Josh has a lot of delivery goals. As far as I am aware, he's failed them all.

We are about to see difficulty spikes that put previous spikes to shame All the best on the 60GH sales.

Heads-up - the 60k+ buy wall on cryptsy just got pwned. Going......down....... for now.... See you at the bottom, with buckets waiting to catch those dumped MEC

Sure, I would be interested in putting up some MEC bounty as well. Maybe it's time to pool some MEC for this. I think the web site may need to be scrutinized beforehand, since the video will ultimately lead them to the web site, and that is where they notice the broken links, other flaws, etc. hmm... Whatever Kimoto decides. He should be the ultimate quality control on anything Megacoin. I'm sure he is aware of the site issues, but can only do so many things at once. One of the best looking sites I've ever seen. To make a video equally impressive would be a feat. But I say that as a person with no talent to make videos. I politely propose a different opinion, my thinking is that dev should not be QA/QC at all. I wouldn't put this all on him... there is no "I" in team, and to me he obviously needs a team to succeed There is too much potential at stake to hope that one guy pulls the whole thing off by himself. I agree it is a brilliant web site, but it has some blatant flaws that need attention, not necessarily by Dr K of course. Perception is key, and a video won't fix that Indirectly a team already exists. rapta is manning the block explorer and wallet front. ethought is on top of the pool. It makes sense to do the same in other critical areas. Eh, I'm just a simple user with ideas too... following the story like everyone else.

You're not getting hardware errors 'just' for MEC are you? Wondering if your cgminer GPU parameters are correct?
|
|

That is a good idea. I think that Kimoto may want to spend a bit of time cleaning up the broken links on megacoin.co.nz and things along that line first, you know just a little polishing, before trying to go too viral. A refined website first and then a nice youtube video could really be a boost. i.m.o. of course.

Nothing wrong with that, better to be safe than leave it in an exchange and see if somebody is capable of stealing it.
Even without theft, I would lay odds that you'll see a cryptsy outage sometime soon. I think they are getting more customers (and bots) than they can handle. The trading engine is obviously overwhelmed. As an example, watch their MEC auto-sell orders get executed. You see 1 MEC sold...then 2 MEC...then 1.... (obvious auto sells). The thing is, it is currently taking cryptsy several minutes just to clear these out at a given price point. BTC-E or Gox would blast through orders like this without even blinking.
Anyways no slam against cryptsy, they just need to get to work and improve, and the sooner the better.

If they were to intentionally disable all trading I would be maybe a little worried about coin theft, but judging from the error maybe their front end has blown up or maybe a database is curled up in the fetal position. Have you noticed for the past several days, that trades execute very slowly? So slow in fact that if you see a large 'dump' order you actually have time to cancel and move out of the way Cryptsy definitely needs more horsepower, it looks like they are going through the same growing pains that Gox faced. All in my humble opinion.

Wow, Cryptsy just fell over.... (not just for MEC, but for all coins) An Internal Error Has Occurred. Error: An Internal Error Has Occurred.

I pointed 1 MH at MEC yesterday (solo) and got one of the remaining 125 MEC blocks and a 75 MEC block within about 5 hours or so. My main goal was actually to help get us past block 63005, but a 200 MEC gain is OK too The main thing is to be sure you have your rig and GPUs configured correctly. In my experience with solo mining scrypt coins, the coin doesn't matter. The only thing that has ever brought performance down for me is extremely low difficulty, just because it leads to orphans. Once the difficulty rises to something meaningful, I can basically calculate my coins per day based on difficulty swings and have no trouble consistently hitting it, again regardless of which coin we're talking about. YMMV

Any bets on how soon other coins steal Kimoto's work? I'lll guess that other devs are reading through the source right now. Oh well, that's the price you pay for being both smart and first I guess

If you have 10 (+1 you) copies of the same bot running, it seems to me that each of you may cut into each other's trades, drastically decreasing profit likelihood. Kind of like what happens when everybody runs out and buys a 2 TH asic at the same time, and points it all at the same coin.

Grab some snacks and drinks.
You can buy a ticket for the whole seat, but you're only going to need the EDGE!

Welcome back Dr. K, haven't seen you around here in a few days. Mining halted, per doctor's orders.

Oh I almost forgot to mention, sorry vtr99 for referring to you as v9t9 yesterday. For some reason, your nick name reminds me of an emulator for my very first home PC (go ahead....call sharknutzz a nerd, it's OK...) http://eswartz.github.io/emul/So if I get you confused with an emulator again in the future, this is the reason

Shifting gears back to immaturity for the next few hundred blocks, OK! I'll be on the lookout for things that may spur my immaturity level. Admittedly, it doesn't take much, but it will have to be better than "Avast hates MEC you jerks" this time around... Get some!
