I think I have heard mixed reviews, I myself have not used it. However I believe I have heard more unpleasant complaints rather than compliments, I may be mistaken though.

Thank you.
142  Other / Off-topic / Date ordering boggling on: April 04, 2013, 08:09:41 PM
wow, a month later... have you heard anything from them?

If hes from other parts of the world, it would read as April 3rd

After I worked in an environment with coworkers from 40+ countries, I learned to only put dates as 4-Apr-2013 (if the working language is English) as most other countries put it in day.month.year format as opposed to the format in the US which is month.day.year.

Day.Month.Year or Day/Month/Year makes more sense. Smallest Unit/Larger Unit/Largest Unit. I don't know of any other country that writes dates as ass backward as US. But then US does most of the things ass-backward. Some examples: zippers on jackets on the right side (as opposed to left for most of the world), switches turn on when turned up (as opposed to down for most of the world), floor on top of ground floor is second floor (as opposed to first floor for most of the world). And don't get me started on color/colour, favor/favour etc.

It's not that ass backwards. It's in the order that dates are commonly said.
Example:
3-2-2013 = "February third twenty-thirteen"
2-3-2013 != "February third twenty-thirteen"

We write it like it's said/thought.

People are starting to sell off the stock. At a lower price at least on btct.co.

Hate to be the guy that just keeps coming back but what about something like the nShield solo?

What about something that is designed to run on x86_64 hardware:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/security/axl600l/

The HP/Atalla AXL600L SSL Accelerator Card is a 33-MHz, 32-bit device that incorporates a dual voltage signal bus and meets or exceeds PCI 2.2 specifications.

Maybe not the best idea then. Just really wondering if there is some hardware already available which could speed up hashing + low power usage.

Anyone tried mining with this:
http://www-03.ibm.com/security/cryptocards/pciecc/overview.shtml

It's an IBM cryptographic co-processor. It should be able to do hashing if my understanding is correct.

I've been thinking of transferring my savings account (~$20,000) into BTC but I just don't know if that is the right move or not.

It's still a relatively new currency. Don't put more in than you're willing to lose.

0.0000002b     Perk (Cause Perky Tits are Cooler than Bill Murray)
0.000001b      microBitcoin

The three BFL-SC-Singles due to start shipping by the 18th of Feb  Grin  Dividends will be monthly  Wink

Did the BFL-SC-Singles ship?

I'm gonna venture a guess of no here.

The last I read was they said they would start shipping next week (AFAIK)  Huh

Thanks for the update.

153  Economy / Securities / Re: Decentralized Stock Market on: March 01, 2013, 03:19:07 AM
how does this relate to colored coins?

Hadn't actually heard of colored coins. It does seem similar. The more I think about it it seems like the main difference is that this system could put some necessary power into the hands of the corporation/underwriter. Additions like handing out dividends collecting votes, implementing splits etc...
The idea was more to make some other sources of income for miners in the same way that namecoin does. If a system like this is realized it could be extended to include all types of assets or proofs of assets.

The real idea is to get the trading room floor out of trading. Right now I own stock of AMD in the real world stock market. If I wanted to sell that to you I couldn't without jumping through a ton of hoops. Getting rid of those hoops should allow capital to flow to where it needs to faster.
154  Economy / Securities / Decentralized Stock Market on: February 28, 2013, 04:42:02 PM
So I was thinking about bitcoin and it's natural equivalents in the fiat currency market and I realized that stocks are going to need a rethinking to work properly. So I sketched out the basics of a stock system. This wouldn't include the actual exchange floor and services would pop up to fill that void. But it would include the mechanisms of transaction. Forewarning! I haven't worked out all the math yet. Here be me diagram what do you guys think?

Default format is now vmdk. Should work with virtual box.

From our own experience the best advice we can give is do not host your wallet on a server you do not trust.
There have been cases of hosting company admins stealing the bitcoins from the site their supposed to admin, ala trade hill.

Hello Gweedo, nice to see you helping out.

Hmm not sure how to accomplish that part.

But I am changing the default format to vmdk which should work with VirtualBox no problem.

And here she is.

She's still rough around the edges so be gentle with her. Smiley

Just threw up a new version so don't be afraid to redownload. Also let me know if a different virtual format would be better.

Not so much a hosting system a development image. I'll publish and thow up a link.

If your developing a hosting system to allow them to use your bitcoind, then I would for sure have your bitcoind behind a script that does a lot of the heavy lifting and more security checks.
