121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Ravencoin with AMD 570 on: October 05, 2018, 10:06:27 AM
Hey guys,

what do you think about mining Ravencoin with 8x AMD 570?
Is it worth a try? Or is ETH still the most profitable?

Thanks in advance.

I personally haven't used any AMD 500's as of yet, I'm still on my 480's.  lol  But as stated, if you truly believe in the project, then profitability isn't what you should be looking at.  If a project that you join has a good team, quality technology, and is in it for the long haul, then you shouldn't be selling your coins, but rather HODLing them.  Value occurs over time, and this is true for any valuable projects that exists whether they are a Cryptocurrency or Token.

a lot of interests from different communities, considering how many coins are on a voting list and number of votes. Don’t forget to list and vote for you favorite coin here https://txbit.io/Coin
It reminds me a bit about the sweety period of Solaris last year, when the coin surpassed $50 with unbelievable rises over one month.
I believe that the upcoming txbit.io exchange will show really significantly positive impacts on the ride of Solaris during the rest three months this year.

It seems that most coins and tokens during the months of January and February this year rose to astronomical amounts all due to the climb that Bitcoin did.  It's going to take some time to achieve these values again, but as stated with the new exchange hitting, Solaris will rise slowly again!

123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: October 05, 2018, 09:53:37 AM
Anyway, I continue to believe in Ether, despite the fact that he fell heavily.
It seems to me that such a strong project should recover.
The price is beyond our control, but the technology is the control of the team, they can improve and develop it.
We have a good price last year but we fell this year, but that does not mean we have no chance to recover, we have to think positive all the time.

This is not true. You cannot think positive, this is not a girlfriend problem.
The technology will also not solve this. Project existing depends on tech,
but project (and price) success depends on trust people have in it.
When people start trusting it again, they will start investing and HODLing.
Which will naturaly drive the price high.

To achieve that, the ETH team should be more open and listen to the public
(but not too much). So far they only speak, without listening.
Allowing ASICs to exist was the first big mistake.
Monero team gained a huge trust bonus when they cut out the ASICs.

I don't know how many ETH users are mainers, but for sure every ETH miner is
a potential ETH user and HODLer/trader.

Ethereum has many large projects behind it, and many successful Fortune 500 companies invested as well.  It is only a matter of time that the price of ETH will continue to rise to its previous highs of $1,417, and easily surpass it.  Once POS is finally implemented this will, as well, raise the price of ETH, IMHO.

124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: October 05, 2018, 09:42:23 AM
There could be a new coin if a part of the community continues mining on the legacy (before the fork) chain. The fork is going to invalidate blocks mined by equipment that is currently holding ~45% of the hashrate, I don't see this mining equipment just going to trash and miners using it just accepting to throw away their now main-chain-useless miners, so in my opinion, there is a very high chance the legacy chain will be maintained hence giving birth to a new coin.

Keep in mind that, unlike , for example, Bitcoin Cash, Sia coin has very special purpose, and for
that purpose team that would make new coin would also have to build software for storage network, too

Otherwise they'd mine coin that noone actually needs

My understanding is that the sia client version 1.3.5 will support the legacy chain, and that legacy chain users are always welcome as long as they hold siafunds. Regardless, mining a coin that no one needs wouldn't be a first, and there will always be people/bots ready to trade it as long as it's on an exchange ...

Wow, this is a very interesting predicament.  It's going to be interesting to follow and see what comes of it.  It seems that if there will still be two different chains, but only one product (the new Sia Coin that is created), how will the previous chain hold value?  I understand that traders will want to continue to trade it, but how would investors view it?  I think that then the original chain coin would need to proceed with its own abilities, technologies, project, etc. for it to survive as the market cap and value will then be moved to the new Sia Coin chain.  Thus destroying the value of the original Sia Coin chain.  Interesting, indeed.

mimagneto

If I understand correctly,
there will be no new coin creation, there will be the same SC with another algo, right?
So why are You writing about the "old"Sia and "new"Sia coin?

In theory, the old Sia Coin chain with it's algorithm Blake2b, and many, many ASIC miners will be left with nothing to mine.  So in theory, instead of heading to the garbage dump, miners will decide to continue to keep the blockchain alive.  Hence the "old" SiaCoin on the old algorithm will remain alive.  The "new" Sia Coin will now be a completely different blockchain on a different algorithm, so hence we now have two Sia Coins.  This is all theory, and based on perception as stated previously.  We have yet so see what actually develops.  Or am I understanding incorrectly?

