead of used one? Just wondering.
609  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] 1 KNC Miner Saturn 175 GH/s miner + hosting (10 shares) LIVE on: June 05, 2013, 07:02:22 AM
Should the Group Buy not sell all 10 shares within 48 hours I reserve the right to refund all share holders their purchase price -5% for transaction fees and management of the group buy.

The most weird and risky part. Why do you take 0.175 BTC for a couple of clicks? And why do potential investors have to risk their 5% in the very beginning?
610  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: 120Gh ASIC for 23,5 BTC shipping, hosting, group buy! on: June 05, 2013, 05:51:16 AM
Hello! Please reserve 2 shares in the group buy for me. Will be able to pay in several hours.

NVC P2Pool currently has no support for cooperative nodes, all payments will be performed only to your wallet. To prevent obvious questions you need to stop your node before there are any payouts done. New P2Pool with cooperative nodes support will be started two days later from the "fresh list", with the new shares chain.

By coincidence, I implemented mining to worker's address just a couple of days before (with your p2pool code). It has been running fine for 2 or 3 days in Bitbar network (which is NVC clone), finding blocks and paying out to miners. The patch is about 20 lines of awful hack-shit-code, but it works! To mine on a public node running this code, miner has to specify NVC public key (not an address!) as its username. Changes go down to this:

612  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSE] Block Erupter USB @ 2.10 BTC + parcel -> Shipping to anywhere! on: June 04, 2013, 09:27:24 PM

I am sorry for the mess... Now your payments are complete. Check it out.

How do I know if I am in the first batch? I did one of the first orders, but paid almost the last. Do we receive email with details?

All paid orders up to 27/05/2013 16:00:00 (UTC) are part of the first batch.

I assume you will use the timestamp of the 1st payment and not one reported in the sheet now Wink

As I see an order paid on the 30th as shipped; and after re-reading the above. Is my order still in the 1st batch? (JJ)
My order shows as paid on the "27/05/2013 18:33:58" due to the shuffling; but I already paid on the 25th.  https://blockchain.info/tx/68d5aa1887ee3836f292a3ffdf965acd2aa9a6a4c3501262df3a78d24b5cf09f

To be honest, I just can't wait to play with the USB stick asap Wink

+1
My payment time is correct on both sheets. According to it, my order has to be in the first batch, but no shipment record.

30 packages dispatch!

Could you please send an e-mail (ideally with tracking number) when you ship? I'd like to know at least one day before the package arrives. My local post office is the weak link in international delivery chain so I should pay them a preemptive visit before my package gets lost, stolen, forgot somewhere in corner, or re-sent somewhere by accident Grin

Never mind, found delivery list in the Trader's book.

615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BTB][P2POOL][UPDATED] Source + 0% public node! Read instructions carefully! on: June 04, 2013, 04:46:44 PM
Is that 0.5% for all blocks in Bitbar or just the way you set it up on this pool?

It is set in original p2pool code (for BTC and all other coins). The rest 99.5% of block reward is distributed between miners proportionally to amount of work done.
616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BTB][P2POOL][UPDATED] Source + 0% public node! Read instructions carefully! on: June 04, 2013, 04:20:55 PM
Does it show who found the last block?  Cgminer said rejected on the share that said BLOCK! on my console.

I guess (not sure though) that cgminer said rejected because the share was stale. This means that a new share was already found by someone else before you submitted yours. However, in p2pool, we need stale shares because a stale share can be a valid block if it satisfies block difficulty.

To find out who found a block, click on the arrow in the rightmost cell of the table on the stats page. Then look for 'payout address'. BTW, block solver receives 0.5% of its value in addition to his payout.
617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] http://www.bitbarpool.com Another Big Vern pool on: June 04, 2013, 02:45:58 PM
NVC was pre-mine, and only less than half of the pre-mine were publicly destroyed.

65k were premined and 110k (65k premined + 45k instamined) destroyed. At the moment of destruction, 110k was about half of all coins.
But it depends on your 'pre-mine' definition. NVC was announced in Russian section of Bitcointalk, just like CHNcoin was announced on a Chinese forum, but who said that coins must be announced in English?

I don't think insta-mine is as bad as pre-mine. Every coin has to start by rewarding early adopters, otherwise no one would help to promote it. If a coin start with sky high difficulty, it'll just be dead in the water with no one mining it. In the long term, the insta-mine portion is tiny compared to the total amount of coin that will be produced. You can think of the instamine as a bounty for early miners/adopters.

You can also think of the premine as a bounty for the developers. A coin can be launched at moderate difficulty if the devs release the source a month or two before launch, so that everyone can get ready, including pools.
618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] http://www.bitbarpool.com Another Big Vern pool on: June 04, 2013, 01:42:04 PM
Seems like this coin has more stability and staying power.
There was a 2000 BTB instamine by the dev and bitbar insiders. That represents over 60% of all BTB in existence.

I'm ashamed at Vern for supporting this scamcoin.

Instamined by the devs just like any other coin, including BTC. The only 'relatively fair' coin is NVC, where the devs publicly destroyed their coins after a massive hate attack on the forums.

They're working on a concensus

One does not need any concensus to post 10 lines of code.
620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][Stratum][Pool] www.bitbarpool.com Another Big Vern pool on: June 04, 2013, 12:38:24 PM
Its great to have more pools/distribution for Bitbar.

For even more distribution, mine BTB in p2pool by either running your own (working source code is here!) or joining one of public nodes.
