Which is good. The US can't do shit to them, they're a huge company, they're extremely popular, it's a huge boost for Bitcoin. The more non-US businesses we have dealing with Bitcoins the better.

+1

Been sleeping the last ours. I read already about Webmoney accepting BTC and SatoshiDice excluding US customers. Great thing. Anything significant else?

Webmoney also exclude US customers

And... another isolation for US citizens:

BTW, bad news for Americans.

If you try to register new WM account from IP address located in the US, you'll see this message:

And actually we have the new Bitcoin exchange! https://wmeng.exchanger.ru

No. The price is stable as all poor souls locked with FIAT in MtGox try to buy BTC a get the hell out of MtGox ASAP. And Mr. Karpeles' silence just worsens this.

And no, there are not many options left. International wire is quite expensive, SEPA takes several weeks to finish. So many just buy BTC as soon as it lowers a bit. Thats what you call "stability".

Mtgox USD -> AurumXchange -> Liberty Reserve

BTC-e is in the Republic of Bulgaria

Russia.

But actually BTC-E's money is held in another country (I don't know where, maybe in some offshore).
There is unsafe to have a business totally placed in Russia, and all Russians know it.

I think buying BTC to leave mtgox is not a good idea. You may lose some fiat while you transfer BTC to another exchange.
Just use AurumXchange to instantly transfer your USD from Mtgox to Liberty Reserve (or some other payment system)

I believe they use Cloudflare and Prolexic to handle DDOS. I'm not sure how that applies to their trading engine though... it seems like they get flooded with huge numbers of .01 ask/bid adds and removes, and then the lag starts.

IP address of mtgox.com is 72.52.5.67.

Bitcoin is $101 at BTC-E right now
1032  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox Down .... this is bad !!! on: May 15, 2013, 07:14:59 PM
Seems that MT Gox is down from 5 - 10 minutes ago. Is domain registered in US ?!!

502 Bad Gateway

Is down for non-us customers too ?

Down for my country too. I'm not in US
1033  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 15, 2013, 06:47:53 PM
I don't know why everyone is hoping for a DDOS. That's only going to hurt Bitcoins reputation even more, so nobody will take it seriously anymore. It's gonna hurt Bitcoins value in the long run...

I thnik that people will have more immunity to bad news, so it's very good. More crashes, more immunity, more stability in the long run
1034  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 15, 2013, 06:29:30 PM
Are we seeing panic buying yet?

no, just panic selling
1035  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 15, 2013, 01:33:36 AM
Hmm, looks likes the panic is over.
Looks like I'll be making a loss again if I buy in now - can we have another scare please? Tongue

wait for 2 hours
1036  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 15, 2013, 12:49:48 AM

I said "for all we know" which means possible.

Sorry, I'm not a native English speaker. Thank you for explaining.
1037  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 15, 2013, 12:47:27 AM

I think we will see double digits before we hit 4 digits lol but keep praying.

But maybe we'll see 1 digit. Or zero digits
1038  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 15, 2013, 12:42:48 AM

You'd be a troll if you thought it was impossible.

Possible != already frozen.

I understand that it's possible and cashing out via Bitcoin and other exchange is a good idea. But now we need to wait for a bottom of bitcoin price
1039  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 15, 2013, 12:32:09 AM
For all we know MtGox bank account in Japan is already frozen