I only work if there is an advanced payment. Too bad!

Actually, I am quite busy right now anyway.
I *think* I found a crack in one of the major algorithms.
If rumors are correct, somebody must have been taking advantage of it for quite some time now.

Oh will you stop teasing us all the time  Tongue

OK, OK. I will disclose as much as I can. I am not going to reveal everything as I still need to pay my bills, though.

There is a critical flaw in Ethash'es memory-hardness as you can generate DAG on the fly with enough computing power.
This is probably impractical with GPU's, but it seems that it is quite possible with FPGA's and ASIC's.
I found an efficient way to represent an Ethash DAG with a memory footprint in the order of several MB's,
which is three orders of magnitude less than the original DAG. I might be able to implement this method
with Vega if I can squeeze everything onto Vega's 4MB L2 cache.

Wow, very interesting.  You're knocking them out of the park bro!  I've always loved your miner for all of the algorithms that it's been able to mine and now that you're adding more algorithms, it's even better. Thank you for all of your hard work.  Cheers!

Which do you prefer to mine? Which do you see being the most popular method of mining in the future?

What are some of the best arguments for the success of each?

I personally prefer POS.  Why?  These are my reasons:

POS:

Uses the least amount of electricity versus all other forms of mining.
POS coins have fastest blockchains normally because of the POS mining system.
It uses the least amount of electricity.
It's the most profitable mining as you're only limited to the amount of coins that you can purchase, as you own more, your profits rise as well.
POS mining continues to your growth your wealth and amount of coins at the same time whereas miners break down and need maintenance.

I've personally made nice profits with POW mining, and will always run my miners.  BUT, POS is honestly my favorite way of mining cryptocurrencies.

It is not about tech so we can't make blame there is something fishy. So many ICOs took their money out by selling locked ETH and that is why it put pressure on the price. I think soon it will back into strong position.

When I first got into Cryptocurrencies, Ethereum was $8-$10.  I was able to mine two ETHs with my mining rigs per day.  Now ETH is at $200+, and I couldn't mine anymore close to 2 ETHs now with my mining rigs.  So honestly, Ethereum is doing great market and value wise.  If you look at Ethereum as Bitcoin was when it first started, it has mimicked it very nicely.  The future for Ethereum looks very bright, and it will continue to be one of the top Cryptocurrencies in the world IMHO.

I just published “Death of Crowdcoin, long life to Crowdcoin”  https:/[Suspicious link removed]/JU0CmiFprS

The ann of The big changes

I've been here since the beginning of Crowdcoin, and remember a lot of what you described very well.  I'm glad to see that Crowdcoin has a new and bright future with it's new whitepaper and planned projects.  Will Crowdcoin have added proof of stake to the new wallet and currency or will it remain a proof of work and masternode based coin?  Thank you for the updates, and hope to hear more soon about the various projects that the new coin will incorporate.

mimagneto

a swap 1:10,000

this project without head and foot already gave what had to give.

Nothing that makes it different from the other 5,000+ existing coins,
choose another, go ahead.

Bro, it all depends from your perspective.  I think that Cryptocurrencies will be the future of currencies or a means to transfer value.  The amount of currencies that are needed for such humanities are grand, and literally are composed of everything that is around us.  The amount of these currencies that are needed in the world are up for debate, but the truth is that most likely many more projects whether they are tokens or coins will be needed to run the new cryptocurrency world that is being created by all of us.  Crowdcoin is still a very young cryptocurrency, and although it's true that it has a lot of room to grow.  It's taking the first steps for a better coin for us all.

I love the VaultZ idea guys, great job!  The community fee will really help to continue to develop the project.  The website looks really good as well.  The new GUI miner looks really cool as well.  One of the main issues with new miners has always been the learning curve of how to configure miners, and this miner really helps with that issue.  Great work guys as usual.  I'm excited to see how the project continues to grow.  Cheers!

Staking is getting tougher with 80% of coins staking! The good news is those coins look like they will be staking for a while... We are only 3btc away from 100's on bittrex and cryptsy after that my guess is we will start seeing a big jumps!

Wow, thank you for that bro!  That's awesome news!  It looks like I'll be getting some more BeanCash ASAP!  lol  It would be nice to see the Market Capitilization of BeanCash grow as well.  Perhaps some more marketing and advertising is in order, or a Bounty for it.  It'll help bring in more investors and people that'll help the project grow.

