Rather you play with crypto for awhile before jumping into mining. It's not an easy task and you have to mine if for several months to a year to yield ROI positive+.

I'm sorry, maybe I don't read enough about crypto--what is an airdrop coin?
It actually means that once the coin is dropped on Bitcointalk, money is being generated out of air. ~CfA~ Not trying to be dense: Is that what it really means? I will say that I see a lot of coins for which that's exactly the case. i was joking Check out Auroracoin for instance - a classic example of Airdrop. ~CfA~ Auroracoin is a classic example of why an airdrop won't work. There have been plans of air dropping even small amounts of bitcoins (in Dominica) to increase bitcoin adoption. Yes, it's a pity Auroracoin's airdrop didn't work. They were the pioneers (not mentioning also pioneering premined iirc). Have always wondered if it might worked if the airdrop was given to selected few icelanders first (priority holders) before giving out to the masses. Another interesting concept was to claim it through their national registry, how did they do that without people claiming for others?

I was very lucky I come across this thread!
I will spread this when I have the chance. Airdrops are seldom happening and they mean free token with effortless cost. They should not be wasted as lost opportunities.
Thanks for this!
It depends on "effortless". Airdrops are usually for small timers (me included, and no offence guys) because whales are not interested to link their 10,000 bitcoins to the airdrop clients just to claim coins that return < 1% monthly. Especially putting their coins on online exchange to validate the claims. To be fair some airdrops are running well and I join them, so I don't want to stereotype.

The DeepOnion "airdrop" is a signature campaign in disguise. You need to have the signature to claim the "airdrop". Also 90% pre-mined.
Yes, it's not an airdrop. It's a signature campaign. Someone should tell them that (again).

Does it work? I've read feedbacks that Poloniex (and maybe even Kraken) didn't recognize the airdrop so people ended up not getting any. I'd like to try it if it works.

Hi guys,
Any widgets to recommend?
I know we can also check on browser or fire up the apps but I like the fact that I can slide into the widgets section to check price change. Currently I am using coinbase but it only has ether and bitcoin.

Just get a light client or mobile app rather than waiting for the whole blockchain to sync. It's pointless with ETH. You'll never need the whole thing, right?
Fair enough, but how do I then "extract" the ethers that I have send to the address that is generated by the full client wallet?

Maybe it will be like ETH/ETC? So the value might rise despite the break.

Yea, bitcoin fees have risen quite a bit for the past two months. But it has actually dropped back to normality somewhat since a week ago. If you try to send 25satoshis/byte it will go through pretty fast, maybe 2 hours.

That's my suspicion too. Pasting my ether wallet screenshot, so it says "0 ETH" but also syncing at 4% (after 12 hours) so I am guessing that's the reason? And yes, etherscan confirmed the transaction. Thanks guys for all the tip.

Have just newly setup my ethereum wallet client and sent some Ethers to the my new etherbase account. However it's been 2 hours now and the client still shows no ether despite etherscan.io confirming the transaction.
Any advice?
Thanks

Are you aiming for convenience? Or better profits/returns? I'd personally go with Dash as of now, since I think with mining dash I can maximize my profits. Take a look at other coins too, though. Lookup on Siacoin.
I've heard good things about ROI of Dash too, but as a non miner, am interested to know your take.

If you must, choose one which.
1. Encrypted private key (you don't hold your private key in exchanges, but some exchanges have certain excryption so that they themselves can't see it, though they hold it on behalf of you)
2. Audited (means your funds are not moved, or at least the audited funds/addresses which implies that the wallet keep the funds
3. Guaranteed (in the case of hack, they can refund you)
4. Government-less (some will need KYC check, so if you are wary choose one that doesn't)

Go for 25 satoshis/byte. Or about 0.0001BTC per transaction.
You will need to wait a few hours max, one hour if you are lucky for the transaction to go through especially lately because the queue is not soo long.

AMD and NVidia created altcoins to sell GPUs. That's a good one!

Why do you think bottlecap is better? Because you are a first mover and the coin is still less than $200k? Or do you believe in the philosophy or architecture?

Please correct me if I am wrong, but isn't bitcoin unlimited issue yesterday's problem? The current possible fork is not a contention between BU and BC.

It results from a byzantine situation. I think it started as Chinese General's situation, and then to Albanian situation and finally to Byzantine situation. Just to make sure the crypto world doesn't offend anyone alive

Taobao English is where the resellers are. Taobao China is where the real sellers are.
Also, the sellers on Taobao china are mostly out of stocks these days, just checked lately.
