1302  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: hey i am new here on: October 03, 2017, 03:28:52 PM
i am a newbie and i don't know where to start and what to expect, they are so many posts and i am hoping to get help. i am from Africa and very few people know about bitcoins, so i will be hoping to get a lot of knowledge from everyone here willing to share.

i am hoping to start of with the basics, then learn anything and everything i can grasp on. My first encounter with bit coins was through MMM africa. i have a rough idea since i traded using bitcoins, but now i want to know how i can get some free bit coins and other investment oppportunities i could take advantage of.

thank you all in advance.
Best way is to find information on your own. After reading lots of articles, getting knowledge from terminology and market you will be able to earn some money!

1304  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is a good place to buy my first bitcoins? on: October 03, 2017, 03:07:39 PM
I have decided to begin both swing trading of bitcoins and trading some bitcoins with altcoins on a few smaller exchanges. I will have money each month from a side job to put into this, but I need a good, trusted exchange to buy my first bitcoins from. I have been looking at Gemini.com, but I do not know whether they are good, or if another would be better. I plan to link my bank account, and buy some each month, but I want to avoid having my identity stolen, or having my bank account cleaned out. I am not willing to provide my social security number to any party I do not trust completely.  Also, I am a US citizen, living in America, and using United States Dollars. Any advice on which route I should take would be greatly appreciated.
Coinbase/ lykke most people buy there cause those sides are the most popular and people recommend them on internet. Regards.

Just wondering what you guys think waves will do in Q4 and Q1 2018? Their technology seems to be promising with WavesNG, but their marketing doesnt seem to be too hot.

I keep getting mixed feelings. I am currently holding though
They always do but there is not their time, look up what's happening now... Just take it easy if you think about situation like that.
1306  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do I still own BCC? on: October 03, 2017, 02:48:30 PM
Hi,

I had a Bitcoin wallet (I use Bitcoin core) before the fork, let's say 0.5. A couple of week ago, I sold my 0.5 back to Coinbase.

Do I still own BCC? I've just opened my wallet in Bitcoin ABC but it's not showing any BCC.

Sorry if this is a dumb question Smiley
You have to find your balance from a link that you were using with those transactions, that will show you you're real BCC number.
1307  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I’M CONFUSED on: October 03, 2017, 02:41:27 PM
Hello,

Thank you for your help. I’m still not understanding something about my Bitcoin wallet address and/or Public key. Question:
If I entered my original btc-address on several different faucets then withdrew btcs;
Do I need to change my btc address each time I withdraw or Is this now my public key to continue to enter when asked for btc address?
Please know that this is a totally new thing to me. Would you mind giving me as much detail as I can process pls?
Thank you Ofir, for this platform.

It depends on you wallet. Official wallet on withdrawal sends change to new address (the pair of private/public keys). Some to your main address back.

Anyway you can always use your main address for incoming transactions
Thanks i was looking for that long time ago, and that's really good answer. It solved my problem.

1309  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to post helpful links? on: October 03, 2017, 02:32:59 PM
Hi everyone! This is my first post on Bitcointalk and I wanted to know what would be the best place to post about the helpful fun articles I write for beginners in cryptocurrency?

Maybe its more like answering peoples questions instead? Looking forward to contributing to the community!
Begginers discution is the best place. Just go to the right question and help people. You can find lots of "newbies" posts and there you can help.
1310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: right time to buy alts on: October 03, 2017, 02:23:15 PM
now, many altcoins are committed to its local bottom (waves. xel. kore. nxc...) , and then stabiliziruemost and calm down bitcoin, altcoins will give profit
Same thinking, altcoins could give some profit in future. Lots of people are writing same propostitions at diffrent tasks right now.

About bounty:
It looks like it is time to open scam accusation and do the things official.

No payments for bounty. No answers.

DT members in official way should to red tag responsible persons and situation will be clear.

I also found something like that about project:

Quote
Why is this project scam?

Monkey Capital was an ICO scam. If you participated you will never see your money again.

How did the scam happen?
Creators of Monkey Capital bought Coveal shitcoin at very cheap price
Announced that each COEVAL token entitles the holder to 10,000 MNY during the ICO.
People started buying Coveal shitcoin and pumped the price to $1400.
Monkey Capital sells/dumps their Coveal tokens
Price of Coveal falls to below $100
After the ICO ended the official website https://www.monkey.capital/ redirects automatically to http://www.monkey.com/ This is a classic Pump and Dump scheme. https://coinmarketcap.com/assets/coeval/
Why was it so obvious that it will be a SCAM?
One of the team members - MARCELO GARCIA-CASIL worked for Onecoin Sources:
Onecoin press release: https://www.onecoin.eu/uploads/media/default/0001/01/6182e8e803eeb4ed27e7d2e44004d68d5f9e6c6d.pdf.
Steemit post: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@supermeatboy/warning-onecoin-blockchain-developer-co-founding-monkey-capital-ico
The white paper was written very unprofessionally
The team members had a very low track of record
The whole website was a total mess
The style of their communication was to
They give away free tokens to token holders of an unknown shitcoin (COEVAL)
The list goes on, but at this pint everyone should have already closed their website and know that it was a scam.
More info about this Scam can be found in this video: https://blockchain.wtf/2017/08/series/ico-or-no/monkey-capital-mishap/

1313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO][TKR] Trackr | Smart Crypto Platform | EXCHANGES CONFIRMED | ICO LIVE! on: September 14, 2017, 03:51:11 PM
Just to clear up some (maybe obvious) things:

1. If someone remove tokens from oryginal (receiving) address - for example to exchange - he will get airdrop or not?

2. How high this airdrop can be? Let say for 2500 tokens?

1. You can buy tokens, but if you drop below 2500 tokens during the first 48 hours or before the first exchange is live then you're not eligible on that address. If you transfer these to a different address you'll still be eligible, as long as the criteria is met that before the exchange is live you have held the tokens and have not traded them.

2. This is impossible to answer: it depends on the amount of tokens available for airdrop, the total amount of contributors with 2500 or more tokens, their maximum amount of tokens, etc.

To be honest i don't understand how someone can drop below 2500 tokens/ can trade before the first exchange is live?   Roll Eyes maybe only when someone split tokens to more addresses or make deal here on Bitcointalk.  But I understood your answer. Thanks.

So how and when the amount for airdrop will be set?

Can we confirm our address now, or we have to wait for some specific moment?

It looks like they use even poor translator to describe the project.
I'm afraid that nothing good will come out of it..
Anyway i will stay here to watch.

Hi dev. I just bought an amount of EQT on coinexchange. Do I need to swap this coin?

I would like to ask about this same question plus that how we can confirm that? Is it enough to do that via email?
1318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO][TKR] Trackr | Smart Crypto Platform | ALPHA AVAILABLE | ICO LIVE NOW! on: August 29, 2017, 02:18:09 AM
Just wanted to announce that we've raised almost $150K (around 420 ETH) right now, it might pick up better in the next week or two. We're pumping as much advertisement as we can.

This situation is a big surprise for me, as I have seen some poor projects that collect a lot more. After all, I am sure that you will collect the right amount of money.
It must go on!  Cool Cool Cool Cool

Mellowads for sure is the best network, but the accept websites only with some level of views.
You can also check https://bitmedia.io/ - I used it some time ago and was quite satisfied with their service.
