Smiley

Hmm, I wonder if buying at 127 on the AE was a dumb idea. How low will this thing go?

Depends. If NXT goes to da moon buying in a couple of days would be wiser. If it stays or falls buying now is better.

But doesn't SuperNET contain NXT within it? If NXT rises wouldn't the value of the SuperNET basket of currencies also rise?

Sure. But it's not ready yet. So from now $buyrice till then $dividend which is influenced by NXT price will be a difference obviously.

Here is a tip if you want to buy on BTER: Place your big 1 Satoshi increment of current showing price. It will be fullfilled immediately.

Writing this off as a scam...dude hasn't been online for over a week now. To the person who verified him, could you release some data about this person?

Over two weeks actually. He may still be fixing things. I would give him at least 1-2 more weeks before calling it a scam.

OK, we have just three hours to go.
If there are any unanswered questions, please ask them. I have tried to post all relevant things, but it has been quite hectic and I have not even the time to eat more than a couple bananas. Hence all my monkey references.

So, I could easily have forgotten something and I want to have full disclosures before a single BTC is coming in. The last thing I want is for there to be any reason for people to say I am hiding something or not being fully transparent.

I am just a bit tired now, I need to get some food and if you can think of any questions that should be asked, then please ask.

hey you are right. I refreshed the page and it added an hour
so it must have been off by an hour due to this really annoying daylight savings time. How can you save daylight? If you had a fully mirrored self enclosed box I guess you can store some light, but it is not an easy thing.

They introduced it to save energy and fix traffic light cost. Totally overrated nowadays. They are talking about getting rid of it.

James, will there be a group of people who are in charge of unity or is it you alone?

What happens if you disappear?

Good news!

Seems that CryptoNote fixed flaw with merkle hash!
Fix is already on github, new Boolberry build is coming soon.

Well.... it seems that it was pretty hard day for many people here Smiley

Great! Any link to the fix code?
757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: September 04, 2014, 01:45:46 PM

So what? The code base is brand new and needs work. Every Monero investor should know this.

Bitcoin was crap as a stack of cards at one point, it even had freaking goto loops in the code.

Lets keep the record straight: Bitcoin v1.0 had significantly better code quality than Cryptonote does from what I've seen; I just checked and there weren't any goto statements in the codebase. Cleaning up this mess isn't going to be easy, although it certainly is doable.

I'd strongly suggest taking the good part of Cryptonote - the ring signatures - and porting them over to the Satoshi codebase. Monero could be re-released based on that much better codebase and the UTXO set ported over at the same time so all coin owners on the old system were coin owners on the new system.

Creating an exodus option to move over to Bitcoin codebase would be the death of Monero.

There have been too many issues that have come to light recently.

The mining exploit that has been going on and has just been disclosed shocked me.

This attack, given Peter Todd's analysis, is just another major issue that I'm finding it hard to live with.

It's starting to sound like the original Cryptonote code was used to scam people by introducing something new and different. Those of us that have bought into its promise, in good faith, may just be at the tail end of the scam.

This looks like an unravelling of the problems, not a temporary blimp. At the back of my mind now is: 'what next?'

I'm an investor, Peter Todd is more competent to give a technical analysis. It doesn't look good.

Exactly. Pretty much directly after the Mining Software disclosure I got out with a good 30% profit. And I'm pretty sure I won't regret it, ever.

Good morning dear friends!

Just awakened by the call and findout news that Monero is under attack.

I'm started looking on it now, and, well, i have 2 news! Good one and bad one!

Bad news is that Boolbery also have this flaw. (Like every Cryptonote).
Good news - that this attack need pretty long period of preparation, because to achive big amount of transactions per block attackers need to move median, it's a day or more. That means that even if i see that attack is starting i have enought time to update network with workaround rule, that won't let grow transactions count per block too much to fail.
Exactly that's why we have alerts feature - in case of emergency i could update network pretty quickly!

So, i have time to calmly research the problem.

Zoidberg

Thanks for your quick support on this. Let's keep an eye on the chain and solve this bug asap.

Pretty suspicious that he already knows how to solve this  Roll Eyes

trying to induce a brotherwar is far more suspicous.

it makes absolutely no sense to disrespect bbr from xmrs standpoint and vice versa - that is probably the only argument I share with james

Nowhere he says he knows how to solve it. He just says he will watch the chain and implement a workaround if he sees suspicious acitivity aiming towards a fork.
