These small miners would also have to upgrade their machines as their hash rate would not be enough to make enough btc. Electricity costs will eat their profits if they dont upgrade.

In all honesty you really have to think like a whale. What do whales want to do when there is increased demand in Bitcoin? They want to liquidate. The best time to turn btc into cash is when there is a huge demand in btc, because the price will always go back up.
After the halving my prediction is that whales will want to accumulate more bitcoin and one way for them to do this is by dropping the price after the halving. What does dropping the price do? It enables them to accumulate even more bitcoin. After the halving, the whales are going to try and shake off the small miners. They will do this by making sure the price does not reach 2X in the short term. My opinion is that they will drop the price in the 4500-6500 range after the halving. By doing this, all the small miners MUST cash out to cover electricity costs.

Staking is getting an interest or percentage for the number of coins you store in your crypto wallet. You have a stake in the company/coin. Mining is using computing power to help solve blocks/calculations in the blockchain using a gpu/cpu. How often does one get rewarded for storing coins in their crypto wallet? |

Mark my words. Monero will be at a 100 billion marketcap by the end of the year. With so many upcoming updates to the coin and on top of that ledger and IOS wallet. If everything pans out and there isnt a crypto meltdown. It is just a matter of time that bulletsproofs, kovri etc. will come. This is the best coin for real life use and WILL BE BACK TO THE TOP 10 if not, higher. Everyone is trying to make a quick buck from all these pump and dumps but when the dust settles only the strong, solid coins survive.
Prediction: 100 billion marketcap by end of 2018.

I downloaded new wallet 4.0.0.4 for windows. I extracted all files. Now when I try to open it says something like "Error can't find libwinpthread-1.dll. Reinstalling may help fix this". Reinstalled. and same thing. please help. kind of frustrating.
I am currently using 4.0.0.3 wallet. is the new update needed to sync to block after february 2018?

I covered the fees, i noted that the numbers would turn red if i didnt have enough to cover but turned black when it was enough to cover. It sent successfully but still nothing. So there isnt a working wallet to store xvg? The mac version also doesn't work. Where can i put my tx ID to see whats goin on? Windows and Mac wallets don’t work. I sent 10 xvg from my wallet to bittrex as a test this morning and nothing arrived on bittrex. I have never experienced this with any other wallet. Did I do anything wrong? I am sending from an electrum windows wallet. Btw wallet connects and disconnects often. Any way around this?