Wow, BeanCash is up 8.96%!  I bought in at 44 Satoshis, and it's at 54 Satoshis.  With over a million dollars of daily trading volume, BeanCash is doing really well.  I can't wait to see how the project continues to progress.

Cheers!
mimagneto

Well 54 sats isn't much right now compared to its ATH of over 300 sats. Maybe one day we will get there again once more developments are released. Its been a while since I checked in here as I have been busy with other projects but I still continue to sprout beans every single day waiting for that day we see BeanCash skyrocket.

Lmao, me too bro.  I believe that BeanCash will be a project that will continue to sprout and grow for many years to come.  BeanCash at 300 Satoshis, would be really nice, lol.  I'm sure it'll get back up there and even surpass it.  We'll just have to wait and see.

As far as staking, I haven't gotten my first stake yet, my staking amount is low.  It's time to go shopping for more BeanCash to sprout daily!

135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DOPECOIN : Smoke Exchange advertising platform starts Beta testing! on: October 03, 2018, 10:51:11 PM
I've been in Dopecoin a while now, and I'm glad to see that Dopecoin is still moving along nicely.  As far as a merger with Potcoin, to help improve the project and rebranding, it's a great idea.  Although, honestly, if Dopecoin begins incorporating itself into dispensaries and stores worldwide as an alternative means of payment for purchasing, Dopecoin will slowly become an industry standard of payment.  I actually suggested this same idea a while ago, and began working on it, but with so many projects and work I haven't been able to work on this particular idea.  The idea is to sell the idea of Dopecoin as a way to purchase goods and services, but that literally pay for themselves due to POS system.

For instance, "Come and join Dopecoin, it's the currency that pays for your goods and services by just holding it!".  The idea was to advertise it as a commercially available means of payment that allows users and stakeholders to earn more of the currency which in turn allows them to purchase more goods and services "free" as they're now purchasing it with the "interest" or newly staked coins that they minted with their staking balance.

Although, the big names in this industry could easily lead a major cryptocurrency ICO, and lead the field, Dopecoin could also do this as well.  All that it takes is a large dedicated plan and community to orchestrate various plans and put them into motion.

136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Masternodes/POS the future of mining? on: October 03, 2018, 07:40:01 AM
So I started mining with GPU's bought a few asics and sold everything before the summer began (because last summer it was just not comfortable in my place with all my miners lol). I really love the idea of mining and generating coins there are so many different ways to mine. I recently got interested in masternodes it only costs me $15/mo to run 4 vps servers (vs. $500-$800/mo in electricity with POW mining) SO I know there are a lot of masternode scams and was told before I got into them to be very careful (I ended up only getting burned badly with one coin) every other coin I invested in turned out to be a pretty solid project.

SO I'm curious what does the community think will POS/masternodes phase out the physical POW mining protocol I really think there are a lot more advantages of POS over POW, what do you all think?

Smiley good day

Honestly, I think that all forms of mining will continue to grow and be developed.  Also perhaps even new forms of mining will be created and perfected as well.  Some of my favorite ways of mining are Masternodes and Proof of Stake mining, and perhaps some of the most advantageous as well.  If we look at Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain Technology as a whole, we're literally in the infant stages of development.  It's truly an amazing time in human history to witness the birth and rise of one of the greatest inventions humanity has seen in a very long time.

mimagneto

Agreed  Cheesy

There are some Masternode coins I would like to try, I think its very legit like the Bubbletone that recently did an ICO. I don't think they are scam because they partnered with lots of telcos and they are up and running already. They haven't publish yet about how to set up their masternodes, I'm just wondering whether its worth the while  and can we get enough to pay the monthly bills like the $15/month.

Which hosting did you inquire where you can only pay $15/month for 4 VPS?

Hey bro,

If you go and try out Vultr.com, you'll be able to get a VPS for only a few bucks per month.  For instance, if you UL your own ISO file, this saves you a bunch of money monthly.  Also then you can choose Linux, which is a less expensive option as well.  There's also a $25 coupon that you can get just for signing up with them.  Here's the direct link to the coupon and signup.  https://www.vultr.com/promo25b?service=promo25b   They give you $25 just for signing up, a few weeks ago it was $100 coupon.
