Isn't this just yet another ponzi scheme?

Yep.  Did you read the first line of the OP?   Wink

Nothing wrong with a ponzi as long as you know its such before hand.

Anyone going to help poor howeth?  His tulips starting to wilt.

Oh, sorry, my bad.

So, I take it there is no interest for this? The first match would be a freeroll of course. (There was quite a response in Project Development, so I'm surprised)

1234  Economy / Auctions / Re: [SELL] Advertise on Just-Dice.com on: July 23, 2013, 05:12:17 PM
Hey, Doog. I don't think you should scrap the ad idea. It just needs alternate implementation. Perhaps the 'advertise with us' link should just go to another page that accepts your Email, Bid and banner. Then displays that as an ad leader board on that page...With the email provided obviously as a means of notifying the winner that they have x hours to pay before it rolls to the next bidder.

I'm not sure what initially made you create just-dice, but are you using the suggestions I came up with in the SD thread? (Not implying you shouldn't, I'm happy that chat, ads, accounts etc. are being used when they're such obvious additions to the game). I was really hoping I'd be able to start on something like this as soon as my I.T degree finishes this semester but alas, I feel it would be a waste as i have little forum credibility along with a delayed start. Oh well, there are still plenty of ideas that can grow from Bitcoins fertile soil yet.

Anyway I was just going to say, I've got a few other ideas to share that I feel would boost the sites users and revenue for just-dice.  So if you wanted, please  just get in touch with me with a PM.

I said "only 1 BTC" not meaning it isn't much, but that it isn't much relative to the 500k BTC turnover of the site.  When people are making massive bets over and over, 1 BTC per week seems like noise...

I'll see how the auction goes over the next couple of weeks, and consider switching to the leaderboard idea.

I'm not aware of using your ideas from the SDICE thread, although I certainly read your posts.  I think things like ads and chat are pretty much obvious things to do.  I put the ads up because I was nagged into doing so, and chat just makes a site more "sticky".  I initially made the site because I thought the "investment" idea was just too good not to implement, and wanted to see how it worked out.  Maybe I should revisit the SDICE thread and see if there are more ideas worth borrowing (as if I don't already have a huge list of things to implement on the site)...

Wait, you made 500k BTC from Just-Dice? o_O

1236  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best place to buy the 2013 1BTC casascius coins? on: July 23, 2013, 01:08:29 PM
You should try your luck in the "goods" subforum, and make a thread if you don't find any seller.

d'oh! Did I seriously post this in service discussion? I meant to post there >.> , sorry

1238  Economy / Services / Re: 0.4 BTC / month free (Best payouts - NO POSTING NEEDED & Updated :) on: July 23, 2013, 01:01:22 PM
Wait, crap. Does my signature count as third party ads? I mainly just put them up myself because I enjoy the service/site.
It's text based, and I will let it slide if you move the inputs.io ad to the first line (instead of how it's currently the second).

Confirm ranlo Smiley

Is it alright like this or does it have to be size 12? I'd like to keep my siggy visibile, but that's not possible if it's size 12. (I'll set it back to 12 if that's neccessary)

1240  Economy / Gambling / Re: [INTEREST CHECK] BTCtournaments , 0.01BTC buy in, 8 player Minecraft tournament! on: July 23, 2013, 11:54:15 AM
What kind of tournament? Death match, survival games, hungry games, spleef, flint, are all good games I can think of that could match this model.

This could be voted on, as in MC you have indeed a lot of options.

This would be a cool idea I'd like to see come together. What do you think would be the frequency of tournaments? Daily, weekly, random? It would be also cool if the interest was there to implement larger tournaments as well. Free for all, 4v4, 2v2, Capture the Flag etc.

Also would the website dedicated to this hold stats for the games as well in real time? Would be a cool feature to have. Smiley

Yeah, the site would hold stats most likely. As for times, not sure. Point is, you have to find a time in a timezone that works well for most people, and that would be pretty hard.
