21  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: April 26, 2014, 03:29:30 AM
hey guys...was wondering if anyone could help me out here:

let's say I have $3000 USD in my account and I want to trade on margin

If I want to open up a short position lets say 10 BTC @ 455

But I want to set a stop loss at 475, but I also want to take profit at 400. And then I also want to use these proceeds to open a long position of 12 BTC @ 400.

What is the proper trade I need to input?

1. Margin sell 10 BTC @ 455
2. Stop buy 10 BTC @ 475?
3. Limit buy 10 BTC @ 400?

And then what about creating a long position of 12 BTC @ 400 after taking profit at 400?

Thanks
I'm no expert, so maybe someone can correct me.
Edited:
I believe you need to open your 10btc short first (that's a margin sell 10btc).  Create a 22 BTC limit Buy at $400, and separate Stop buy at $475 for 10 BTC.

Ive been reading this thread occasionally, i am not an investor.   but i havent seen any discussion of this blog post from 4 days ago:

Code:
Testing Results Of BE200.md
We've got the results of one good testing board,it seems not very good, but sill can be accepted. We will receive more chips at next weekend if things are going well .

Results:

Board:one chip testing board
Frequency:360Mhz
Volt:0.72V
Hashrate per chip:11.52Ghash
Power consumption:6.375W per chip
Power consumption per Ghash:6.375/11.52=0.5539W/Ghash
After power supply changeover:0.5539/81% = 0.684W/Ghash(at blade)
Power consumption on wall:0.684/0.8 = 0.855W/G
Adding other components loss about 1KW/Thash
Tips:this result is not very accurate just for reference.

Once I order a hosted blade how long before I see it online and does it come with any kind of portal in order to control pools and other things? If not when will such things be implemented?
There is a UI.
They are currently upgrading to the blades, shipping them out, etc.
I would say less than 24hrs to see your blade online.

it's more than that, I placed my order 4 days ago, not a peep yet
Was this one of the items that said, "Unit will be online after 4/15"?  They just got a shipment of blades.  The hosted blades I believe weren't scheduled to be in until the 15th.  Do you have a link to your item from your order history?

I ordered one where it said "4/11", now it says "4/18". I guess no double promo then...

Edit: sorry, "4/16" is now the date: http://www.gawminers.com/5200-kh-s-gridseed-asic-blade-miner/. But that would be for new orders, right? What about orders placed a week ago?
http://www.gawminers.com/promotions/
Quote: "* Promotion applies to all miner purchases placed between 3/1/14 - 4/15/14 (shipped or hosted by us)."
So I'm sure they'll cover you since you placed you order before the promo deadline.

trilogy I know the theory but the guy may already have the script done somewhere. just run it and profit.
That would be easier. But I believe someone (may you I don't know), has been asking for an update sheet for a while, pages back, and I haven't seen it posted.

this dude should be tagged as scammer long time ago

For sure. Maybe he didn't start with this goal, but unfortunately things did not pan out well.
Can't believe this. Why would he refund orders for miners that were to be shipped, but not payout coins or refund the hosted miners?  Still nobody with hosted miners has gotten payouts or refunds?

If the theory was "he was mining to pay you back", wouldn't he at least have some BTC to start paying back?
30  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: UI Updates... on: April 14, 2014, 07:29:57 PM
I pushed out some Beta UI updates today. There are a few new features, and it is entirely rebuilt with AJAX.
  • Backup pools are now supported
  • One button to automatically attempt to fix down units (in the near future it will move you to another block if it can't fix it with a restart
  • We have some really nice, and fast, reporting rolled out on a few of the ten packs. I'm hoping to get that rolled out the rest of the way today

We have some automated email alerts also, they are a little chatty and sometimes give some false alerts. If you want the alerts in their current state, let me know via email and I'll turn them on for you.

Keep in mind this is just the beginning, it is a very early Beta and there is a lot more to come. I look forward to hearing your suggestions and feedback.

-Jeff, GAW Miners
jeff@gawminers.com
UI updates look great.  Back up pool option is nice.

If you aren't already planning to implement it, may we ask for more than 2 pool options in the UI? DDOSing, server failures, etc., can be pretty common with mining pools.  I'm thinking at least 5 (or unlimited) number of backup pools.  (Most pools have more than one server.  If we have 2 choices and their both on our favorite pool, and the entire pool is down, we don't have a true "backup" pool, with only 2 slots.)

Thanks.

