141  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: fees? on: December 08, 2017, 09:45:58 PM
What Are The Fees Involved? Is it a sort of tax that you have to pay to the coin your'e buying?

Which kind of fees are you referring to?
If you mean exchange fees, yes, they are a sort of emolument you pay to exchange's owners in order to use their service and make trades. trading fees are not only on cryptocoins exchanges, but in any kind of other broker (forex, stocks, etc.).
142  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: recovering old wallet? on: December 08, 2017, 09:40:02 PM
A guy I work with (I wish it was me lol Cry) bought btc back in early 2013.
- He has an email with an attachment (assuming wallet back up)
- He has an email with the 12 words
- He has an email with a wallet id number

I'm guessing he has to downlaod bitcoin core, and then he can open the attachment, get his btc, and be  Grin

I could be talking out of my ass though, so any thoughts on if this is the way to go about this, or not.

Thanks.

The 12 words should be a seed. Since it has id number and that attachment (maybe named "wallet.json"), it could be a blockchain.info wallet. It is easy to recover using another wallet where you can import your wallet.json file (blockchain.info old backup file).

As a side note, I'd say it is very risky to keep important infos about your Bitcoins on your email. If someone hacks your email, he could easily steal your funds...
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves Coin on: December 08, 2017, 07:41:53 AM
I have 2 questions about Waves leasing:

1. Is it risky?
2. Can I choose a random address (for example, the one of a friend of mine) as "receiver address" or I earn interests only if I choose an address which run a node? In short, in order to earn interests, can I put any address or just the ones who run nodes?

146  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Altcoins are dying !!! on: December 07, 2017, 02:50:08 PM
BTC is killin'it. Anyway, altcoins are not dying at all, there are very good altcoins out there and I'm sure the price of almost everyone of the top 100 ones will rise again before the end of this year. All the crypto-space is bulling, not only Bitcoin...
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Universal-Wallet] Coinomi (BIP44 compatible) on: December 07, 2017, 02:22:34 PM
I just used Coinomi to claim my Bitcore and Bitcoin Gold and everything went smooth!
Really easy to use, clear interface, fast and reliable. I don't know why this wallet doesn't have 5 stars on google play...
148  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Issues with etherdelta ? on: December 07, 2017, 08:54:05 AM
Crypto Kitties gone viral, it is causing masive congestion in Ethereum's network. Cheesy

https://www.cryptokitties.co/

Haha if just some stupid virtual cats made Ethereum network congested, it means it has definitely some problems.

150  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you know when you are in profit? USD or Satoshi? on: December 05, 2017, 07:03:20 AM
I am a little confused because I have always looked at the satoshi prices, but sometimes I hear people say that you should look at the dollar value if you are in profit or not. But when you trade at an exchange to BTC all the peaks and vallies are measured in BTC? Should you follow dollar value or satoshi value to know if you are in profit? Or do just have to choose one of them and stick to it? For example if I buy at 0.1 satoshi and now the chart show 0.12 satoshi I think I am in profit? But is that not always the case? I am using cointracking for example to see if I am in profit or not. If I look at BTC value of Doge I am currently in -7% on the coin, but if I switch to dollar I am +0.09%  It is very confusing..

Does it have to do with if you plan to keep your money inside crypto or take it out? If you plan to take it out I guess dollar is more important, but my plan is to stay in crypto for the long term so dollar value is not even important at that point...?

I mean if you buy a coin at 0.1 satoshi and you sell it at 0.2 satochi you have sold in "profit" even if btc would have sunken 90%?

This is a very good thread. I think it's crucial to pick a 'reference currency' otherwise you will never know if you are gaining or losing, as you already pointed out. Choosing the right currency to be a reference is not so easy though. Consider dollars and other fiat currency are inflationary, so their value decrease as time goes by. Yet Bitcoin is very volatile, so it's difficult to choose BTC as a reference currency as well.
151  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bittrex is better? on: December 05, 2017, 07:00:07 AM
Been on poloniex for 6mos.. but someone told me that Bittrex is better
I am thinking if I transfer my funds to Bittrex ..

I suggest you to use decentralized exchanges to have full control of your funds.
What's the problem with centralized exchanges like poloniex or bittrex? They may be hacked, they could disappear with your funds, they can froze your account or even ban you. Also, they can require weird verification methods like selfies and videochats. I strongly suggest you to get rid of this scum and start learning to use decentralized exchanges. Good choices could be Etherdelta and Waves DeX.
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 02, 2017, 03:54:08 PM
hi, does anyone know if byteball will be doing more airdrops?
As far as I know  next airdrop will be on Januar 2018(missed December airdrop)

Edit: seems next airdrop date changed to March 2018.

Why is March 2018? Too long time to wait.
Why is March 2018? Cancel all future airdrops.  They are not working.  Do something else.

16 BTC to receive 0.1 GB, it's like they are canceled...

That is so small amount of GB

Who is that person who has 16 BTC and lose his time to receive just 20$?
153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to convert GRF token into BTC? on: December 02, 2017, 07:57:55 AM
I just wanted to know is there any way available to convert my GRF tokens into bitcoins.I got the GRF tokens as the payment of my signature campaign. The bitcoin price keeps increasing everyday so I want to convert my tokens into bitcoins.please help me guys.

What is 'GRF'? Never heard of this token before...anyway a good method is to go here on coinmarketcap: https://coinmarketcap.com/
Than search for the currency or token you have, click on it and then click on 'markets'. This way you'll find a list of exchanges which accept this token. But keep in mind that if it's a new token it may be not accepted on exchanges yet.

156  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do Bitcoin will reach $15,000 before 2017 ends? on: November 30, 2017, 09:07:23 PM
Last 3rd quarter of the year experts predicted Bitcoin will surpass $10,000 before the year ends but today before first day of December it has already reached the prediction.

Now, is it possible for Bitcoin to surpass another mile of $15,000 in just a single month?

What do you think?

It is very unlikely that Bitcoin will reach 15k before the end of this year, since many people, as soon as the price hit 10k started to sell. So I think in the next few months there will be no growth and maybe a little dump. But now Bitcoin has gained popularity, money will keep on flow into cryptocurrency market, so I am confident next year price will hit 15k and maybe even 20k!

I have no regular job so I am putting all my faith in cryptocoins. I think and I'm pretty confident cryptocoins will be enough to make a decent living.
160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Korea's Prime Minister Is Worried Bitcoin Is Corrupting Kids on: November 28, 2017, 10:18:06 AM
He said Bitcoin can lead kids to get involved in pyramid schemes and drug trafficking! Maybe he's very naive to think that. He seems to not understand that even with the 'old good' Won people can get involved in shady activities.
