okay, thought i had something else to worry about. i have always heard ram didnt matter much but since this miner is diff from most, that post got me wondering. thx (still having freezes with my r9 290, i think that setting a FIXED value for gpu clock (factory) will fix it, can anyone give an opinion on this? I have fixed BSOD forcing constant voltage and got the temp down to 86-87 with 100% fan. which i may reduce to 70% depending on the temp.. I am running a test with the other 3 cards r9 280x to see if it may be something else)

I used to mine with Ethos, now claymore seems to be available only on windows. Does anybody have any idea on how much RAM I need per card ? Most of my rigs are with 390s. The good thing about Ethos was that it was running fine with only 4Gb of RAM for a 6 card rig and not even consuming all 4.
To mine ETH you need a minimum 2 Gb RAM per card, otherwise the DAG won't load into the cards's memory so, my fifth card wont work with 8gb of ram?! sh , i did not know that...

Running claymore's miner (eth only) for 55 hours straight with 0 eth rejects. Loving this miner. i am getting rejects all the time ;( i did delete DAG 2 times already but i am still getting rejects. any1 an idea why? using following command EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -esm 1 -ewal 0xCcB701a1F4axxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.rig2 -epsw x also tried us1 adress for stratum, but no changes Use stratum - also tried us1 adress for stratum, but no changes. <- didnt see that part when i the miner was updated to allow dcr stratum that solved my dcr rejected shares.. :\ maybe try another pool?

Claymore 1.2 Beta - 194.8MH/s (Stable) Claymore 3.2 Beta - 195.6MH/s (Crash after 1 day)
maybe this is why my comp freezes up...

Hello. I recently got the r9 290 card and it doesnt seem to work to it's full potential. hashrate starts out great like 27 mh/s but it will drop to 21...after it heats up to 94c (which i read is normal for these cards). the miner will show irregular hashrate for this card only. my other r9 280x are all stable hashrates. this one will sometimes hit 23... 25... 21... 20.. should i change termal paste? change clock settings? get a big ass fan and point it at it? i have also had a bsod issue but i solved it by forcing constant voltage. thank you okay, while trying to figure this out i've noticed in gpu-z that, unlike the r9 280x cards, the gpu core clock for the R9 290 is always moving. i noticed that i get a more stable hashrate after mining a bit (it probably adapts) but it's always around 700-800ish core clock. if i set it to the default gpu core clock value (through the miner file) around 940 i believe, or maybe i can even put it a bit higher, I should see a stable and higher hashrate. this is what i'll try tomorrow but i'd love to get an opinion from someone more experinced than me before i do it. all input is welcome. thank you. The 290 is throttling due to temp, is the card in a case or open air rig? i guess your r9 290 is a reference design, they have a switch that throttles fan speed and increase the fan speed in catalyst. prepare your ears though that thing is louder than 10 280x combined LOL ok, this helped a lote. temp is now around 86. i think this may fix the freezing issue, which was the worst part. still, should i change the thermal paste? I have never done that before... so I dont want to do it unless I have to or should! would that help? should i change core settings also now that the temp is lower? maybe higher gpu clock and lower memory? can anyone give me a specific value? thank you for your help so far guys.

Anything above 80 is risky in long term - you're reducing chips life
Add 120mm vent blowing to the card and/or open your case
Its not wise to mine with more than 1 gpu in a case even with side off or case fan, the top gpu will always be hotter due to heat rising from the card below it. If you have absolutely no other option then it is a must to have the side off the case and u can point a desk fan or the likes at the gpu. Also it would be wise to play with undervolting memory/gpu clocks to help reduce those temps as stated above 94c is bad for long term gpu health I would even consider 80c too high I like to keep my gpus 70c or below but 75c should probably be acceptable. Also did you try the -tt flag it will adjust the fanspeed to try maintain target temp ie -tt 75 will adjust the fan speed to try maintain 75c on the gpu. it-s an open air rig. temp control and cc does not work as card will raise above temp secified and under the clock specified also. i am now also experiencing freezes... after a few hours like 5. the computer will freeze i asume this is due to high temp. i will try to raise fan speed to 100% this is the card https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTgfA-4gkR-AAtI2JqYStf_R9WOBog7R4tQ23zYTTT345TuOLjp8Vw-4Pk

Hey, I bought a used XFX R9 290 for mining and set it up in my rig but it gives me a bsod error and crashes the computer. the card heats up a bit (94) but i think this is normal for this card. I have searched through google for a solution and found many people seem to have this problem outside of mining. I came to the conclusion that it may be because of the powerplay function which has problems with pcie 2.0, i believe.
I think I will turn it off and i have also read this may fix it:
"I went into my motherboard bios and set the VCCSA to 1.1V. Then set my MSI Afterburner to Power Limit -5% (yes, that is MINUS 5%) and my memory clock to 1200MHz (slight downclock from 1250MHz)."
any toughts? thank you.

Good afternoon. Firstly thanks for the miner. It's great!
Secondly, I want to ask for help / clarification. I know it's probably not a good topic for that, but I see people here experienced. Question about Dekred mining. In priogram I see constant speed DCR (550MH) but the site show me jumps from 300 to 600 ... (Not onle this miner, in all that I use. T try on coinmine and suprnova.) And I am very confusing section block progress on the site. I think it should be from 0 to 100%, and I have it often passes for 100% and get 130 ... 150, and even 420% Accordingly, there is no reward for this time .... If necessary, I can show a screenshot.
Sorry for mistakes, English is not my native language.
the new version fixed that for me. install it if you havent. also, if you're not using stratum, do.

the new version boosted my hashrate and fixed the "swings" on the pool. i would advice everyone to download the new version! Once again, thx claymore!

Thank you! I will try it out.

Slower CPUs mining HODL on GPU mining rigs are usually affected in terms of performance, sou need to lower the process priority for hodlminer in order to get the regular Ethereum performance while still mine some hodlcoin...
how is this done? i noticed that even while mining on another computer on the same connection, the hashrate for eth seems to slowdown. thx

Hey, I'm getting 50h/s with an AMD Phenom II X6 1090T. is this normal?
also would an intelcore i5-4690 3.5ghz turbo 6 mb box get me more? thanks..
Well the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T is a non-AES CPU.. You may have better luck with the i5-4690 it is an AES CPU.. good! any idea how much it should make? maybe 100 or 200? since the mobo im using now isnt compatible with the intel cpu i would have to put the intel in my Ethereum rig. would it slow my ethereum hashrate? thank you for your help,

hey claymore, could you make one of these for decred and expanse? it would be cool and it should work, right? This miner works like a charm. I dont mind the fees at all since it increased my hashrate by more than 3% without counting decred! You can mine expanse and decred, check OP or readme file: ... Ethereum forks mining: EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool exp-us.dwarfpool.com:8018 -ewal 0xd69af2a796a737a103f12d2f0bcc563a13900e6f -epsw x -allcoins -1 ... Just set your address add decred parameters to this sample command line. oh! sorry didn't see it. thank you for this kickass miner