It's already the 14th which means tomorrow it's the 15th  Wink

Double the hash
(Edit) moved date to April the 15th
On April 15th, we will be running a one of a kind promotion Smiley

GAW Miners will double the profits of any miner you have purchased from us for 7 days! The miner must already be purchased us from us and can include a shipped or our hosted product.

More details are coming so stay tuned to this thread!

Many customers are asking us to push it back while they get their blades in place. What do yo guys think?
I don't think you should push it back due to decreasing profits/increasing difficulties, and "rising" prices.  The promo has been know for about 3-4 weeks at this point.  Maybe offering a second type of promo for after the 15th.

I know GAW is busy with blades and orders etc, but please don't delay this promo. Thanks.
32  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: GAW Miners- $499.95 Gridseed Blades for existing customers! on: April 12, 2014, 07:31:15 PM
My god is my math right..

Are you telling me that just 2 1/2 weeks ago I paid 2K for a 10 pack

And they are now $1,195.95?Huh

We need some price protection..  No Damn way I have made up even 20% of this from 2 1/2 weeks of mining

This is Crazy...  And makes me a little uneasy..

I basically just threw away 2K.. (For my 20 pack)
Your best option is to upgrade to a blade, or buy a blade. Do that math on that Smiley. These options give you the same hashpower/dollar (essentially) as a new customer, so it really is super fair deal!

All existing customers looking to purchase a new blade will be able to purchase for 1399.95 today Smiley
And from front page:
Quote
"http://www.gawminers.com/5200-kh-s-gridseed-asic-blade-miner/

Buy it now as there will only be a limited quantity available! We will offer also this with our free hosting! You will be online and hashing the same day!"

When I purchased this morning, it was $1499.99 (there was no link anywhere to the $1399 price for existing customers you mentioned), and I was charged shipping, when I thought they were hosted for free at this time. Hosting wasn't an option in the cart, and there was no free shipping option (like I see now) when my order went through.

I made a ticker already, just wanted to let you know about these issues.  Ticket 2977. I'm probably not the only one it happened to. Thanks.
34  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: April 08, 2014, 11:40:32 AM
I hope it's just bad timing on Bitfinex's part, but i read about an ssl vulnerability, then i'm suddenly logged out of the bfx site (this normally never happens) and the front page looks different. The combination of those things makes me a bit nervous and i hesitate to log back in. Also on the front page i don't see a link to the announcements anymore, unless i missed it.
Check again.  https://www.bitfinex.com/pages/announcements; the link is on the bottom of the page. You were logged out so you could create a new secure session. Bitfinex sent out an email about the fix, and also suggests you change your password (which is a good practice to do regularly anyway.)  Everything is normal on the site.
35  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: GAW Miners - $174.95 with Free Hosting and Electricity! Double Payout Promo on: March 24, 2014, 11:45:57 PM
Since the move to the new thread, I just wanted to re-post my review so far.

Purchased some hosted miners on 3/18/14.  They were up and hashing within a few hours.  The hashrate has been stable and the customer support has been great.  GAW offers a lot of unique features like their hosting, CC payments, and fast technical support.

GAW is constantly adding better incentives to purchase their services: Free hosting, discounts, promos, and leading customer service.

Looking forward to being able to configure mining pools via a web portal in the near future.

GAW has truly over-delivered on their promises thus far.

Hi..  Are the hosted units down?    My 20 pack is not currently hashing any longer
...

I have 2 GPU miners here at my house going on Waffle and they seem ok..

Same here. Have other miners pointed to the same pool as GAW hosted miners, and the hosted miners have stopped.

Not too alarmed here, just wanted to verify I'm having the same issue for at least the last hour or so.
37  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: March 20, 2014, 05:42:14 PM
I still don't see why everyone is on about scrypt ASICs when the first priority is clearly to get gen3 finished and deployed, and then to be developing gen4 as quickly as possible. That's Asicminer's field of expertise, and it should stick to it while significant gains remain to be had in this field. Certainly before branching out into different kinds of ASICs, a higher priority should be getting a company website, some decent public and investor relations, etc.
Good idea about a website. How about a few of us pitch in and bid on ASICMINER.COM (https://auctions.godaddy.com/trpItemListing.aspx?miid=120115877), or another domain?  We should create a dedicated site of our own at least in the midterm.  If FC/ASICMINER wanted to take over the domain eventually, we could let them.  Google ASICMINER or "ASIC miner" and see what you get.

