I bought them back on Black Friday when Newegg and others were blowing them out. I actually have 3 more new in box sitting on the shelf that I bought for a friend who didn't want them so I will be selling them off. ROI if LTC price holds reasonably steady should be 45-50 days.

Because the 280s are better from a cost/performance standpoint Same reason everyone wanted 7950s. Don't get me wrong the R290s are nice, they just are power hogs and you don't get the same ratio out of them. The cost of building with 290s makes it harder to ROI because the increased hash they give doesn't outweigh the premium you pay for them.

Shut it down, wait a couple, reboot.

One suggestion if you have space... take them out of the frame and get fans pointed directly at the heatsinks. The design is space efficient but not heat efficient.

I stood up a 4x R9 280 rig yesterday. Took about $1900 in parts and a couple hours work but I admit I have a pretty decent knowledge of PC building. Without any real tweaks I'm hashing away at ~2800. So less than $1 a hash. You guys are asking basically double that plus the hosting and management fees and it's not coming online for a few weeks as the LTC difficulty really begins to soar over the next couple months. I think that you will struggle to ROI on this. Yes the hardware resale might ultimately push it into profitability but that's going to be a long road. I am not saying they won't do a great job with managing this as they do a great job with all their GBs but it just might not make financial sense.

Wow... didn't know it COULD be closed

Wow seriously? That's awesome news!!!

Delivered easily no hassles. Not sure why you are attacking him.

Great to hear bob. Hoping it stays smooth for a while

You still have to buy the miner

We are paying a fairly large amount per machine for the hosting, so I am kind of disapointed we have missed so much hash time so far. Where do they stand? What is the timeline? I am glad bob hired more people since it is obvious he's getting overwhelmed but that isn't going to help us right now. We haven't had all 4 machines online for any real length of time since they were racked.

Payment sent for last one Sushi!

I guess the thing is guys that building a 6 GPU litecoin rig with 280s costs something like $2600. That's ~4500 hash rate. Assume $5/day for power which is pretty accurate. That's $150/month for power. Cooling is a $10 box fan I get that there is overhead because of hosting fees, and I get that you want to make a profit. But your rig cost is almost double what I would expect. That's where I'm struggling.

Look in the Group Buy section... there is one going on right now
|
|
|
I guess what I am wondering is do people evaluate all the markets and trade for instance the top 10 markets by activity. I made serveral mistakes where i got into lower volume markets and at the amount of BTC I was spending I was almost overwhelming things

Yeah I don't need exact pairs but just some thoughts... right now I am getting killed overall. Is it because of the Cryptsy servers? Very well might be. But I would like to know that

Hah, well I am #8 on the list so I am hopeful The description was posted before, that at least the first 60 units will shipped about 11-12 december. So tommorow the first 60 units should got a tracking number Yeah I know, I am just hoping that as #8 I got in on the even earlier shipping so it might get here before the weekend.

Yeah, guys I love you but the economics on this are way off unless LTC goes through the roof. Going to have to pass on this one.

I probably would but I still need to know about the actual miner designs/costs.
