503  Economy / Gambling / Re: 12% loses since joining satoshidice on: January 23, 2017, 02:59:30 PM
Granted winning is not guaranteed, but have lost to 12% since joining the house early January.
I think you are talking about investing in satoshidice's bankroll, investing in gambling sites bankroll is almost like gambling with little risk of loss. Best way for you now is to remain calm and don't divest your investment. Wait for few more days/weeks to see some +ve balance and you can divest/withdraw out if you are not satisfied with them.

Yes, the bet was on Satoshidice's bankroll aka the house. It's not a big bet but it's really "interesting" that the house is actually sustaining a 12% loss after a month, though I am imaging the loss is not the total average loss but the bets that my chip is participating as the house for over a month, but still...

Perhaps you should also try to find indonesian bitcoin seller from localbitcoin.com.

Good point, thanks!

And to think that Satoshidice's house isn't even small... Satoshidice is almost double the standard among active bitcoin dice games and it's weird how they survive in this very competitive market. It's not surprise that gamblers might be cautious but it's really interesting how a dice game with 1.9% house edge has it's house of the losing end for so long. Maybe some whales got lucky?

Precisely.

When the pool is big enough the bets should be evenly distributed that the house enjoys the edge. Statistically at 1.9% edge.

Will continue to observe the performance and update everyone.

509  Economy / Speculation / Re: The China Effect on: January 20, 2017, 06:49:39 PM
I don't know why people forgetting China is leader in producing miners and equipment for miners. This way they improving network strength and directly shape future for Bitcoin in economy of Chine and the rest of the World . So next time when you point a finger to China, ask yourself does all your friend know about Bitcoin?

Good thinking

Why kill it when you can shape it
510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / LTC hypothesis on: January 20, 2017, 10:14:26 AM
Since China has a massive effect on movements (though not as crazy as some suggest but still massive enough), with the three big exchanges there firmly behind LTC after BTC, will LTC grow in 2017 as the Chinese government tightens capital flow?

Potential wise I am more supportive of ETH but market-wise pricing might grow faster for LTC?

Just 2 cents from a learner.
511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why no litecoin trading on coinbase? on: January 20, 2017, 10:11:09 AM
Maybe Coinbase is trying to avoid conflict of interest, Litecoin has proven to be a real coin though it has not sour with Bitcoin the way it used to, but there are still alot of interest and community behind it especially China

So far in my idea regarding about in coinbase it is not a type of exchange sites like as we all know this is more of buying bitcoin only and getting wallet from it. Also not all country affiliated with the coinbase, because my country is not affiliate in the coinbase.

True, my country doesn't support buying and selling on coinbase too, only transfers.
512  Economy / Speculation / Re: The China Effect on: January 20, 2017, 10:09:25 AM
I agree the Chinese Government is just enforcing some rules to make it more safe for their citizen to trade with bitcoin though I guess whales are taking advantage on this scenario.  With lots of Bitcoin in hand and having some against bitcoin news, they can easily manipulate the market by dumping part of their huge holdings and start a panic sell from the weaker hands.

You know what the real issue is with this? This Chinese news where so many people panicked over isn't anything that affects trading at all. It doesn't affect Bitcoin at all. If people took the effort to actually analyze and understand these articles, they wouldn't dump. Even after all these years people still haven't learned anything. People are as brainless as always. Especially when you consider how little effort it cost for whales to blow these articles up, but where the resulting market reaction is massive. It always works, so these whales will continue to influence the market. If people would stop dumping like brainless chickens, then these whales will have to come up with something else as it isn't working anymore.

True

Especially in a market that is filled by individual traders.

Just imagine NYSE is five folds Shanghai Exchange but their trading volume is the same. Alot of pump and dump by small timers that are affected by the news and rumour mill especially by whales. Institutional traders just sit back and reap the post-panic bargains.
513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: which online LTC wallet and exchange is trusted? on: January 20, 2017, 10:06:33 AM
Litevault for wallet, GDAX, polo, BTC-e for exchanges.

GDAX are run by the guys in coinbase, but polo and BTC-e seem to be abit opaque, no credentials of the team, though some might actually want it that way.

As suggested on topic
515  Economy / Speculation / Re: The China Effect on: January 20, 2017, 05:06:02 AM
Off course, China has effect in bitcoin price, So far as i know bitcoin has under-control to China 90%, so its mean China has trading with bitcoin more than half. So than definitely they could have control to pump and dump of bitcoin price. But reason it that if China is doing it, than that's all good for us, because when price down and up than we have a good chance to make money from it.

from where you get this source, in mining they only control 70% maybe more now, but in trading they surely control less than that and surely less than 90%

china is playing a big role in both environment but saying that they contorl the market is pretentious, actually they have lost quite a good control with the last policy of their government toward their exchange

Am with you on this. To say that China controls X% without data is not right. China will play a big role, but to attribute all this and say X% like some mainstream media is not right.

The government called for the three big exchange for talks, but so far non have been banned, but of course it's being watched closely.

I am actually interested to know that if these exchanges are banned in China, IF. What other means do Chinese netizens have to buy bitcoins?
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why no litecoin trading on coinbase? on: January 15, 2017, 05:05:37 AM
first of all people mostly use coinbase as their bitcoin wallet not an exchange place since prices aren't that good there anyways compared to other exchanges.

also as long as there is GDAX (from coinbase) they do trading there and i'd say about 20,000 USD volume in 24 hour is not nothing.

and in the end traders are on big exchanges such as poloniex,... and with the recent IRS thing with Coinbase i don't think they are so willing to do anything on coinbase.

What's the relations between GDAX and Coinbase?
517  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is your experience with OKCoin on: January 10, 2017, 07:22:35 PM
I watch their live chart and depth the most in my daytrading.. I think it is the best chart out there..

It rubs me raw that I can't use them because I'm from the USA..
Though I do hear shady stuff like placed orders not filling and unexplained margin calls from them..

Sure you can, their okcoin.com is for USD/BTC pair and accepts international customers. The Chinese equivalent is okcoin.cn
518  Economy / Service Discussion / What is your experience with OKCoin on: January 10, 2017, 04:18:43 PM
Please, for guys and girls who have used their services. How are they, and is there any problems with withdrawal?
519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Why no litecoin trading on coinbase? on: January 10, 2017, 03:38:55 PM
Given that the creator of litecoin Charles Lee is their director of engineering
520  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bringing business clients out for a night of fun on: January 10, 2017, 01:59:01 PM
Well that is called hospitality. It is also a way to know more and get to know your client in a less serious and fun way. I am no business owner but my uncle does, his business is real estate. When clients come from a long trip  he usually bring them to resort and in places where they can relax and have fun then the next day they will focus on the business. Believe me though the transaction is not a success the client will come back again to you due to your attitude and how you handle them. When you establish good relations even if you didnt close the deal sooner or later they will come back and prioritize you over other businessman.

I started my business focusing on the geekier side of things, through the years I slowly realized that somehow it is expected as clients visit from different towns.