We could put the chip specs on the site, along with how to contact FC for purchasing.

We could show the pictures of the immersion cooling setup.

We could link to Havelock for people interested in purchasing shares.

We could show historic hashrate charts, as well as educate about moving towards pure chip distribution. http://www.asicminercharts.com/ already has a great site for this.

General links about BTC and mining. Etc.

More info about ASICMINER's history and background. Show mining address. Show history/specs of their past mining hardware: Blades, USB, Cubes.

I'm open to any other idea.

The auction ends April 23, 2014, and currently is $60USD.

We need to create our own PR for ASICMINER.
38  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: (In Stock) Gridseed USB miners - $189.95 Plus Free Hosting and Electricit on: March 20, 2014, 05:51:13 AM
Hello!

I have a question for the community, I would like your feedback. We are toying around with an idea and want to see what you think.

What if we increased our 10 pack pricing by $200. The trade off would be that we would then offer free priority shipping........and.......we would also host the miner for free, and as long as you want! You would never pay for hosting, bandwidth, and electric.

If you ever want to take it out of our hosting, we would just ship it to you free.

Also, you could sell your miner to another. You would be able to change the ownership of the account. Once the new owner takes over, he would get the same free hosting (increases your resale value), and he can also have the unit shipped to him when he is ready.

What do you guys think? Would this be something that would be kind of neat? Or a game changer?

Naturally if we did this, we would offer it for all our future products too.
Yes to free hosting and shipping for price increase. Any time you add these "free" perks it makes it more attractive.

With the price increase, it would put you on par with other sellers; however, you are offering free hosting. (Maybe add an Express shipping option. It will never be fast enough for some people though. Overnight shipping =/= overnight delivery.  A 5 day guarantee is still really good. Processing an order may take a day, shipping may take a day, and even USPS Express Mail can't guarantee 1 day delivery everywhere.)

And I can vouch that GAW will compensate anyone when they say they will, should they continue to offer such a guarantee.

Yes to being able to transfer ownership.  100% percent.
39  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: (In Stock) Gridseed USB miners - $189.95 Plus Free Hosting and Electricity! on: March 19, 2014, 06:16:58 PM
Just wanted to thank support guys @ GAW Miners, had issues with some miners in hosted ten-pack not working properly, got it completely resolved within hours, got called back to assure that the issue was resolved and they are even compensating lost hashing power.  That's what I call top-notch customer service, kudos!
Ditto. I had a small issue with my hosted miner (that was already hashing a mere hour after placing my order!), so I contacted support@gawminers.com, as directed in their hosting service welcome email.  I got a reply and a professional resolution, all within a few hours.

If anyone has questions for them, I would say contact them directly using their webpage: http://gawminers.com/contact-us/.  I think you would get better resolution there, but posting questions here is okay too.  The website is their business; this forum is just for discussion.  If you are already a customer, use support@gawminers.com.  It's hard to expect a direct reply to everything posted on this forum.

Quote from: GAW Miners
We will work with our shipping companies to we reduce the shipping price even farther. If we are able to reduce it, ANY orders placed within the next 30 days will be credited the difference in the shipping reduction.

I'm looking forward to taking deliver of my hosted miners in the near future. They have already said they will try to reduce shipping costs, and compensate anyone already paying for shipping if they do.
40  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: (In Stock) Gridseed USB miners - $189.95 Plus Free Hosting and Electricity! on: March 18, 2014, 08:35:29 PM
Ordered 10 Gridseeders today - already see the hashes in my multipool account. That's fantastic!
I can also confirm, that my order I placed only hours ago, is now hashing on the pool I designated. OP has been very responsive to all my questions, even though I'm sure they are crazy-busy over there.

$5 per month for hosting 10 miners is an awesome deal, considering electricity alone would cost that in most places.

I look forward to taking delivery of my miners sometime in the future.  I decided to take advantage of the ease of having them hosted and mining right away. (Judging by the photos on the website, http://gawminers.com, the miners looked all ready to mine.  There was no delay in getting my hashes onto my pool.)

GAW appears to be a company that runs different communication services, from ISP, to telecom, to other IT solutions.

Bare with them them as they gear up their service; I look forward to controlling my hosted miner the online portal.  GAW staff have already proved to be highly professional and knowledgeable in my short dealings with them thus far.

If anyone has any questions about the experience or needs support, let's post here and help each other.  Smiley Thanks.
