Nxt with color coins feature

Nxt looks really promising, some great features on the way.
782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Nxt] What advanced feature to add in the first place? on: October 19, 2013, 03:01:22 PM
The other features will be implemented later.

Awesome!  Smiley

This is starting to look really promising, I might invest some more.  You only asked for small amounts, but are slightly larger amounts welcome too such as 1-2BTC?

The main issue I see is distributing the coins to enough people.
784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Nxt] What advanced feature to add in the first place? on: October 19, 2013, 02:11:25 PM
I voted for colored coins but I'd be intrigued to know more about the potential voting system.  I also don't understand the two phase payment option.   Exciting to see you are so ambitious about this!
785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: October 17, 2013, 09:12:11 PM
How is the coding project coming along?  Have we submitted a timeline to RS?

I'd like to know how the coding is going too.  From what I gather DVC is staying on MCXnow for now due to the NMC bug meaning the RS doesn't want to add NMC anymore to replace DVC until NMC is fixed, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Anyone know how long until round 28 is paid out?
786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's wrong with LTC? on: October 17, 2013, 06:54:50 PM
It has no distinguishing features.

I've emailed some of the main tech blogs about Primecoin, maybe someone will cover it Smiley

It seems that whenever I paste in the recipient ID it puts commas in and changes the number so I can't send the nxt to 'my' account.  I can see the transaction as an 'unconfirmed transation' from my account but they are sent to a different account.  it wont let me paste in my ID without it changing the numbers.

How as anyone been able to do this if the arrow on the top right isn't clickable?

I logged with empty secret phrase. Copied id in left corner. Logged with "1" and sent 10000 to "my" id. Now when I log with the empty phrase I see some coins and can click the arrow.

Ahhhh I see, I just tried logging in with the secret phrase as "1" and suddenly there's a balance.  In the instructions it said "for example, 1" so I thought it could be anything.  Will try sending coins now.
790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: October 17, 2013, 01:51:31 PM
Ok thanks, for the help.  So if I login with the secret phrase I used in the message to send the coins there should be coins in my balance?  Because I don't see any when I do that either, sorry its probably me doing something wrong.

I don't know how we'll get our coins. But right now ur secret phrase shouldn't work.

The secret phrase does work. And you can send yourself nxt from any of the funded accounts to your own (limited to 10,000 at a time).
I don't think the funds you send yourself will still be there at launch though, as this is just a test / development server.

Once NXT launches (correct me if I'm wrong) you'll get your account funded according to your BTC investment.

So the secret phrase works but you can also log in with any random phrase?  What does the secret phrase 'work for' if the btc we sent with it as a message don't appear in our account as Nxt until launch?

How as anyone been able to do this if the arrow on the top right isn't clickable?

:s

Trying to understand! (sorry if I'm being stupid)

UPDATE

Added transaction handling.  At http://88.198.210.245:7875/ you can see how it's implemented in the interface.

How to send money
1]  Go to http://88.198.210.245:7875/
2]  Click the orange lock to unlock an account
3]  Enter any digit into SECRET PHRASE field, for example "1" (the genesis block contains only 10 addresses with 100 mil coins on each)
4]  Click the purple arrow in the top right corner
5]  Fill the form, amount must be not greater than 10,000 and fee not greater than 100 (limited for testing)
6]  Deadline (in hours) can be less than 1, enter 0.1 to set it to 6 minutes
7]  See the balance adjusted and the transaction appearing in the unconfirmed transactions list

791  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: October 17, 2013, 01:34:43 PM
For me the arrow in the top right is grey and not clickable, this is in Safari and Firefox.  Not sure how to proceed.

It's non-clickable coz u have no coins on the balance.

6]  Deadline (in hours) can be less than 1, enter 0.1 to set it to 6 minutes
7]  See the balance adjusted and the transaction appearing in the unconfirmed transactions list

If a transaction is not included into a block (it's not because mining is in development yet) then after the deadline is reached it will be removed.  We tested that transactions are correctly propagated over the network (sent some from one peer and watched them appearing on another).

Now I'm working on the most interesting part -- the mining.  Stay tuned.

For me the arrow in the top right is grey and not clickable, this is in Safari and Firefox.  Not sure how to proceed.
793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: October 17, 2013, 01:06:53 PM
Nxt is being developed with payment privacy in mind.  I have not revealed details yet, but I can say that there is a special account in Nxt (recipient #0), later it will be used for advanced features (mixing, escrow, etc.)

Did I send my amount correctly?  I can log in now so I'm guessing that I did.  So by having this stake now does that mean I'll start receiving nxt?  There's no 'account balance' yet that I can see... I'm guessing that's on the way?

Edit:  Not so sure now that I am 'logging in' after all as when i click the lock and type in anything it lets me 'log in' (it unlocks).  I'm a bit confused, but I'm guessing the rest is still being developed.

Ok I just sent 0.2985 BTC.  Hope I did it right! Smiley

i agree... we need GPU miner to push difficult on higher level. But nobody work at GPU miner  now Sad mtrlt didnt posting for month.

I will pitch a 500XPM Bounty for a working GPU miner for Primecoin.  You can quote me saying it anywhere you like and I will keep my word no matter what XPM is priced at up delivery of working GPU Miner.
I dont even care if it does not outperform cpu by much as long as it works and solves blocks.

Lets all pull some funds for a proper bounty and generate interest in this project. I feel it is better then blindly donating as I personally never like to pay for unfinished projects. This bounty could possibly stimulate more then one dev to attempt this and will be more of a lottery Smiley

Social Media team feel free to use my 500xpm pledge if you want to run with it and contact me if needed through PM

Cheers

You might want to start a new thread about this Primecoin GPU development bounty and post about it on the Primecoin forums, it should get more interest.
796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The End of Alt Coins on: October 16, 2013, 07:15:14 AM
Of course this isn't the end of alt coins, they usually go down when bitcoin goes up, this time bitcoin has gone up a lot so they've gone down a lot.  Once bitcoin settles they'll shoot back up again.
797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin(DVC) Source Code Updated to Bitcoin 0.8.x on: October 15, 2013, 05:38:45 PM
How is this going, is anyone working on it at the moment?

Hi Guys,

Heres an update:

I have had a few responses of interested developers, including myself if no one decided to want to do it. The developer that updated I0Coin to its current state told me he would do it which is great because he was my first choice. I0Coin was updated to the latest code base and it will almost be an identical job to do devcoin. Only thing that would need to be added is the reciever stuff and then small details regarding the 1000x coin numbers over btc.

I will try to find as much material that would be helpful as possible for rsnel, I'm just waiting for him to confirm and then he can start. For example, Unthinkingbit created a nice writeup on the technical side of the work that was done to evolve btc to devcoin which is great. rsnel already can start from I0Coin and apply these changes and hes done. However, I'm sure there have been things added that are not talked about in that wiki: http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin. So he will have to do the diff from old btc source to current devcoin to find out the exact changes and apply the relevant ones to I0Coin. It can get tricky but I think if anyone can do it in a timely manor he can.

On the other side, I haven't been able to get through to RS, I tried to ask him on chat no response and sent an email with no response yet. I will continue to try to get a hold of him and if rsnel agrees to start then I will have some new information that he might like to hear and change his mind about the delisting.

Thanks,
Jag

Great, thanks sidhujag!
