125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [WTS] 10k lots of bbqcoin for 1.5btc per lot get them before the exchange on: April 29, 2013, 01:45:13 PM
Hi,
due to btc having a good day, I would trade you 1 btc for 10k

If OP's price were in USD then it would be relative, but not now, since price is in BTC or ltc
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BBQ and mincoin under threat of 51% attack on: April 28, 2013, 05:16:16 AM
To 51% a chain you need to modify the wallet client and solo mine, so that you can merge "your" modified chain to the original one to add the invalid blocks. (also you need more than 51% hash power of the network to do so)
The pool is actually solo mining with your hashes (and then spreading the coins).

So the threat of 51%'ing it is real only if the pool operator has a modified client and uses your hashes to do it.

EDIT: Then again, if the pool operator had a modified client, the blockcount shown there would be different than the real blockcount (EDIT3: and you wont receive any coins that you mined in most cases)
EDIT2: When a new coin comes, and there are only a few or only one miner hashing, he/they has/have more than 51% of the total network hashrate, and the coin doesnt die. Else every coin would be dead by the first day of its existence

130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BBQCoin, the coin you want to eat. on: April 25, 2013, 02:58:52 PM
I have troubles trying solo mining.

My OS is Ubuntu, so I had to build bbqcoin from source. I've grabbed the source from https://github.com/Cubox-/BBQCoin.git, installed required dependencies and have built the binary.

Here is my bbqcoin.conf:

server=1
testnet=0
daemon=1
gen=0
rpcuser=mi1
rpcpassword=87135c634ec8867f

bbqcoind successfully started and downloaded all the blocks.

When the miner connected, no matter what particular miner, I've tried cgminer, bfgminer and cpuminer, bbqcoind write this message to debug.log:

accepted connection 127.0.0.1:47143

PROCESSMESSAGE MESSAGESTART NOT FOUND

And some time later miner writes: "HTTP request failed: Operation timed out after 30001 milliseconds"

How to deal with the troubles?

You also have to set rpcport and rpcallowip

EDIT: wtf is up with that password? :O

134  Economy / Goods / Re: Physical Bitcoin (Novelty) Awesome Design, Heavy, Well Built Coins - Gold Plated on: April 23, 2013, 11:11:13 PM
I don't think its necessary to make one side flat in order to make it bitcoin-loadable. I don't know how you plan on doing it, but just generate a QR code of the private key, size it accordingly, apply it so the blank side of the QR code is against the hologram and the inked side will be against the coin. The hologram should be able to handle a slight contour. Just my two cents-I don't want you to ruin one of your coins if trying to make it flat doesn't work out!

Thanks for your input. The answer for flatening the one side of the coin is sandpaper, hours of rubbing it on sandpaper. Got the idea from this: http://www.m.haly.dsl.pipex.com/UFO_Photo/lap_CPU.jpg
Though, i will have to nickel (and/or gold plate) them on that side again. The biggest problem that i found is the damn hologram-stickers.

I will sacrifice one of those coins when they come, to see how it turns out. If i fail they will be just be a nice addition to my collection Smiley
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Novacoin.org on: April 23, 2013, 10:05:19 PM
coating a turd with gold doesn't change the fact that it is still a turd. Novascam is a scam plain and simple. Invest and I hope you lose your money  Cheesy

Good old smoothie Tongue Kinda missed your posts
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Want to buy BBQcoins with 10 Litecoins on: April 23, 2013, 03:54:59 PM
lol go on to devalue any value they might have Tongue
I bet if Capt doesnt accept an offer for one week more we will see 100k BQC going for 10 LTC
It would be funny, and i will make an identical thread then
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 24h auctions: Litecoin for Bytecoins on: April 23, 2013, 03:50:42 PM
I can sell you 125 BTE for 120 LTC

Thanks, but I'm not looking for direct offers.  This is more about pricing data and all in fun entertainment than it is about acquiring BTE.

If you're interested, I would love to list your order for 120.0 LTC for 125.0 BTE on RBCex.

Just saw there that there is a sell order of 5 BTE for 10 LTC
So i change my price to 150 LTC for 125 BTE

Dont put it on the googledocs, just leave it here for anyone interested
