1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX480 (Reference) 31+Mh, Custom Rom on: November 01, 2016, 05:08:08 PM

Anyone know why the gpu voltages are not in actual mV? Is it safe to just enter a value in mV? This is Mis rx 480 4gb btw, thanks!

You can enter mV values but they will be ignored. GPU core voltage is calculated at runtime in relative steps to its base voltage. What you will need is an offset either hardcoded into the bios using a hex editor ( complicated ) or a tool like Strixx or Watttool ( simple ) to load the core voltage offset at system startup.

I have just started using watttool to adjust voltages, in regards to the memory i should copy the timings from 1750 strap across to the 2000mhz strap and flash that?

That is right. That is what most people do. But for the ZCash mining, it is better to use the stock bios.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Practical use of Ethereum. on: October 24, 2016, 05:45:51 PM
why would it be needed? do you know how it works(polo lending)?
and... dude, it's eth... how could you trust in such platform...

The Poloniex was hacked before, it returend the funds to the user later. The Ethereum is still under development.

do you understand how poloniex lending work? why would a smart contract be needed?
the money doesnt leave your wallet, it's only a margin trade.

That is right. The lending is inside the database of the Poloniex. It is to be seen on the block chain.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX480 (Reference) 31+Mh, Custom Rom on: September 17, 2016, 06:13:18 PM
Sorry if it has been asked before, but does anyone have Custom Roms for Sapphire RX480 Nitro+ GPUs?

4 or 8gb? I found some for my 8gb card at eth forum, don't know if it'd be okay for me to repost here

29MHS 99W at GPUZ

What gpu-z reports is pretty irrelevant.
It is only what the GPU itself are pulling.

Ad atleast half that and the real powerdraw from the wall is more correct.

That is right. It is better to use a watt meter to measure the real power used by the graphics card from the wall.
5  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain is charging high fees - $0.25 for sending 1 Bitcoin transfer on: September 06, 2016, 07:39:29 AM
We were using Blockchain with our site for quite a while but this has become ridiculous - they were charging around $0.04 initially for sending 1 Bitcoin transfer but now if we paid a member $1.50 for instance (worth of Bitcoins, a minimal amount) we would see a $1.75 deduction i.e. $0.25 is in fees!

That's absolutely ridiculous, yesterday it was $0.11 and now it's $0.25 - they keep on raising the fees.

Is this normal?

This is odd, i sent 5$ few hours ago and payed 0.07$ fee. You didn't provide much information about transaction, whats tx size? Did you know that you can adjust fees when sending? Only thing you need to do is click advanced button and enter fee

The average mempool size is about 3MB. So you usually to pay higher than the recommended fees per kB.

$0.25 as a miner fee for sending $575 worth of bitcoin?  That sounds reasonable to me, unless you mean something else.  I've paid higher fees to send less bitcoin in the past using Android wallets.  What you described doesn't sound all that high.

I sent 4 bitcoin and pay only $0.08 fee. It depends on the transaction size and age of the coin. I do use my own full node.

Nothing is permanent in the world, bitfinex scam is history now, people who have faith in bitcoin will continue to invest in it and that will gradually take price to higher level in future.

Investors will forget about the Bitfinex scam or hack very soon and the will start investing in the bitcoin again.

bitcoin movement now tends to improve. there has been a modest increase significantly. bitcoin looks more stable and safer to use. some agencies have stated that bitcoin used as medium of financial payments in place.
That is a good news and more to come dude, we are living in the community where most people here will be successful once bitcoin will become the mainstream currency. Now is the time to invest to prepare the future and be part of the success of bitcoins.

I think it is good time and good price to invest in bitcoin. If every forum member buys one bitcoin, that will increase the price.

I do not think there will be panic buying or panic selling. The bitcoin is quite stable at the momement.

I agree, I don't see any indications that people should panic buy because as stated above, the bitcoins price is stable. Even if it reaches about $600 I don't see them dumping their stored bitcoins. Almost all of us now is holding bitcoins thinking that its price will pump before the year ends. I think they will start panic buying when the price reaches for about $550 and then the panic selling will be $850. That was my prediction. Sudden increase in the market price of Bitcoin will cause panic selling and vice versa. Who know's lets just wait 'till the year end on what will happen in the bitcoin price.
It would always depend on how the trend is going, if the price will rise very fast then I could say that it is not normal as it will fall back in no time, if you happen to see that kind of price you should to the right thing which is panic selling.

If the bitcoin price just rises 1% a week, there will be no big price dump as that is similar to the adoption growth.

"Experts suppose that the decision in favour of BATS Global Markets is driven by the fact that it is gaining popularity among newly launched ETFs. Besides, the exchange is known as technologically advanced. However, the main reason behind the brothers’ move may well be an attempt to change tactics and finally gain the approval of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Their previous application for a listing has been pending for as long as three years."

What do you think? China is making the second Gox thing? If so, the price may go back to 400's at any time. This is way too dangerous for anyone to get in right now. We experienced it back in 2013. I haven't forgotten that one yet.

3 years ago, Mt Gox is the largest exchange, so it can manipulate the market. Now it is impossible to do that by a single exchange.
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: PANIC BUYING !!!!!!! on: June 05, 2016, 04:14:07 PM
I do not see at this time there was panic, people are still thinking of buying now looks very high price. but probably closer to halving, I think it would be panic.

The bitcoin block reward halving is only a few weeks away. 37 days, and 17 hours to be precise. Most of the speculative buying has already happened. Anything can happen now. Either a big correction immediately after the halving (from $550 to $200?), or another spike ($550 to $1,000+?). Depends on a lot of factors, for example the interest from the Chinese buyers.

As the Bitcoin holders become more nervous (well, agitated) with the H-day getting closer (fear, uncertainty, doubt), we should expect even greater price swings overall with exuberant buying followed by capitulated selling...

And back again (to the new highs and, what's more likely, lows)
Panic buying will not happen to day even if the price is expected to rise after the halving, this is due to the current price of bitcoins that is really expensive and you cannot earn much if you don't have a good capital to invest.

But there exists a set of people that do have enough capital to invest which could become potential whales. They could buy a fuck ton now, and maybe dump after halving.

Maybe, they have already bought enough and now are just waiting for a right moment to jump off the train and cash out?

Why did the price go from around $200 to almost $600, i.e. increased 3 times in a matter of some 8-9 months?

I think as long as there are more mass adoption of the bitcoin, the price will rise again and again in the future.
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: PANIC BUYING !!!!!!! on: May 22, 2016, 08:13:28 AM
No one is panicking, someone is just creating stories about a sudden increase or a big drop in coming days to create an illusion that there is a need to panic and buy. Not sure what they are trying to accomplish by doing that.
yeah because not everyone has the same thought. they will not make a purchase at the same time when the price once dropped.
certainly any people to buy direct or wait

generally speaking it is always a bad idea to make decisions with haste, it doesn't matter what the decision is, it would mostly lead to bad things.
and when it comes to money it is better to stop making decisions based on emotions and hype, and think with time at hand.

As the old financial saying goes, if you don't learn to manage your own money, other people will find ways to manage it for you

I don't think we can see another panic buying for bitcoins, if you look at closely now, bitcoins has become a basic commodity in the community to be use in gambling and other online business, with bitcoins viewed as being precious the circulation in the market will remain normal.

There will be no panic buying of bitcoin. There are other options of good cryptocurrency which are useful and adopted in asset management.
