I have my tracking number you sent me via email but it doesnt appear valid.  when i enter it into DHL's site it says "No result found for your query. Please try again."  please update me with some info.  I've missed out on 5 days of mining now.

Please, I don't have a tracking number. Please give me a number so I can check on DHL even if it is invalid.

Here you go: 1693014017, Now you can check as much as you want. I can conjure up more numbers if you like?

Got my two s2's today. Both where fucked up inside, Cards everywhere, bent pci slots. Plastic thingy holding the cards had about 50% survival rate.
After assembling them back together one did not start and one worked at 650Ghs. After some hours of trying different things I got two new PSU's, XFX Black Edition 1250W and RECOM 1600W(Overkill but had it laying around) One are stable at 1Ths the other is working at 920ghs with row 10 showing only lines.

I feel the s2 is a step down from s1 when it comes to build quality and overall design.
Next time pack each cards individually with bubblewrap and stick them inside the miner. Shipping the miner with the cards already in their slot is borderline retarded.
I had the same and found that the card that wasn't registering was missing one of the tiny resistors ("0") closest to the pci connection on the board. I replaced the resistor with some pencil and some silver conductive paint and it's working fine for a week now.

Thank you for that, will try it out. Smiley You got picture so I can see? I got no education in electronics so this wil be "monkey see, monkey do"
All I have is this:
https://i.imgur.com/2Zt1Yen.jpg

It just shows which resistor it was, it's slightly blurry. I've got no education in electronics either, but I saw the corresponding resistor on another board had a "0" on it, so figured it wasn't providing much resistance and just shorted it and it worked. It would have been RMA anyway, so I figured I'd give it a go.

Be careful though, I can't take any responsibility if something goes horribly wrong...  Wink

Thanks.  Of course not, my own risk Wink
I think conductive silver paint is going to be hard to find here, I will try something like this  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egMr9kk1uHk

mine arrived fine, and had rubber strips in the lid designed to keep the cards tight in the slots. The damaged units must be going through some rough handling - maybe a 'this side up' is necessary?

Both had rubber strips under the lid, the idea is good but it did not hold.

Hey,

I do not understand the discussion in here. Very soon, ASICs are history and replaced with GPUs and FPGAs. So where is the big deal ?

Conan

What on earth are you talking about?

About that GPUs and FPGA are faster then ASICs, they do not tell you so you can buy the ASICs like sheeps on the way to be slaughted.
Pure shovelselling.

Conan

I think his English is not the best and he implies that a gpu and fpga is a better buy.
We all know a gpu is not faster at sha256 compared to an asic, but with the way btc diff progresses I wouldn't buy into any of these sha miner pre orders, even the bitmain is too darn expensive based on mining profitability.

Let me write this slowly because I know that you cannot read fast.

HAHA, You are funny.

My batch 2 has left Shenzhen.
29  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 12, 2014, 02:28:15 PM
Just remember that secrets work both ways: how would you like it if someone said it was an 'open secret' that you're using asicminer chips? I think you owe the KNC people an apology.
We're developing our own ASICs. We're transparent from the get go.
Unlike KNC:
 - We don't publish "Q1/Q2" shipping dates.
 - We don't mine and compete with our customers.
 - KNC knows they won't be able to ship on Q2. This is why they came up with 'Plan B'
- Guess when they'll finally offer the hosting alternative. Probably the last day of Q2
From here: https://www.kncminer.com/news/news-82

...
The first customers (batch 1) are expected to be hashing in our data center in early June and the last customer will hash in our data center around the last week of June. All the customers will be able to hash in that data center for as long as we are late in shipping your Neptune product, this service will be provided on a best effort basis
...

KNC can provide the entire hash-rate to their customers right now. They've chosen not to do so and directly compete with their customers.
This kind of business practice we're committed to root out. We have long catch up to do, but we are determined to turn the below into useless pile of junks (i.e. obsolete and below electrically break-even) by delivering on-time much more power efficient hardware.

What is this...?...Could you elaborate...?

KNCminer's own mining farm in sweden.

no

All orders should be shipped now right?

Yes, I have my tracking number for batch 2.

Anyone received a btc refund?
There are no BTC refunds ... you get the USD's back you paid (or exchanged your BTC's for on the fly)

I got BTC refund for all the orders I paid in BTC.

was this recently?

Around a month ago.

Wish I had one to help, but with guys like atadro buying 6 there weren't many to go around.  Being first has its drawbacks, good luck guys, I hope you get it figured out.

You can say that again.  Both of my 2 units are totally fubar'd.  Unit 1 had the Raspberry Pi board popped out of the bus, and several cards were out of their slots, but even after re-seating it (and checking all connections), I can't get any connection to the unit.  The LCD display lights up but there is nothing displayed, and the green light on the LCD never comes on.  The ethernet port seems connected to the switch (switch shows active connection), but 192.168.1.99 cannot be accessed at all via SSH or http or even ping.  Dead for all intents and purposes as far as I can tell.

Unit 2 was a great example of total lack of QC (or else the unit was put in a washing machine and run through the "shake it up and spin" cycle).  Check out the pics below.  I haven't even tried to repair, as the bus connections are so bad (and many are loose) that it is impossible to seat all the boards and even if I could seat them, they would be under great strain.  I can't believe they shipped something like this and I can't believe that shipping damage would be to blame for this one.

It could be shipping damage, except that the boxes arrived in perfect condition, not a scratch or ding to indicate rough handling.

I guess I will find out soon enough whether bitmaintech stands behind its products or not.

That is fucked up, hope it works out.

I don't get why a lot of people are complaining about the ethernet port placement.  If you're going to rackmount it, isn't it easier to have ethernet in front just like many rackmount switches are setup?

Spondoolies-tech also has their ethernet port up front for their rackmount miners.

Because sending a bank wire is a huge pain in the ass vs sending Bitcoins is probably the reason they are refunding in Bitcoins.  There are also fees involved in sending wires.  The one thing that makes sense is to send a refund in Bitcoin.  Not sure what the big deal is.  They may have used the money they originally had.  They do mine there with their existing hardware from what I understand, so they probably have some coins in a pool that they can distribute but it's probably not a lot.  And then they have people still paying for new orders from time to time.

Not that much of a mystery really.  Anyway, I could care less, I just want to see my miner ship by May 1st.  If it does not, I want to see added compensation or I'll request a refund as well.
really? im still waiting for a BTC refund so this is mostly FUD

You are using "FUD" wrong.

Ran out of shelves, had to make do.

I'm sure someone has asked, but what do you use to power the ants?  Have you a quick howto/faq describing the parts for the server PSU and cabling?

I'm currently using consumer Corsair 600W per overclocked ant and I'd like something cleaner.

I can run dedicated 20A 120v circuits, so hopefully something that works with this.

Thanks in advance

he uses Delta DPS-2000BB server PSUs. (2000W)

200v-240v only

In this picture I only have each Delta powering 4 overclocked Ants, but my normal set-up is 6 overclocked ants per PSU. (OC to 375)

are there any guides on how to set up server PSUs? I've never used one before, just the standard ATX.

You can buy the board sidehack makes, they will give you pci-e cables from a dell z750p powers supply. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=379677.0
You get board pluss pci-e cables fittet with horse shoes so you only need to screw them on.
He is going to make boards for different PSU's

I use them, they are great and super easy to work with.

Sorry for asking something that has been asked alot, But there seams to be no answer (not that I can understand)

How can the unit draw 1Kw and only have a 1Kw PSU? This will not last long!!

Can anyone explain why this is a good move in laymen terms please.

Because its the cheapest option that works. MAGIC!
