41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: September 27, 2017, 08:34:10 PM
It seams like DECRED also made the revolutionary atomic swap for the first time in history https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jw5icKcmdbA&feature=youtu.be

So who was first? And which one is more revolutionary? Smiley

Dave Collins, says, 5:43 "This is really low hanging fruit and not many people have done this so we're gong to go ahead, start the ball rolling and ya know huh, take it."

And there you have it, "not many people have done this" they where not the first, they took it.

He was talking about decentralized exchanges and atomic swaps, that exist, didn't name them clearly if at all, but he also didn't lie because BaterDex was/is already doing it and could easily be inserted into the decentralized exchange's statement but he didn't, he also didn't say that they jumped somebody else's train either, he played it down.

If this is being played as a first atomic swap then he has shot himself in the foot.

That's why I am not impressed with DICKHEAD sorry I mean DECRED or is it really NOCRED, sorry again, I get confused.

I wounder if De Cred is like De Grease, to take all the grease away, to take all the Credibility away, probably not but looks like it.

Everybody's jumping everybody else's train, it's always the same.

IMO, it is not really worth worrying about. Decred is really trying to be a better bitcoin with governance and more bells and whistles. Komodo is aiming for a different goal. I own both as I think they are both good coins for what they are trying to do.
We are working together with the DCR team to get it working with barterDEX. I think all this who did what first stuff is just distracting. We all know who did it first and nobody else is doing SPV based swaps, which is really what is required to make it easy enough for end users.

Of course still need GUI, etc, etc, but without core support for SPV dexing, it is limited to people that can install coin daemons and have the systems that can handle it, ie. small percentage.

On the windows side, thanks to mark81 making zillions of sync tests, we are finding out why windows is so slow and have made improvements. Not caught up to the other OS yet, but not off by a factor of 10 like before. It is nice to have new addition to the KMD team as there are so many different types of things that need to get done and clearly there are some things that existing people (especially me) are not good at.

So thanks to all the new contributors!

The "brown sheet" marketing was accidental, but it got a lot of people to come forward as it was clear we needed help Smiley

One point of clarification. A lot of people here just assume that we have to be just like some Fortune 500 company in all ways.... Kind of a strange assumption to have. Nothing against such big company methods, but brand new cutting edge tech is rarely from the biggest companies. They end up getting it most of the time by gobbling up the smaller ones.

However, since KMD is not a company, it cant be acquired, taken over, controlled, etc.

I will continue doing my nerdy core coding, but I am very, very glad that we now have people that can solve all the other issues.

I also own both DCR & KMD (much bigger stake in KMD though Smiley) and I think they both are great especially considering the fact that they goals are different, it's very good to hear that you guy's are working together. The main reason I asked the "who was first" question is because I think KOMODO can be much better in delivering the message. Search for "atomic swap" in youtube and you'll see what I'm talking about. Good marketing are as much important as good technology behind it, if not even more important. The main value of a technology are in number of people using it and not in a technology itself. Mass adoption = good marketing. A lot of good projects in history neglected that fact and left behind, it's like to be a starving artist, very talented in creating without any knowledge and ability in selling his creation.
We can't do nothing without the genius programmers but please don't underestimate the power of storytelling-marketing, you guys have to hire someone who will tell the best story and will tell it loud. Agree, everyone should do what he best at.

Previously I had thought I was able to demonstrate the insufficiency of MSOL but upon closer analysis I realized that my proofs were based on flawed assumptions and misinterpretations.Since coming to this realization, have taken a step back from "pushing the MLTT agenda", and now my goal is simply to play the role of a neutral 3rd party and analyze the validity of these claims

Adding this question of which logical framework to use has indeed "stalled" at least our side of the project as it's now added the goal of rigorously sorting out the differences between...

I have no idea what MLTT or MSOL is... I can only imagine the levels of ego between people with so high level of  proficiency in the field though.  If at some point you guys instead of sticking with the academic literature until your research indicates a flaw in this choice, you will try to unite again and work on it together it will make all the community extremely happy and I am sure will contribute much better to the project.

1º go to https://webchat.freenode.net/ ...
2º in the nick name put any nickname
3º in chanelss, put ##idni
4º connect...

Thanks friend but that's not the problem, I already have my nick and enter the channel ## idni. The problem is that I do not find the thread of what has happened all this time in that channel. Is it all in real time and deleted? Is there a thread to see? Sorry for being such a beginner. But beyond that it is clear that it is not a web site that is suitable for everyone to see easily what is being done. Although your good reason will have Ohad! Thank you.

Yes, I had that feeling as well. IRC is for devs. I also couldn't find the history of chat so just left it open for a day. They speak "chinese" there man Smiley so If the rest of the thread is same, we won't understand clearly what is going on anyways... But at least it gives sence of progress. We need to wait for white paper and official announcements.

The new cliff high webbot report put agoras in the firts place of shitcoins, i dont know why .... i hope ohad can show his job and Shut up many mouths. This report is folowed by many people , i think agoras fall in price this days  Undecided

Some people can take that as an opportunity to add to they stock some more agoras for that funny price.  Wink

I have a question for Ohad about IOTA project https://iota.org/ . They claim to be a whole new blockchain technology optimized for the Internet-of-Things. New distributed ledger (the Tangle), free transactions, data transfer layer, new way of reaching consensus. I am not that sure about the tech behind it and how Tau can be used in Internet of Things?

Internet of Things is as hut and fancy as AI now days, if there is any connection between Internet of Things and Tau it can also be a good move in marketing of Tau

I had a similar issue with a small transaction over a month ago. Still now word from support. They do have an issue with lots of traffic so I suggest patience. It ll get resolved.

Over a month and still you didn't get your tokens?! Not cool  Sad my transaction  is 50 fct

You can send your AGRS to this bitcoin address created on omniwallet.  You will see your AGRS under this bitcoin address after you receive them. Try small amount first to see how it works.  You can track your transactoin here: http://omnichest.info

Hi, thanks for your replu , i do have downloaded and installed an omniwallet. Of course there is not  any coin in this new omniwallet. Bitcoin and agrs are all zero. Then i send my AGRS from bittrex to a bitcoin address created on the new omniwallet. The omniwallet just shows me some bitcoins not agrs in it. Seems that the agrs i sent has beem auto changed to bitcoins.

Did i do sth wrong?

AGRS should be shown as an asset under bitcoin address. Don't worry about some bitcoins that you see on the bitcoin address itself, you need some satoshies on that address to make the transactions.  Look for assets, there should be some options in the wallet to switch to wallet overview or something. I am not familiar with the standalone wallet so maybe someone else could tell.
Also let some time for the transaction to go trough, check the confirmations on omniexplorer.info

I have bought some tokens on Bittrex. Anyone knows to which wallet should I redeem them? Thanks.

1.Open wallet here: https://www.omniwallet.org/

2.Create new bitcoin address

3.Send your coins to this address

Agoras are tokens on Omni layer. Omny layer is a layer on top of bitcoin, you store Agoras on regular bitcoin addresses created on omniwallet
Hi, Could you tell me  why when I withdraw the AGRS from bittrex.com into my omniwallet, it shows me the bitcoin, not AGRS.  Why?
Thanks a lot.
