guys, please be carefull here... I've seen many people suggesting to run your own node, so you can send a transaction for free.... Altough, you CAN broadcast a 0-fee transaction to the network from your own node, it might be a bad idear to do so.
The only thing that will happen is that the 0-fee transaction is broadcasted, however, since it has 0-fee, chances are slim a miner will add it to a block, unless you're very lucky or if it's a high-priority transaction (altough most miners don't add 0-fee high priority transactions to their blocks either anymore... AFAIK, that's something that used to be done a long time ago, but most miners stopped doing this... correct me if i'm wrong)

Is this normal?

You are viewing the fee in dollars.Check them in btc and you will get better idea.Bitcoin prices change rapidly thats why you get different fee in dollars. My wallet shows my coins in my local currency and it keeps changing but it doesn't mean my stored coins are increasing or decreasing.Only their value change
most of people viewing bitcoin in the value of dollars,so changing the currency or checking the value in bitcoin just doesn't solve the problem either, the fee's value still remain the same although when you are viewing your bitcoin value in the dollar you can easily manage how much you spend, just like OP who wondering why the fees is rising even a little bit

The transaction fees are being set based on the number of input addresses (and number of transactions too) because these are the deciding factors for the size of a transaction.
when I used to do transactions with blockchain.info, fees are sometimes ridiculous, which is actually why I had to switch to Xapo for small, frequent transactions because they don't charge any tx fee.

$0.25 as a miner fee for sending $575 worth of bitcoin?  That sounds reasonable to me, unless you mean something else.  I've paid higher fees to send less bitcoin in the past using Android wallets.  What you described doesn't sound all that high.

I sent 4 bitcoin and pay only $0.08 fee. It depends on the transaction size and age of the coin. I do use my own full node.

can the confirmation be done by one node only? how this can do against sybil attach? i thought that there were the need of multiple node to verify the ttransaction and confirm it

If you want to use premium wallets like blockchain you have to give them good fees.Because it's only the way they earning.  Or else if cannot afford to give them fees like this then you should use a normal, nonstandard wallet where your btc isn't safe enough.

It doesn't matter that you're using your own node though. There's still a decent amount of nodes that both receive and relay low fee transactions. This policy changes a bit in 0.13.0 as the nodes will share minrelayfee information, e.g. node A won't relay transactions to Node B which node B wouldn't relay anyways (this is a waste of bandwidth).

can the confirmation be done by one node only?
No. Confirmations have nothing to do with nodes. Confirmations are related to mined blocks; nodes are used for relaying TX's and blocks.

No. Read this book: Bitcoin For Dummies.

If you want to use premium wallets like blockchain you have to give them good fees.
No. Blockchain.info is not a premium wallet; it's just a web wallet. Those should be generally avoided.

Exactly. One motivation behind Bitcoin's invention was to do away with centralized payment service providers (banks). It's weird that so many people voluntarily choose centralized payment providers and then complain about them charging fees. Why can't these people use free wallet software, which is very easy?

(Although I must admit that the fees charged by blockchain.info are still comparatively low.)

Unfortunately especially the service of blockchain.info has greatly profited from the blockchain hype spread by bankers and uninformed journalists. Now quite a few newbies are wrongly believing that blockchain.info represents Bitcoin, which is quite a disaster.

I sent a small amount of bitcoin the other day and it was charging me 0.008 (32p) fee for a 0.03(£12)  which is not bad but i changed the fee to 0.001 (4p) and it confirmed within an hour.  so if you are not in a rush to make the payment then just use software that allows you to change the fee yourself.  i would not bother paying no fee tho. i have tried a few times and it never gets confirmed.

Run your own node and send it for free...

Running your own node do's not mean you can send bitcoin for free!!! If a miner decided not to include it in a block then it aint getting sent.

You need to go to Login to your blockchain, goto the Advance Send option and enter a Transaction Fee in the text box (in your case, you can enter 0.0001 BTC). It will show a pop up screen for you to confirm. This you can do everytime you are sending bitcoins using blockchain and decide your fee accordingly.

Yeah, I also have noticed that the fees has been increased, I think it is because of bringing advancement in their wallet, In the past the fees for me for any amount of bitcoin was only 0.0001 BTC, but recently I requested a minimum amount and there I saw that fees higher than 0.0002 .

I do not know if your wallet has a lot of transactions thus making the increased transaction costs when you want to send bitcoin but in my opinion by see the current price of bitcoin, that's fee transaction is not much.

If you send the same amount using MoneyGram or Western Union you would be paying much more, so a $0.25 fee for a Bitcoin transaction is not a lot at all. I do not mind paying a little extra for my

transactions to get confirmed quickly, but when there is no urgency, I pay the minimum fee and the transactions still gets confirmed. I have had some transactions with high fees, in the days when I was

playing around with faucets... it creates dust in the account and when you want to process it, it increase the fees. You would pay the same fee for sending $10 and also for $ 1 000 000, because the

amount does not determine the size of the fee.  Wink

Op if you are that concerned about high transaction fee of bitcoin transaction and don't mind using online wallet then why don't you switch to Xapo Wallet?
They main feature is fee-less transaction system, they will basically pay all of your fees. But you give up your privacy in return.
I imagine the same goes for Coinbase Wallet they will pay for your fee as well.
But be warned, if these services find that your coins are used in 'fraudulent' way (according to their ToS it could be gambling for example) they will freeze your account.

At least it's not $1.9 for a $20 deal just like paypal charged me.
I think bitcoin fees in block chain even still low.

what is up with this misleading comments. i see another one up there from a legendary member which is so much weirder! and it was explained before!

running a full node only lets you broadcast your tx with whatever fee you like (even zero/free) but miners decide to include your tx in a block or not so in fact it doesn't matter in the end.

I am 99% sure that you can change your fee payment in the wallet and change it so it isn't sending large amounts. You can go and check it for yourself, but I am nearly certain that they already have systems set up for this so that you are able to control what you pay. Then again though that means that there would be some effort involved and you'd actually have to go and look for something, so that might be a bit of a turn-off.

I agree with this for a huge amount of 1 BTC and just getting $0.25 for fee that is very small, but i think a lot of people is feeling blockchain is increasing their charges for every transaction is mad in this time.
